weren't the referees told if they are unsure or question the hit, they need to throw the flag. I think that is what we are seeing.

I think what we are seeing is the destruction of football the way we know it. It will be a very different game in twenty years, and I suspect much less popular.

Better start learning the ins and outs of soccer.

  6. he's been great, night and day from where he was last year when it comes to playing the ball while its in the air, the coaches were right when they said the light had come on for him this season
  7. I think the next step or getting over the hump would be winning a conference though, Pelini has done a good job of getting to three in five years so the next step would actually winning one. its a real crappy position to be in because he has been so consistence with the 9-10 wins i just don't know if that will be enough eventually he's gonna have to do more
  8. I agree it's a valid point......but seriously, is head coaching turnover every 6 years the answer either? no but you should have expectations for where your program should be after a certain period of time. if you would have asked me when Pelini was hired if I would be happy with zero conference titles in 5 years probably 6 years I would have said no and that 5-6 years is enough time to at least win a conference title. it tuff because he does win 9 games a year and even with this defense Nebraska should win 9 with this schedule but how long do you settle for 9 wins a year with no hardware
  9. what Carriker said at the end of the video is spot on. if we go 9-4 which seems likely we need to put a timetable on pelini for how much time he's gonna get to get Nebraska over the hump
  10. if he wins out (big if) then no one will even remember this tape exists
  11. The most contradicting thing I've seen today. Not that I'm disagreeing with your principle, but your Smart example is a complete opposite of it. In fact, your explanation of Smart if 100% the same situation as Papuchis is to Pelini at the moment. The only difference is lack of success. I didn't word it correctly my bad, I meant to emphasis experience which Smart has way more of than Pap in my opinion, if i'm not mistaken he was a DC at D2 school before he joined Saban at LSU which has to be about 10 years ago as an assistant then at his alma mater before following Saban to the dolphins and he has been with saban at bama since day 1, that isn't exactly the same resume as pap who seemed to become a DC in a very short period of time, its ok to promote from within if a guy has paid his do's, i would just like to see a experienced DC that could help Bo out heck it could hurt having two experienced set of eyes watching over a defense that has been struggling.
  12. frost does call the plays a Oregon not sure pap does that here How do you know that Frost does? How do people on this board know that Pap doesn't call the defense? just going off what I've read don't remember where but I believe it was right around the start of fall camp, i'm sure Oregon's HC does have some oversight like every HC probably does but I don't think I've ever heard it stated that Pap calls the plays
  13. frost does call the plays a Oregon not sure pap does that here
  14. even a head coach like Saban has proven OC and DC, Smart and Nussmeier both are proven guys, Nussmeier had called plays before at fesno state and Washington and Smart has been with Saban since his LSU days and worked his way up, these are the kind of guys Pelini needs on the staff proven coaches not just a bunch of unproven yes men
  15. i'm a Martinez supporter but I will be glad when he is gone next year just so I don't have to listen to the constant bashing on Martinez by some people who think that everything is his fault. did he play a good 4 quarters yesterday nope he didn't, but there is plenty of blame to go around and not all of it should fall on a guy who threw 3 TDs, true he isn't running the ball effectively so far this year but if that is because of injury than the coaches should sit him and put one of the other QBs in there to play, more of a coaching problem in my opinion than on Martinez
  16. It's simple really....That Papuchis guy has no effing clue what he is doing! Tough for me to blame it all on Papuchis when I believe he is simply a puppet. well Papuchis is still the DC if he cant convince bo that this crap isn't working and maybe they should make a change whether that be scheme or personnel than he isn't doing his job, puppet or not he needs to get this defense playing well
  17. Who said "better than"?? Couldn't be worse because he looked good in garbage time. Some say the backup can't get playing time because he has "no experience". Some say the backup can't play because he get playing time "but it's against a garbage team". Make up your damn mind. i'm all for getting Armstrong in the game when its out of reach like it was yesterday but to assume he is better than a Martinez because of him playing S. Miss and watching his high school tape is jumping to conclusions, the back up QB is always the most popular player after a loss but he's the back up for a reason
