Unsustainable is the number of Boomers that die/ leave the workforce on a daily basis. Every Boomer that dies is one more hole in the economy, one less buyer of goods, one less consumer to pay into the US economic system. Every Boomer that retires is one more hole in staff that won't be filled. We simply have not reproduced at a rate to maintain our economic growth engine, either through consumer demand, or producers of goods. This is why businesses are going to subscription business models. Then they are essentially selling the same good to the same customer every year. But, not all businesses can do that either. Without immigrants our economy, as we know it, will not survive.

Yeah... this was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO true of the last true freshman we had playing QB. Husker fans are so rational and understanding that I'm sure Dylan will receive a pass from the fan base when he makes rookie mistakes. Two losses and most of the board will have him listed as a Bust* and be debating whether we burn DK's shirt or give Haarberg a chance.

The guy who was in college for 7 years. Saw playing time his sophmore year maybe. Transferred twice and ended up in Illinois or Indiana and played against us 5 years later.

Septak, Green, Lindsey and Richenberger were busts, the rest were all major contributors and multi-year starters. 4 out of 9 doesn't constitute "most" the list.

Great news!!! Glad its official! Are we expecting any other flips? Was shocked to see the number 2 recruit in all the nation only bumped us to the 23rd ranked recruiting class. Regardless, great day to be a Husker. Go Big Red!

Sad thing is, we are seeing several successful starting QBs give up their job at current, top tier schools to chase $$$$$. Boosters are going to have to be ready to pony up to keep DR, even if we do land him. Ge could start next year and be gone the year after to Ohio State or Bama and a $5 million price tag. QBs are going to be like successful coaches on steroids because they only have 4 years to maximize their value.

Scott Frost's offense behind an offensive line he'll inherit from Iowa would be downright dangerous. Anyone thinking different if fooling themselves. Under Frost we moved the ball exceptionally well, but didn't have the brute strength in the lineman in the red zone. Iowa does.

So I thought Casey Thompson thing was a coincidence, but now I am seeing it reported elsewhere. Is he really back?

Better doesn't mean good. A 2 star oline will make a 5 star RB/QB look like an FCS player. Maybe we achieved 3 star Oline play, I'll concede they did play "better." Doesn't mean that Oline shouldn't be upgraded, and my point take is it should be a higher priority than RB. I'd rather have 5 star oline play with 3 star QBs/RBs, than a 3 star line and 5 Star skill.

2nd best rushing team in the BIG, only when we played other BIG west teams. Our oline was owned by every team we played from the east, and lets not forget that a lit of our rushing yardage came from QB scrambles that only happened because opposing team's dline got so much penetration that they failed to maintain contain. "We're the second best rushing team in the BIG" is a lazy take that ignores the quality of teams we faced and the obvious line deficiencies masked by outlier large gains that were created much more by QB athleticism than oline play.

I don't get this- QB - great, a postion of need. WR- great, also a position of need. RB???- I think we have a strong group. What's missing? The MOST IMPORTANT PIECES!!! Where are the 5 star Olinemen transfers that will make it possible for the skill players to do their thing? McCord and Riola, Etienne, etc can't do crap if they don't have protection/ holes or get injurred because of our Swiss cheese oline. Bring in the big uglies dang it.

Worst case scenario, DK backs off his commitment due to the Raiola situation, signs commits another team and then DR rethinks things and sticks with Georgia and we are suck with no one.

Derp. You didn't fix anything, Haarberg might not be the best QB out there, but we would not have won those games if he wasn't on the field. No other QB on our roster would have won those games. Haarberg was the primary contributor on offense. We won because of him, to argue otherwise is dumb. That he may not be the long term solution for us a QB does not dimish his significant contributions in our wins.
