  1. Well.....to be fair.....the way some of his businesses have been ran, he would be money ahead with them not having their doors open.
  2. Actually, it's not....but, it's being taken differently. In my original post I said it's "unacceptable." That's not different than saying "You should be expected to shoot a certain percentage from the line at this level." I'm guessing that most coaches at this level would have no problem using either terminology when discussing what level of free throw percentage they expect from their team.
  3. I found this interesting. About a year ago, I read some articles talking about how the economic growth that Trump wants to accomplish is not possible without immigration simply because we won't have enough workers to do the work.
  4. Ok....no place did I say this is what Nebraska does all the time with free throws. No place did I say it’s a chronic problem. What I did say is that it’s frustrating when it happens. And, just because there are teams that are even much worse, doesn’t make it ok for our team to have a night like that. Its no different than if the football team went out and lost a close game and 2AM had a 35% completion record missing wide open receivers for TDs that would have won the game. Does that happen sometimes to a team? Yes. Is it acceptable to say that’s damn frustrating to happen at this level? Yes. Is it right to say that was a contributing factor to us losing the game? Yes. Bad free throw shooting is no different. You should be expected to shoot a certain percentage from the line at this level. When it doesn’t happen, it’s frustrating.
  5. 1) Smelled smoke in our house and couldn't find it. It was middle fo the summer and nobody would have a fire place or burning leaves..etc. Freaked us out enough that we called and had them come look. As stupid as it felt, they assured us we did the right thing. 2) Ended up behind an extremely drunk driver once on I35 in Des Moines. The guy ended up hitting a guard rail, blowing a tire, continuing on until the I-80 interchange and didn't quite make the curve. When the police finally got there, he was over heard yelling that he shouldn't be arrested because he's a prominent doctor in the area. 3) Ended up having to call them once here in Nebraska because we were burning one old building (with a permit) and sparks took off and landed on another building that I had planned on burning, but there was no way I was going to be able to manage both fires. Since I know everyone on the fire department, they gave me a lot of crap over that one. I owed them a lot of beer. 4) I've done a lot of driving/traveling. I have called a number of times when I would pass a woman alone on the side of the road with car trouble. I don't want to stop and freak them out as a man, but, I also don't want some other random man to stop and take advantage of the situation.
  6. It would be pretty difficult to back out of hanging out in Hawaii for a week.
  7. So, he is playing in the Army All American Bowl AND the Poly Bowl? I really have never followed these all star games. How often do players play in multiple ones?
  8. 65% is unacceptable as a team at a major college program. I know HS kids who shoot in the 80% range. Your 6th grade example is rather lazy. j/k
  9. Well, the futures are pointing towards about a 250 point rise at the opening. We'll see if that holds through the day though. The labor report that came out this morning could help keep it up.
  10. So, you’re agreeing with me in this post but not the previous one.
  11. Thanks for making my point. We shot 65% I believe. (15 of 23). The difference between 65% and 75% is 2.25 made FTs. That's enough to tie the game. Make 76% and we win. Just from FREE throws. Not sure why my post is "lazy". But....what ev.....
  12. They're called "FREE" throws for a reason. They should be almost automatic. It is always a big frustration for me when a player isn't good at shooting free throws. Quite honestly, it's laziness in not willing to put the time in doing something so mundane in the gym to get good at it. If you're playing at this level, you should be able to do it with eyes closed.....literally.
  13. It's the measurement most bragged about in the locker room.
  14. I agree. The arguments and debates should be at the time of the budget....not when the bills need to be paid.
  15. This is an example of the conundrum the Dems and any Repub that challenges Trump are in. It's not always that what he proposes is wrong....but HOW he proposes to do it is what's wrong. Another example is border security. The majority of people on both sides understand we need border security. However, the devil is in the details. It's about how you do it and the manner in which you do it that counts. This is going to take more than just sound bites on the evening news to educate the voting public on what the real issues are.
  16. If he does that to a woman behind the counter at a McDonalds over a straw, imagine what he does to his wife and kids when he doesn't get what he wants.
  17. Look, I get it. Now that Trump is in office and is the most disgusting human being ever to hold the office, it’s easy for the Dems now to claim everything that ever has been Republican and conservative is all about Trump. It’s their path to victory gin 2020.
  18. So, @StPaulHusker , let me ask this. It seems that you view polls as a slice in time. Meaning, that's how a team is playing right now. So, Nebraska lost 6 games in a row to start the season. They weren't on anyone's radar as far as rankings. BUT....the team changed in the middle of the season and we beat Minnesota by a wide margin, took care of business against BC and then played a very competitive game against the #8 team in the country and lost by only 5 points. If we are going to look at polls only as a slice in time, couldn't there be an argument that Nebraska should have been ranked at some point during the end of the season? And...oh BTW....they refuse to schedule other P5 teams....especially away from home.
  19. About 7 or 8 years ago I was in South Bend Indiana on business, with a Notre Dame fan. We had some time so we walked around the campus. The stadium was wide open for us to walk and see it. I've walked right into Memorial Stadium in Lincoln with my little kids and let them run around on the field before. Heck, I knew kids that purposely walked across the field every day going to class because they two gates at opposing corners would be open for a clear shot across the field.
  20. OK, then I'm confused.....because you said, anyone who is a Republican in Washington doesn't deserve the right to represent us. This statement seems to differ from that in that it opens the door to the fact that some Republicans can try to change the party from within. If they are "disqualified" from representing us simply because they are Republicans, then when do they get the chance to change the party? In this case, when can Romney have a chance to change the party if he is condemned before he even gets there.....even though he is heavily criticizing what we all have been criticizing for the last 2 years?
