  1. True but very little, if any have walked-on to us if they have a Kansas State, Iowa or Iowa State offer. Oddly enough Wyoming just hardly even tried to recruit Nebraska kids while Christensen was there. Glenn did dabble some in the state. Will be hard for these kids to turn down a D-1 offer from a school like Wyoming now with a ex-Husker player/coach running the show.
  2. I don't think Wyoming will be a threat with the kids we offer but those we don't and hope to walk-on is a different matter. Many of these kids are going to have other possible D-1 offers but Wyoming due to proximity will be the one to watch. For sure those in the western part of the state.
  3. No more than I bring up this point, Sippy comes out with this article. Again this development is not going unnoticed. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/sipple/steven-m-sipple-bohl-doubling-down-on-nebraska-prep-prospects/article_c078b52f-6774-5e43-932d-4b141750bae1.html
  4. Going to be very interesting to watch Wyoming going forth. One has to recognize they have a strong possibility of reeking havoc to both Nebraska and Kansas State with recruits. Many great kids that have walked-on to either program will now not be overlooked by Bohl and his staff in those two states (Nebraska/Kansas).
  5. I don't think S&C is a issue at all. We just have some players that have overall physical limitations speed wise. That is a recruiting and not so much a S&C issue IMO. I do think there is a big difference of confidence and mental make-up of Bohl's NDSU squads and Pelini's NU squads. Bohl's squads probably have a mental make-up of the 90's Huskers. Our kids have faced plenty of adversity through the years. IMO much of the issues start at the top with Bo. The players may be in his corner as a whole but man it would be tough to deal with the mental anguish Bo brings at times. Then again some of our issues just are plain and simple coaching issues.
  6. Wasn't at the game but my brother was (south side) and from what he could tell Gregory looked very close to a punch at the Iowa player. He couldn't fully tell if it was a punch or shove either but leaned toward punch.
  7. I was pretty meh with the Frost idea at first but in hindsight the possibility is growing on me. I think Frost could succeed here off two trains of thought. One he is a very good recruiter. Sure as the HC you are more of a closer but it is more the line of thought he would know the type of recruiters he wants and the style to attack the recruiting front. It is no secret that Bo doesn't like recruiting any more than he has to. It was never his strong point as an assistant. Secondly I have the sneaking suspicion that Frost would surround himself with quality/experienced coordinators. This is one of my main knocks against Bo and his lack of experienced coordinators trying to learn on the job. It is apparent Bo isn't able to handle having experienced coordinators on staff that that aren't complete yes men. Time will tell what happens to Bo but I wouldn't be against either Richt if he came available or Frost even with his lack of experience.
  8. Yup that is true but that goes back on both sides of the ball coaching wise and players not performing. I guess I don't see why we should be arguing one over the other... both sides haven't been holding their end of the bargin.
  9. Sure the offense didn't help the defense but this wasn't one game issue for the defense. The defense in the 2nd half looked like pretty typical to me as of late against quality opponents. Just the offense put even more pressure on the faulty defense. Just in this game we were horrible all-around in the 2nd half.
  10. I applaud Tommie for saying it. What he said wasn't wrong at all.
  11. Both sides of the ball sucked badly! It wasn't just blame for one side, both equally get it. It was pretty clear to me.
  12. We saw the turd in the punch bowl!
  13. He hasn't been the right guy for a couple years now but he just wins enough to keep his job.
  14. Yup but would we spend the money on top notch OC/DC? Probably means Bo gives up to much power which doesn't fly with him.
  15. Changing D staff as a whole doesn't matter, Bo is really the DC and he sucks at it.
  16. I just never post during these moments but I can't help it today. Same ol crap whenever we play anyone with a pulse. executing is not in our vocab and our coaching as a whole is horrible like normal. We start off so great but then just implode. Play calling, execution and horrible tackling is Nebraska football now a days. Doesn't even resemeble Osborne football at all. I can sit here ranting about Bo but what good does it do as he will continue to be the head coach for years to come I bet. We just have to accept beating the weak teams and getting trucked by the good teams. We might as well just put 600+ yards given up on our D stats before the game even starts. PATHETIC!!!!
  17. I think everyone knows and Kenzo knows the ship has sailed with Nebraska. But I don't think he wants anyone to shed a tear for him not getting that Husker offer. As shown he has very good options laid out before him in the end. Sure imo neither KSU or Wisconsin are Nebraska but football wise they are damn good programs.
  18. Looks like unless other bigger offers come in, Cotton will be deciding between Kansas State and Wisconsin come Fall.
  19. http://btn.com/2013/07/15/bill-carollo-we-have-to-change-behavior/?cmp=user+shared+twitter Even showed a pic of Kenny with the hit. Sounds like if this play goes down this upcoming season... Kenny would be ejected from the game.
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Michigan Ballage's first overall offer?
  21. Sounds like Wisconsin's new QB commit in D.J. Gillins is working Young hard. So it will be interesting to see in time if he ends up in Madison?
  22. Awesome news in getting Monte!!! Just have to hope we beat the MLB draft odds in the end. Harrison is a uber all-around athlete just like Bubba was.
  23. I think in the end Wisconsin is likely the team to watch out for. With them already getting his teammate in Deal could be a deciding factor. We won't know until he gets on all the campuses.
  24. Nelson is more college ready now but he reminds me of the kid K-State just got to walk-on from SW Kansas (Meade) in Randy Friesen. The Friesen kid was 6'8", 230-pound DE that just swallowed one whole side of the field. Normally kids that tall end up TE's or OT's but occasionally you will see a man mountain DE succeed. Normally you worry about leverage with kids that tall.
