  1. While nobody would condone TO's role back in the day, the fact of the matter is that those were very different times and society and culture moved very differently. Our society has progressed in a number of very positive ways, which is good. At that time, domestic abuse was very often not taken seriously. It wasn't even until RBG won the Oklahoma alcohol drinking age case in 1976 that women were even officially viewed as an actual person in the court of law, and even that was via a work around. At the same time, East Coast/West Coast culture with pervasive gang violence was at its peak. All of this led to a downplaying of what was considered mild criminal activity at the time. You need only understand that the national media was on all of this like white on rice and still made no actual impact in meaningful changes at any major school, NU included. TO didn't "hang" for anything because the judge and juries of the time didn't consider him to be mishandling things in any sort of gregarious manner.
  2. How did he handle it poorly if he didn't hit her and instead just walked away? I'd say that is about the best way you could handle a really bad situation.
  3. Some fair assessment and some not as fair. I will agree that offensive output is not going to cut it, but there is no question we game planned this game that way. Can we find offense when we need it in future games? Time will tell. That said, this game was coached to knock CU out of what they wanted to do. Running with them was never going to result in a W for us. To say the defense was helped by missed 3's is a bit unfair as, time after time, we ran them LATE into the shot clock. That was the game plan, so it isn't fair to say they missed a lot of those "forced shots" so we were lucky. Those shots were missed because of the working man's D we chose to play this game. The gamble w/ the game plan is that when you put so much effort into D, your O will suffer. Ours did, but ultimately the plan led to the W. I'll take it however lucky and ugly it was. Honestly, even up 10 with 2:30 left, I still assumed we'd fold and lose. For the most part, we played like a big boy team down the stretch, something NU teams don't do well very often.
  4. Not a more factual and impartial source out there..... Please. Did he hit her or not?
  5. Chinander's defense did that last year a lot too, and he doesn't even have a job this afternoon.
  6. He averages 30 yard/game. We didn't lose a star here.
  7. Teams don't care to cover him because they aren't worried about 4 yards/catch and they will take their chances that he will drop about as many as he catches.
  8. What, no point?!? Cmon Rhule, you're BLOWING IT!
  9. He showed a clear lack of professionalism when he showed up to his first big boy presser with a giant chaw in his mouth. He should have been talked to about it at the time. That he wasn't should have been a red flag to the entire state that Frat Party 2018-2022 was going to be our program's worst freefall.
  10. I think I was looking for coaches that had experience with Rhule but that were also multi time Broyles award winners. Admittedly, I am never happy.
  11. I don't love the staff yet. Was hoping for some real home runs.. Maybe those are the other 4 that are coming.
  12. Not so sure it does. Wasn't super impressed with his senior season stats and also has not shown even close to being the hardest worker in the room. WR tend to be diva's in general I know, and obviously he is physically gifted. Hope the kid proves me wrong but I wouldn't be surprised to watch this one bust.
  13. I'll say this.. Everything I see about Rhule indicates this was a tremendous hire. He is doing things at an exponentially more professional level than Frost ever did. He is grounded, has a plan, doesn't just say his plan but puts things into action to achieve the plan. While he may or may not be the savior the program needs, what I am certain of is that if he can not get it done, and I mean this... Nobody can get it done.
  14. No. If he found out his wife was cheating on him it would have been ok for him to leave the house and check into a hotel for a few days why they figured out counseling or separation. Physically attacking her? Never a reasonable response.
  15. Mickey is not going to have the funds to come after the U.
  16. Probably true but I think to dismiss much discredits the victim. This isn’t a Maury situation. This was, by all accounts a strong family with a lot to lose. It stinks.
  17. Logan’s got nothing to offer Rhule. He was Scott’s vision of heir apparent to Adrian after Adrian jumped to the NFL at the end of his junior year. Problem is. Adrian wasn’t as good as Scott thought and Logan isn’t anything close to as good as Adrian.
  18. Ya, those contract hangups with 70million over 18 months to the 3rd power times infinity squared almost ruined everything.
