  1. Interesting that the only video we have is him just standing on a court and shooting in practice. Can't even tell if they go in. I'm sure he is pretty good. But, that video doesn't show us anything.
  2. Total failure on the part of both schools for basketball as a sport in this state. Both programs want more basketball fans and we can't even watch the rivalry game between the two schools.
  3. I have Internet through our local phone company.
  4. Hey...we are fifth in the conference right now
  5. Since the game, I have been trying to figure out what Bo needs to do next. How does he approach the team and get their mind headed in the right direction. This is the best I have come up with. That anger can make the team go either direction. It can either make them not show up or it can make them focus. It is Bo's job to focus that anger in a productive manner to prove something to the world. As for how they played after the OSU game, they won six games. I don't care how pretty it was. They won six games by fighting and scratching and never giving up and coming from behind to win. This team might not be talented enough to win pretty. But, they have proven they can win ugly. Now, they need to prove they can win ugly against a top SEC team. I didn't watch the game, but it appears Georgia got their butts handed to them pretty good by South Carolina and also lost to Alabama. They beat Florida in a reasonably close game. Other than that, they haven't played anyone who was ranked. The SEC does not play a tough OC schedule. LINK This is why last year's championship game was such a joke. Not saying anyone goes out and schedules 4 top ten programs. BUT, at the end of the day, anyone wanting to brag about their conference should have to go prove it head to head against other conferences. Nothing is more true to that than to win the NC. Glad this year they are. Every year is different. Just because the SEC has been good the last few years, doesn't mean they are going to dominate the bowl games this year. They still need to go out and prove they are the best.
  6. This team has got to have an "us against the world" attitude going into the bowl game. When Bo first got here, he brought that attitude. I haven't seen that out of him lately. We are going up against a team that was less than 5 yards away from playing for the National Championship. This is this team's chance to prove that the Wisconsin game was nothing more than an embarrassing blip that cost them the conference championship. It should absolutely piss off every coach and player in our program to go out and prove something. After the OSU embarrassment Bo challenged this team to win out and they did it. After this embarrassment, he needs to challenge them again. They need to come out and prove that they are a better team than that. To me, the SEC needs to prove that they are the top dog in the country like so many people think they are. Last year they won an NC without having to go out and earn it outside their conference. The BCS basically gave handed the conference the championship...it was just a matter of which team. This year, they are being made to go out and earn it by playing someone else. I for one will be rooting for ND even though I can't stand them. Nebraska needs to hold up their end of the bargain and prove that their second place team isn't better than the second placed team in our conference. The SEC very well might prove once again they are better. But, Nebraska needs to put up a fight and MAKE them prove it.
  7. My question is, what would they need to do to get ranked. What you pointed out is the obvious. But, every once in a while the obvious doesn't come true and people are surprised. I know...I know...everyone is going to say it's not going to happen. But, my question is still there. What would Nebraska need to do to get the respect it needs to be ranked?
  8. Unless that is misleading, the view looks pretty dang good. I would love to sit up there some time as long as the weather is nice.
  9. The reason that Rex and Taylor are the only ones you have heard of is because they are the two guys on the team that get the most publicity. Other guys on the team that are vocal leaders include Kenny Bell, Ben Cotton, Will Compton, and Daimian Stafford. Then you have guys who lead by example: Ameer, Quincy Enunwa, Choi, Long, Jackson, Caveman, PJ Smith, and Ciante. The leadership on this team is extremely strong. That wasn't the problem against Wisconsin. The problem was lack of athleticism, lack of physicality, and poor technique on the defensive side of the ball. That needs to be fixed, but unfortunately, it's not a quick fix. We need to keep improving in recruiting and get better athletes on the field. There are leaders on the team. But, are they the type of leaders that can lead the team to a championship? Or, are they also players with the deer in headlights look when things start going south? Also, as far as athleticism. This team had enough athleticism to match up very well against Wisconsin earlier in the year and swarm to the ball. I'm not saying even more athleticism wouldn't help. BUT, the total melt down on Saturday wasn't because Wisconsin has that much more athleticism than we do. I think if this is what people are going to hang on to, they are missing the boat.
  10. Ok, before I ask this, I fully understand that this season is lining up to be a sub par season especially when we get into conference play. Right now we are sitting with 4 teams in the top 25 in the AP poll in conference and our team hasn't shown that it has great talent. I get that. But, let me dream a little. Let's dream that Miles is that dream hire that can motivate players to have that dream season that nobody expects. My question is, what would Nebraska have to do when looking at our schedule over the next couple months to become ranked in the national polls? If we pull off the upset against Creighton, is it possible before conference play? I don't think so. Would it take beating Creighton OSU and Michigan? Our first four games in conference are brutal. Also, when was the last time we were ranked? Was it when Piatkowski was here?
  11. When I click on "verify your access", nothing happens.
  12. With the continued improvement we should see on offense and an improvement on defense, this schedule should allow us one thing. We should be able to develop backups. When we have been fighting tooth and nail to win every game with major comebacks, backup players are not going to get major snaps. Next year's schedule could allow that to happen.
  13. That's good and that is the attitude the team needs to have. BUT, the intensity needs to be in the off season and fall camp. That is where champions are made. Where is that intensity on the O line or the D line? Stein was a very good player and I believe under appreciated because he wasn't vocal in the media. I'm not sure he was a vocal leader on the team. Suh was that man who stood up and made everyone else around him better. I think Rome pissed that ability away after he left the team then came back. Maybe he can regain that in the off season. I agree, this team needs to figure out and experience what it is like to win on a very high level. Nobody on this team has experienced that. EVERYONE on the Wisconsin team knew what that felt like and knew what it took to go out and win a championship game. Some how we need to get over that hump.
  14. This article is a great article about what made the 1997 team so great and (I believe) what is lacking on this team. LINK Who on this team has this type of commitment to doing what it takes to lead this team and do what ever it takes to win? Honestly, the only ones I can think of are Taylor and Rex. Now, don't get me wrong. Taylor has his faults with the fumbles. But, I believe he has shown that he is willing to do what ever it takes to get better and win games. These are the only two guys that I can think of on this team that the rest of the team looks up to. But, do they have the personalities to be able to get in other players faces and call them out when they screw up? Who else? Who on this defense has the balls to stand up in the first quarter of the game on Saturday and call other players out and make them raise their level of play? I personally also believe some of this is because of the way Bo handles captains. There isn't a consistent hierarchy on the team of leadership other than Bo, assistant coaches then everyone else. When you have an organization of over 100 players, you need leadership inside those ranks to keep the group moving forward in the right direction. Thoughts???
  15. Yep have a man from up north visiting Who?
  16. So, with Webster signing, is there any big guys that he will be able to draw in?
  17. Also . . . I just remembered who originally proposed that the president take that power away from Congress . . . http://www.washingto...e-debt-ceiling/ That dang big spending power hungry . . . Mitch McConnell. And that is significant? Republicans have stupid ideas too. I thought I have made that clear. So your bolded statements were about McConnell? Did I say it wasn't? That statement is for anyone who is for that move.
  18. Yep, that pretty much sums him up. Here is a hint on how Carl works. He gets into a discussion and then instead of sticking with the discussion and contributing to it, he will pick out one or two little tidbits of a post and twist them into something that wasn't even the original intent of the comment or post and gets fixated on that. It's his way of acting like he is winning a debate. He really doesn't have any intent on actually discussing a topic.
  19. The turnovers are a problem. Let's not gloss over that. But we have got to stop giving the defense a pass because the offense has issues. With those turnovers we're still the top offense in the conference in three of the four major categories: Total Offense, Rushing Offense and Pass Efficiency Offense, and we're #2 in Scoring Offense, two points a game behind OSU. The offense has problems. It is not THE problem, and you can blame those turnovers as much on the defense giving up epic yards and points and the offense having to play a riskier version of football to try to catch up more than you can blame the offense's turnovers for the defense's woes. Even if we clean up all turnovers, this defense is Cosgrovian. There's no getting around that. Let's say they scored TDs on every turnover and then let's say we took that away. That is 21 points. We still lose by 18. I agree. The offense isn't perfect but it wasn't the cause of us losing this game. The defense was pathetically horrible. They were so horrible that it is unfathomable what they were even doing in practice all week.
  20. OK....here is something I was frustrated at during the game and finally had time to look it up. In the first half: Pass 18 Run 12 Now, that doesn't appear to be that bad. But, I specifically remember Taylor going back a number of times and having to scramble because of absolutely no time in the pocket. Many of those 12 runs are by him. So, I am going to claim that 5 of those were actually pass plays that broke down. SO....that leaves us at Pass 23 Run 7 76.666% of the time a pass play was called in the first half. I have thought Beck has done a decent job pretty much all year. I have really liked our offense. HOWEVER, when you have our stable of RBs with Rex back as pretty much healthy.....you call 76.66% pass plays???? I was shocked.
  21. Knapp, That is exactly where I am at. I don't want to go through a coaching search. I firmly believe that most of the time, that sets a program back. Bo has done some very good things here. He has brought in some very good players that happen to be pretty young right now. the problem is, stuff like what happened on Saturday night has nothing to do with talent. I don't even think it has anything to do with game planning or in game adjustments or technique training...etc. This staff and group of players have proven to me over this year that they can do all of those things at one point or another. I firmly believe that it is all there inside our program to win that game and win the Big Ten Championship. The big question is, why does a program like this with everything that it has inside, completely fall apart like it did on Saturday? You/I can sit here and blame the coaches. They should have the players mentally prepared to come out and play that game hard. BUT, then I sit back and think....this is these players 13th game of the season. There are a lot of seniors on this team. They have played this team before and beat them. They KNEW what to expect. This team shouldn't have to rely on a coaching staff to get them pumped up and ready to kill. I honestly don't understand it.
