  1. Bleacher Report knows its shiznit!
  2. I dont think Auburn was ranked. But the SEC logo gives you a top 15 spot with a 2-0 record.
  3. Tommy showed yesterday that he can be our QB next seasin. A little work on his passing game and hes a stud. No the break away Taylor speed but he can certainly run. Gonna be a hell of a battle between him and Stanton.
  4. That's funny. Its funny but its also sadly closer to truth. Honestly with Georgia falling a spot at the bottom opened up for us. At 9 wins we can sneak back in. Probably not top 20 but close maybe.
  5. I wish it would be Oregon or somebody else that would do it. Because even if FSU wins, it's still another "southern" school that won the NC. Might as well be the SEC. Exactly right. Need a Stanford or tOSU to do it. In a pinch Oklaho.a could do it in Sugar. Since I picked Bama in my bowl picks, OUhas a real chance.
  6. The gears are in place. We jus need the right lube to make this thing thrust into..........this analogy has gotten away from me.
  7. We just beat the #22 ranked SEC team in a bowl. Thats top ten material right there.
  8. This is just insane and demonstrates no understanding of football. Beck made the same call almost every successful coach would make in the same situation, and made another call that a lot of coaches wouldn't, and it turned out to be pretty legendary. The amount of time you'd drain with a running play makes little difference when there's still three and a half minutes. Either way would leave plenty of time for Georgia to make a last drive. The first down was key. Draining clock was not. They rode Abdullah for 27 carries and he did his job like the workhorse he is. I'm almost dumbfounded there are still people on here contending that Beck abandoned the run when we needed it most, but then every one of these fancy-pants forward passes seems to get their panties in a bunch. Jesus, people complain we're not using Newby enough. Nothing wrong with that shovel pass call, either. Unless you geniuses predicted our back-up RB would invariably turn upfield before securing a ball put directly in his hands. It was a good call precisely because Abdullah was taking a breather and Newby would draw less attention. Well, I guess my insanity is making me tired. Im going to bed. Probably shouldn't have singled you out, Dux. I think I was reacting to a couple years worth of posters who are convinced we could run at will if only our too-cute OC got out of the way. The last thing I want is for this team to beco.e one dimensional. Beck caled a good game. Mixed it up and kept them guessing. The reason we were so impressive in victory was because we won at every level. ur coaches outcoached more experienced guys, our players outplayed SEC guys. We won the turnover battle and overcame bad field position. And a young defense held fogether at the end for the win. Maybe Tim Beck made the right cal, maybe not. Not the call this guy wouldve made. To me, in crunch time like that, I go with the almost sure thing. Regardless of them defending the run A Double has moves to make olays, case in point Northwestern to keep us alive pre hail mary. But overall Beck kept it flowing well. No nonsense triple pass 3 and out drives. Complete win for both coordinators.

  10. Well I guess Im among the minority. Im ok with that. Sure, had the passed worked it would be no biggie but I still wouldnt agree with it, not the call Id make. 3:30 becomes 2:30 even if we had to punt from not pickng up the first. A minuts makes a difference concerning their play calling. Ameer was clutch all day at the run. TA was not clutch all day with the pass. Yes the 99 yarder was incredible but Enunwa had alot to do with it to. Im not a football genius by any means but I do have an understanding of the game and telling me I dont because you disagree about a play call is Busch League. Really wasnt trying to make this a huge debate. Simply not the call Id make, even on a video game. Gonna be a long offseason. Good game today by everyone.
  11. we will have to agree to disagree. but every play is a gamble. and the game was on the line, he called a pass, it failed, and we still won. so it is what it is. it really was not that risky given the upside and the fact that we still won despite failing to execute on that play. A QB who is young but talented in itself is a gamnle. But forcing him to throw on that play was wrong. Clearly he wasnt comfortable since he missed open receivers completely. That wasnt a clutch play scenario and we needed the first to ice the game. I get it was a simple routine play but there was a certain amount of risk that weighed heavier than letting A double pound it for 4 yards. Other than that I really have no complaints on the play calling. Solid effort from everyone.
  12. Nobody? Hes shown flashes of brilliance and hes shown he can have a really bad day. I like him. Good QB. But damn he makes me nervous throwing. Not like Taylor, motion is fine. He just seems to get desperate when the pocket collapses. If you feel comfy with him on that play kudos to you.
  13. The game was essentially on the line and your options are pass with a guy nobody feels comfy with doing so OR run with a guy who is. as dependable as you can get. Sure he couldve fumbled. Sure TA makes a better throw and it looks genius. But the gamble wasnt worth it in my book.
  14. He hS stated hes returning but a lofty draft promise could sway him. Bo and Co. Have been good about keeping players for 4 so I feel good we see him in September torching our opponents.
  15. no they were not. there were two open receivers and ta threw it between them. they were ready for the run. that is why he called it. also, maybe the call spared us a fumble? again, hindsight is 20/20. that call was not executed, but it was there for the taking if the throw was made. the best criticism is that ta should not be trusted to make that throw, but you have to trust your players. He felt pressure, made a bad throw. Thats all you can ask of your D in that situation if your Georgia. Maybe not sniffed out, but they didnt get torched either. Ready enough. You bring up another point. Throwing in that scenario is not TAs strong suit and that makes it a bad call. Im all for trusting the players but we desperately needed that win and nobody was forcing us to throw. The only thing I liked from the announcing crew was when they said give it to AA and ride it to the win.
  16. honestly, i misread what you said. i thought you said anything but a catch "would have" given them a win, not "could have". my apologies. i am just saying that i do not think it was that bad of a call. running would have been better, but it is pretty easy saying that after the fact. what would we be saying if it was completed? nothing, because we never remember the "right" calls (except the 99 yd td, but what if that failed? like it was a safety or fumble or something? i would be afraid for beck's life). Lord, had we turned it over on that play Beck would be out. Probably in witness protection. Even if we had completed it I wouldnt have liked the call. It took guts, gotta give him that. But they were ready for it.
  17. laugh out loud. unbelievable cognitive dissonance. IF You think Im complaining about the win Im not. Incredibly proud of everyone today. Near perfect in most aspects. All Im saying is that with such little time left on 3rd and short deep in your own territory a pass was not a go to call. Ameer was capable of picking up 4 and giving us contol of the closing minutes. Instead our young d stepped up big and Im glad they did.
  18. No way. A strong senior year could get him a high pick next cycle.
  19. This story is via my wife: My wifes mother had a brother pass away last year and they were very close. She has a monthly tradition of sending a mass text to all her family members each month that is like a little haiku poem about a rabbit. After her brother passed she never deleted him out of the group text. One day after sending it she received a message along the kines of hop hop hop from her brothers phone number. The number was no longer in service and until recently was unused, nobody could figure out why or how she received the text.
  20. that's the point though. people complain about us not playing to win the game, but playing not to lose. then you have an opportunity to keep the ball and finish the game, so you take the chance. the run would have got stuffed, they were selling out to stop it, that is why there were two wide receivers wide open. ta can make that throw, he just did not there. it was the right call if you want coaches who call games to win and not just to not lose. More often than not TA in that situation has not come up big. The run could have worked, they were exhausted on D. A double was churning up yards. Im all for playing for the win but gambling like that was not the right call. A pick gives them the game. An incompletion stops the clock and gives them life which it did. When your 8-4 on the year and have dropped 3 straight bowls, you try to take the lead and the clock with you. Anything but a catch could have given them the game. We were fortunate.
