  1. I'm talking about the totality of Nebraska Football and who they will play beyond just next season - which is probably their best chance they will have to win more than 8 games. Nebraska isn't always going to be handed some of the easiest schedules in P5 football. They've squandered one such season, they won't have many more before the difficulty increases dramatically. I don't disagree. I hope and think Nebraska will improve. What I don't want is for fans to consider anything other than Raiola leading this program to the expanded playoff/NY6 games/other big time games a failure. What I'm saying is that if Dylan averages 7-5 by the time he's done with his career here and manages to beat Wisconsin, that would be a major success.
  2. Nebraska isn't in the B1G West anymore. They won't have under luxury of playing talentless teams each week. They have so many issues they need to fix. They can't even field punts. I think that instead of dreaming about the playoff, Nebraska just needs to focus on bowl games.
  3. The real point is that Nebraska Football lacks the talent to meet the expectations fans are placing on him. They need to fix a lot of problems unrelated to the QB to get to a 9-3 or 10-2 season in the new B1G. Start fielding punts, then start actually returning them, then try not to rely on the QB run game so much, then hopefully the coaches learn how to properly manage the end of games, and then develop a pass rush that doesn't rely on blitzing, then try not to lead the country in turnovers, fire Satterfield... the list goes on. Until they improve all areas of the team, reasonable expectations of Nebraska Football should remain at the 6-6 or 7-5 mark.
  4. Which reporters? There are a lot of CFB expansion accounts that make vague predictions and are often wrong. The ACC GoR seem extremely strong. At this point the money doesn't really make sense to add any teams. Furthermore, the B1G doesn't need to improve the football product on the field. The conference is already extremely difficult and they will likely have 2-3 teams qualify for the playoff every year. Adding FSU and Miami will just create a conference where the top teams all end up 9-3.
  5. I'm aware, I'm responding to a poster who claimed Raiola was going to leave Nebraska as a Sophomore. I'm trying to temper the sky high expectations Nebraska fans have and to not put so much pressure on this kid. Nebraska is a football team that can't field punts - let alone return them - so let's focus on the little things before we project that an 18 year old recruit revives the corpse of Nebraska Football.
  6. Look two-time Trump voters, I understand that you aren't the smartest people and you got conned into voting for embarrassing morons who's political movements culminated into a mob of supporters storming the Capital. But do the world a favor and stop voting and stay home next November. There's no harm in understanding that your political choices are dangerous. Voting isn't for you and that's okay.
  7. Yeah, Trump might be regurgitating white nationalist talking points, but Joe Biden feels... old. It's 50/50 to me.
  8. Yeah, now look at the 15 high school receivers recruited that weren't one year rentals. They were non factors. The runningbacks have be equally as bad.
  9. In fairness, that's mostly because the running backs and receivers have been terrible. The only way Nebraska was able to move the ball was through QB runs.
  10. Nebraska doesn't have the pieces on offense yet. Hopefully the receivers develop, the line continues to improve, and they find more talent at Running Back. They still need a lot more to become a 9-3 or 10-2 team, especially with the schedules in the new B1G. I know that, but I'm not aware of Nebraska sending a QB to the NFL after playing just 2 seasons. It would be unprecedented if Nebraska is able to do that.
  11. I think this is setting expectations that are way to high. We need to collectively pump the breaks on saying Nebraska is going to develop an NFL QB in just two years, something that has never happened in the history of Nebraska Football. Let's hope he's good enough and Nebraska surrounds him with enough talent to have a 9-3 season at some point.
  12. Emotions and grievances? MAGA is a detail oriented political movement that is predicated on policy, sir. It's why the leader of the movement is a focused policy wonk who only solicits advise from a close circle of the foremost experts in a wide variety of fields, they aren't hacks who's only expertise is saying false things to Breitbart News. They work together to come up with real solutions to everyday problems that concern Americans. They just don't publish or run on any of that policy because it's so brilliant that the evil Democ-RATS will steal it, just like they do to elections. Do you really believe that 75 million voting Americans are susceptible to outrage theater and who's political opinions don't line up with reality?
  13. I will have to look, but I don't know if call center data is published. My source is 4 current coworkers hired in a wave from the IRS. They worked at a call center. They have all kinds of stories. By far the most common person calling were retirees. They were also the most apt to be in tax trouble. This was followed closely by small business owners, usually caught making dubious tax claims.
  14. I think what sets Nebraska's NIL apart from competitors is the professionalism. If you sign here, you get paid, tax assistants, and no rugs pulled out from under you. Unlike the amateur operations at schools where the boosters run the show - Auburn, Florida, etc. Keeping the operation professional and having a reputation to deliver on promises is a big deal.
  15. I couldn't agree more with the idea of reimbursement. I also agree with closing certain complicated tax loopholes. But keep in mind that the #1 demographic who works with the IRS for tax problems are retirees. Next are small business owners. Most of the individuals trying to call and work with the IRS aren't people who fell victim to a complicated tax code, it's people who didn't realize their traditional 401(k) hasn't been taxed yet.
  16. Very true. Ultra-nationalist Russians in the Kremlin are making choices for Russia that are terrible in the short term and catastrophic for Russia in the long term. The war in Ukraine for them has gained them a small amount of territory in exchange for economic ruin and and already dire demographic situation cataclysmic.
  17. I really thought Nebraska's line would be terrible this year because they were embarrassingly bad in 2022. They improved each week and Bryce Benhart is one of the most improved players on the team. He's probably just behind Nash and Robinson as far as improvement goes. Getting him as a walk-on is a steal.
  18. Before recent funding increases thanks to the IRA, if you called the IRS to ask questions about your tax situation wait times were often 8 hours or more. I had a colleague that had to call each morning for multiple days to reach a person to help him. I think funding direct filing - instead of through private companies - is a good thing long term for the vast majority of filers. That doesn't mean they're won't be hiccups at first, but 15 years from now this will be a good thing. Funding levels should reach the point where the return on that spending plateaus or diminishes. In addition, spending should reach the point where the customer service arm of the IRS reaches a point where tax payers can get their tax questions answered in a reasonable amount of time.
  19. Russian War doctrine has essentially been "the Russian people can endure more suffering than you can". They had an official say as much just after the war began. This is why most countries don't include women in conscription. It's not because men make better soldiers - women are actually much better at shooting - but because women can do something men cannot, which is to have babies. You can go to war every 20 years if the population of women is relatively unaffected. Men are expendable to military planners, women are not.
  20. We should really keep expectations in check. If Nebraska gets Raiola, which isn't a sure thing, is unlikely any big time players come with him. Nebraska is already significantly over the scholarship limit and Rhule is trimming the class of a few reaches to keep current players on the roster.
  21. I much prefer actual policy to solve problems. But hey, maybe the Republican policy response to Russia is hidden in a trove buried with their other agenda items: proof a Jewish Space Lasers, evidence that Biden is corrupt (to be released any day now!), infrastructure week and an alternative to the Affordable Care Act.
  22. I suppose we should send some Thoughts and Prayers towards Russia and hope that stops their military ambitions. It works for gun violence in America after all! EZ PZ!
  23. No kidding, getting a power 5 level player as a walk-on would be a huge win. He has legit offers from peer programs, so getting a player like this as a walk-on is huge.
