  1. I like the smirk and hidden excitement that Riley had talking about Stevenson.
  2. Sorry bro, family love bias here but yes, love to Shields too of course!! GO BIG RED!!!!
  3. It is such a great day, to have a Husker inducted to the NFL HOF! Henry Michael Tingelhoff, Aka Mick has FINALLY gotten in today! Its been a long 37 year wait! More than deserved! Today, is a great day to be a Husker. It is even a better day for his family! We've all been complaining and bitching for so many gatherings and holidays, that this had not happened yet haha. Anyway... Congrats Mick! You have deserved this!
  4. THOSE are realistic expectations and not asking for a whole hell of a lot. I am right there along with you Dude. As long as we are competitive in our division, and we don't get blown out, we don't lose to Minnesota or Iowa, I will be satisfied.
  5. Then Riley shouldn't have any issues immediately taking a 9 win team above mediocrity. Exactly. Installing new systems on offense and defense and losing your 3 best players and playing all new teams poses zero challenges that I can see. Perfectly stated Moraine. TheSker, taking above? Do you really think this team is enriched with talent like tOSU? I think we have talent, but its nothing superior across the board, like the school you stated earlier. You seem to forget how lazy Bo and most of his staff, with the exception of a few assistants, were on the recruiting road. We have kids that can grow, and become stars, but you have to coach them to that level. I believe we have those coaches, but your not going to see a dramatic change in one year. The scheme change alone, you will see an improvement, but will it equivilate to wins? Probably not, but it we should remain more competitive in games we "shouldn't" win, rather than seeing 70-31, or 408 rushing yards to one player. I will take a 7 win season next year, if we can remain competitive in every game.
  6. So the guy you frequently mention.....we'll call him Bo......"transitioned" a 5 win team to a 9 win team. Urban Meyer went undefeated in his "transition" at Ohio State. So how exactly are Riley's year one expectations anything below 9 wins and no blowout losses? It was a "transition" year when Bo took over. Not sure why "transition" is in quotes. That's what they call it when a new coach comes to a new place. There's usually kind of a "transition" there. I gave Bo a lot of credit for turning the team around to 9 wins in his first year. No way in hell did I "expect" that. He did a great job. I'll give Riley a hell of a lot of credit too, just like I did for Bo, if Riley takes this team even higher than they've been. No way in hell do I "expect" that. Not in a "transition" year. Difference is, Bo wasn't in a transition year anymore. Bo was in year 7, and in year 7 his results looked very similar to the years previous. Those blowout losses were killers for Bo's career here, had he avoided those and cleaned up some of the repeated issues that plagued his team year after year, he may still be the HC here. If Riley's career or his teams look like Bo's 7 years from now, I can assure you, I will not accept that. Nobody would. I think avoiding those blowouts is gonna be very key to the whole situation though. Is Urban Meyer's takeover at tOSU being compared to Bo's? You do know that Meyer took over a VERY rich roster. tOSU wasn't mediocre before him. Maybe the year before he got there, but remember, they had the most BCS appearances and wins in college football! That isn't easy. Tressell built that program, and it hasn't taken a hit at all. 5 win program, one year. Bo took a mediocre team, and made it a mediocre team. Only difference, he won the games he should have, and got blown out in the games he shouldn't have.
  7. This is a great read and so much truth! Shatel hit it on the head with this article!
  8. Lol I am excited for you!!! 16 years... that is a lot of catching up, and wine/alcohol being consumed! You should be nice and force him to have a weekend away, to keep him sane
  9. If I were to buy one, that is what I would do, even before this. Cheaper, same quality and you get what you want. NCAA cracks WAY too much for a collegiate jersey, where the number most likely becomes irrelevant after two years anyway.
  10. NCAA won't allow paying players. Also, they have a free food, free education, and possibility of going to the next level. That alone, is enough.
  11. I know your feeling man! I am 28, just got back in the gym in February. Before that, was back when I was in High School as well. I have had to learn not to be stubborn and lift smart. Its extremely hard not to be stubborn though haha.
  12. I'm pretty sure that's who they were referring to when they said we had a "great punter." I'm pretty sure that's who they were referring to when they said "Nebraska's Sam Foltz averaged 42.2 yards a punt and saw more than 40 percent of his punts land inside the 20." Give the man a break, he probably didn't click the link and read the rest
  13. I do legs every day. Not extremely hard. Where do you focus on shoulders? I personally, don't have a designated day I do my routines. I figure it out on Sunday on what my routine will be. It helps shock the muscles, and not have them use to a certain schedule. Last week: Monday: Arms (minus triceps), Legs and light chest workouts Tuesday: Back, abs and legs Wednesday: Shoulders, Chest triceps and Legs Thursday: Off Friday: Legs (heavy), heavy on the Chest workouts Saturday: Arms and back. Sunday: Cardio and abs (Plan for next week) This week: Monday: Off Tuesday: Arms, Legs and Chest Wednesday: Shoulders, triceps and back Thursday: Strictly leg and abs day Friday: Back and cardio Saturday: Free day to do whatever Sunday: Arms and Chest. Next week: Trying to figure that out, but I will be fitting in two rest days. I use to have a regular routine, but I didn't really notice much gain. Since doing this (in April), my warm-up weight has gone up dramatically. Was only able to do 40lb dumbbell bench press 10 times. I can now do 80lbs 10 times.
  14. My biggest pet peeve, besides someone not wiping down their station when they are done, and the guy who drops weights after each set... is that guy who thinks it is needed to walk in front of the gym with his chest puffed out (weighing 140lbs wet) and feels the need to get a drink of water out of the fountain after every little set he does. Don't water log yourself bro!
  15. Congrats on the PR. Elevate the bar on some boxes or on the safety bars in a power rack to where it is around your knees. Put on your desired weight and start pulling from there. It will help you with your lockout and the top half of the lift. deads.jpg Here is an example. To add to Stumpy's, here is a great article that was shared through a group of my friends, where we all share the same passion, lifting. http://www.jtsstrength.com/articles/2013/09/23/improving-deadlift-lockout/ http://jjstrength.com/improve-your-deadlift/
  16. He got high caliber players who's limits weren't even remotely touched under the old staff. While in his recruiting (no offense to the players), he was recruiting kids that couldn't/wouldn't improve. He has gotten a few that are higher caliber (not basing off star rating), and it has shown, but it goes back to his laziness on the recruiting road. Outside of Coach Fisher and Warren, who really excelled in recruiting? It seemed like Bo and some of our staff thought the program itself would be the selling point, while not showing how many kids in various positions they can get recognized to go to the next level. Had Garrison not gotten here when he did, I don't think our OL would have improved enough to even give Abdullah the exposure he got and well deserved. Same goes for Coach Kaz. These guys we have upfront on the defensive side, wouldn't be where they are at, without the recommended coaching changes. The two most improved spots on our team, and they come from guys Bo didn't originally bring in. Surprise, surprise.
  17. Today, super sets. Bench mixed with curls and hammers. Did some tries, and of course, my daily leg action! By the way, I can't run on a treadmill for the life of me. It is to uncomfortable, and unnatural. I go to the lake when I can. Only time I think about using a treadmill, when it is to damn cold lol.
  18. Great news for Bo Pelini. He is now starting all over in the place where he should've started from to begin with. He got paid a boat load of money to be in HC in training here, and now he gets paid a boat load of money to continue that training somewhere else. Hopefully, he actually listens and takes pointers from a damn good coach, in Tressel. Only way he improves, is if he stops being closed minded and starts to take advice. Oh and he stops talking down fans and AD's lol.
  19. Nebraska was, without a doubt, to big of a gig for Bo with so much inexperience. LSU fans couldn't wait to get rid of him, even though he won a NCG as their DC. But just like here, it was a "His way, or no way" type of deal. There, even with the talent they had, he was giving up large amounts of yards and points, while doing it to teams who didn't rank in the final AP Poll. IMO, he only looked good on paper before he came here, because of how well the offenses were, where he was at during his assistant years. I am not going to lie, I was stoked to have him when he was first announced. I looked at his overall stats, and whatnot, and didn't read between the lines. A friend of mine, LSU fan, told me the day Bo got hired, "Glad you guys took him off our hands, but I am sorry to tell you, he won't do anything big there, besides be mediocre. He is lazy on the recruiting trail and his defensive system is flawed and is often exposed to mediocre teams." We saw all of this, and unfortunately, I told him he was crazy, and ate crow lol.
  20. Every time I use the HuskerBoard logo in the upper left corner, it sends me to an unavailable page lol. Anyone else have this issue?

  21. You put Peterson. I think we need a "swear jar" for this kind of thing. I honestly didn't even realize that! That is even worse than just adding the "s" at the end
  22. JT is being remodeled, will be the 3rd biggest in conference Please don't remind me, I have had to do some work up there, and it made me nauseous. I am hoping I don't go back. Every day I was hoping my truck wouldn't be vandalized in their student lot with a HUGE Huskers decal on the back window LOL.
  23. Lol, let me guess "Peters" not Peter? LOL Stupid Auto Correct
  24. https://www.facebook.com/events/731497600306012/ Huskers made it to final four, and bombarding Army/Navy-March On
  25. Also, I don't see anywhere, where they say that the SEC is almighty. They are simply saying that they are the winning conference for their additives. Not only did they win from it in TV deals, Mizzou and TAMU won by all the revenue they brought in. MUCH more than what they were making in the Big 12, while producing a Heisman winner. That conference, and those two teams have done a lot more since their move, than we have the whole time we have been here. Sorry to be blunt about it, but it is what it is. Our move was good, as theirs were too. We just haven't done squat, as they have, even in an "overrated" conference.
