  1. He's had a foot out the door before, I just love him so much I want him to want us.
  2. Going to disagree here, as well. All of the lineman I can think of in the NFL for NU have been average servicable journeyman lineman at best. So.. Average here. Average there. Just average.. Which is what you expect from 3 star guys that "blossom".
  3. Too soon to dub it a backfire, imo. What he did was focus on bringing in talent. The talent is mostly still in its 1st and 2nd season. Again, you tell me you have a team of first round draft rookies in the NFL and I'll tell you you are in for a long season, even though they may all be great players, they are young.. That is what we have. A very young team across the board. And it shows. It shows in mistakes, inconsistencies, not being dominate individual battles on the field regularly, etc. It shows in physicality. It shows everywhere. Not fair, imo to say he swung for the fences but then only give him 2 years with those players to dub it failed and ask him to bunt instead. I hope to god he doesn't try to bunt at this point. See it through until 2022. When those boys are seniors and juniors and the fill ins behind them are not missing all over the place, it should start to roll. If it doesn't, sure, we can try to move on being a sac bunt team.
  4. Which this state and program will never be happy with. Scott is swinging for the fences. Let him, because in our hearts we know that is the only way our program can be proud of what is on the field.
  5. This isn't very fair. No O-Lineman blossom in college. The Pro game is a 24-7 365 job and all players blossom there if they are going to.
  6. Outside of Jaimes, I don't see any draft worthy player here, and Jaimes only qualifies due to his size and the desperate need the NFL needs for bodies of that size. Farniok misses because, although he has size, he lacks athleticism and motor. We could use Honas, Domann, Bootle, Stille and Dismuke imo. They make the 2021 team better if they are here.
  7. Ill be shocked if he does go to Minnesota. Coach is a fraud and the program sucks and the mascot is cheesy as s#!t.
  8. The Big10 isn't interested in hearing our thoughts on much these days.

    B1G Week 8

OSU and Huskers eternally solidify their bromance when they play each other for the 2nd time on 12/19 to in a team effort to get OSU 6 games. Notice, I did not say we would ever agree to help OSU go 6-0.
  10. *knocks on wood* I am also starting, and I mean just barely starting, to find I actually have some trust in this defense. After the final Pelini years, Riley years, and the past 2 years, it has been a loooooonnnngggg time since I have watched games where we need our defense to step up and I was not completely filled with dread. I like this feeling a lot better, it borders on confidence this year. I hope it continues to become a trend.
  11. Not going to lie, I am most excited about this because it means that maybe Chinander isn't beyond salvaging and that would ultimately be a huge boon for our program. If our DC somehow can work out here at a top level and continue to build and his scheme can work with the right players, consistency in coaching staff on that side of the ball would be a huge positive for us moving forward. I know people hate him, but those people like to use stats to validate that view. Can't then ignore stats when the stats improve with upgraded athletes at the LB position. And yes, he still lacks an edge rusher.. If we can do this with a bunch of underclassman and no edge rusher....Worth giving props where they belong, imo. And also more time to build.
  12. @Stone Cold It's Christmas time man, and you are not spreading much Christmas cheer around the forum lately. I fear somebody has urinated in your Wheaties. Take a breath, get a new bowl, take a walk, buy a keg, something. It's bad around the U but it's not THAT bad.
  13. IF Milton is still Milton and IF Milton even wants to consider the program, you bring him in if only to show the Grimes' and Fidone's of the world you aren't paying them lip service when you swear you are working to bring championships to Lincoln. We worry about possibly losing a QB that got beat out by Milton but we should worry about all the cruit's we lose if we continue to struggle to field an offense.
  14. Much better to let them get here thinking it's sunny beaches and paradise and then really pull the ol swicharoo come December.
  15. That is also the way to reduce chance of a successful play by half and become twice as easy to defend. Additionally, neither of our QB's have been shown to be super effective passers on the run. The pocket is a much safer place this year than it was last year, so maybe the coaches aren't insane and feel that throwing from the pocket is actually our best chance at moving the chains.
  16. Another college game I was watching this weekend the topic came up in the announcer booth that the QB was a RS Frosh and was doing pretty well in his first season under center but when they spoke with him about it he brought up his predominantly SR O-line and RB's and how much of a boon that had been for him because they help so much with the security in the pocket but also just knowing so much about how the offense is supposed to work that if he makes mistakes or doesn't understand something perfectly, they guide him through it. Really brought home, at least in my head, how irrational it is to expect a team predominately composed of underclassman to be consistently perfect. I think of my expectations in the NFL if there was a team of rookies.. Wouldn't be super high and there is a reason we all temper expectations in those situations when a bunch of first year players end up at key positions. Breath.. Let these boys grow up. It is going to be sweet to watch when the patience gets rewarded over the next 3 years.
  17. Each class has approx 25 recruits, so he's had 18 transfers. 75 recruits, 18 transfers, his rate is more like 1/4 to transfer city, far cry from 2/3..
  18. My personal opinion is that was Scott coach speak promising Luke success in the program without explicitly stating that it would come from the QB position.. At least that is my hope.
  19. We've all had that thought, but those of us with brains realized that starting over with yet another true freshman behind center is probably not actually what needs to happen.
  20. Sure, and it's easy to see those type of obvious miscues that hurt drives.. I am not trying to sound harsh but it is far from a given that we take out all 4 poor snaps from Cam yesterday and those same drives result an anything more substantial than they did with the bad snaps. I get it, those snaps killed those drives, but to assume that the offense we have seen was going to take those drives and do a whole lot more with it is a pipe dream at this time. The miscues where Farniok misses his block completely or the RB reads the wrong gap and takes a 2 yard loss vs 5 yrd gain or when the recievers are running into each other mid field are also drive killers, just not as glaring. It all comes down to a comedy of errors which is heartbreaking, but pinning offensive woes on Cam is a bit unfair. There is a huge pot of offensive woes, his just happen to dribble out on our shirts so we are blaming them. If the kid wants to be a quarterback you can't make him run routes.
  21. There is an element here as well that involves him developing as a center. Like, the human being part. If his future is making millions as an NFL center (admittedly a what if,) then it isn't right to just move him and strip that away due to bad snaps when admittedly he is playing through turf toe and being a total team warrior out there. They said they injected his toe at half and he sure looked a lot better second half. Easy to criticize the guy, and it is frustrating for sure. But we had guys that used to fall on their asses untouched presnap, so I'm willing to give these guys a break and let them work through it.. We can see he's a hell of center in every other way.
