Hi Tony,. I always enjoy reading anything you write. Please read my response to Redux. I get where you're coming from. I just truly wish these young men and their families would take more time before committing. Take those visits, investigate what each university has to offer, talk to others.
I wish him well, but I hope that he comes back. The grass always seems greener on the other side, but that's on,y because it's covering a stick tank!
Inagree with you that leadership is lacking. unity is lacking. I guess that's why I'm hoping Scott will come home. He knows what that kind of culture is about and he has the leadership skills to establish that kind of culture once again here at Nebraska.
I've enjoyed this discussion. The dynamics and various points of view are refreshing!

But unfortunately that's not how it works, special athletes get to go to a winning team and academics are typically secondary. That's just the way it is now. Rex is a rare breed, not many like him out there. Again, he shouldn't stay committed just because the university is a good academic institution. He had a boatload of offers, many are also top notch academic institutions. A verbal commitment is nice, but when the team suffers and the coach gets fired you can't put your own future at risk because you verbally committed at one time. Like I said, the next coach could potentially be one he isn't a fan of personally or scheme wise. When things are more certain and we all know who will be coaching in 2018, I guarantee he revisits his choice.
