  1. Exactly. I've been telling people on this board that finishing arund 23rd isn't much different than finishing 50th. At the end of the day, Nebraska is going to finish 20-25th in recruiting. Pretty much the norm for Nebraska over the last 10 years or so. This class is average for Nebraska. He can do a better job of retaining the top talent they do get to campus. Hopefully Rhule can improve the ranking or at least bring in a higher % of blue chips in future classes.
  2. I think the problem is that your third party vote makes the two equivalent and is why Biden is likely to lose if No Labels becomes a thing. "Sure, Trump is a lying authoritarian who's undermined American Democracy, he's hypnotized a base of morons who don't live in reality and is an extremely dangerous person to have in charge. But Joe Biden is old and the vibes are bad. You know, the Inflation Reduction Act to actually address climate change and cap insulin prices was cool, as well as bipartisan bills addressing Infrastructure, microchips, gun control, and a spending agreement is exactly the kind of moderate policy the median voter yearns for, but the guy is a dinosaur." You do see how "protesting" both equates them and is the same rationalization a voter in Wisconsin/Arizona/Georgia would do, yes?
  3. Voting 3rd Party? Just fill in the Trump bubble and save yourself the time.
  4. Manchin wants to pick the No Labels party because he's a Democrat in a state that Trump won by 40 points. He's running against an extremely popular Republican candidate and has almost no chance of winning. Manchin knows his political career has a very short life expectancy. No Labels gives him a chance to stay relevant instead of looking at polls where he's down 30 points to his opponent.
  5. If people cared about this, they'd vote differently. Unfortunately huge swaths of the electorate are stupid morons and they don't care. The world is collectively getting the warming planet - and the looming energy, economic, environmental, and humanitarian - crises they deserve.
  6. A No Parties Label not only had no chance to win - the chances are the same as Margot Robbie returning my DMs - it almost certainly dooms Joe Biden. The election is going to be extremely close. If a No Labels party ran, they'd need less than .25% of the vote in swing states like Arizona/Wisconsin/Georgia to swing the election. The reason it hurts Democrats is because their voting coalition is a lot more fragmented than that of Republican voters. Republicans tend to be narrow issue voters and are going to vote for Trump regardless. Guns are good, Gubmint is bad. DemocRATS are ruining the country for reasons made up in their heads and doesn't exist in reality. Democrats have a coalition that needs to work in lockstep - minority voters, coastal voters, white college educated voters, blue collar union voters, etc. - that often dislike each other and are a lot more prone to breaking rank.
  7. In theory the government should spend the maximum amount on food stamps until that return is even. In not sure if a study has ever determined that amount. In practice, it's also why our agricultural business is heavily subsidized to keep food as cheap as possible.
  8. Sounds like the type of President moronic voters deserve to have represent them.
  9. Every dollar spent on food stamps returns more than a dollar back to local economies, for example.
  10. Yeah, what can you do. I really thought I couldn't be anymore clear about arresting/charging Hunter Biden because... those are my exact words. By all means, do it. At the same time, I understand why Trump voters do this. To rationalize their worldview and voting behavior they behave this way. After all, nobody wants to be the gullible rube grifted into voting for a corrupt moron, something that was obvious to anybody paying attention and who they received plenty of warning about. Nobody wants to be the person who voluntarily voted for a guy now under indictment for numerous crimes and who undermined America's democratic stability. To make themselves feel like they aren't the bad guy, they create an alternative reality where the other side is just as morally bankrupt and corrupt as they are. That way their vote which enabled all the terrible outcomes doesn't matter.
  11. Other than the immense irony here, I want to point out that I'm not trying to "absolve" Hunter Biden when I said he should be arrested charged with any crimes he's done. I also have no idea what your last few lines of this statement even means. Again: if there are crimes involved with him investigate and charge him. I don't give a s#!t about Hunter Biden and my identity isn't wrapped up in political figures. What I do want to push back on is the ever present right wing idea of the corrupt deep state being weaponized. "Biden would never let his DOJ properly investigate his son" other than when they did for FIVE years. "Well I'm not a lawyer but the National Review says that's a sweetheart deallll". Like I truly find the constant victimization and restructuring of reality right wingers put themselves through to be astonishing.
  12. There was literally a plea deal for multiple charges a few weeks ago after an investigation into Hunter Biden that spanned *FIVE* years by the DOJ.
  13. It's also specifically designed to be a financial black hole. Any attempts to track equipment with things like bar codes, to audit allocated money, or do anything of the like is shot down.
  14. Again, the main issue is that any other candidate probably loses.
  15. He's old, but I'm pretty happy with his accomplishments as a Democrat. The most important thing is for dems to the Presidency. Republicans will win the Senate in 2024, so the real goal is to just win the Presidency to continue To control the judiciary process. There isn't much a Democrat can accomplish policy wise given that reality, other than to hold up judiciary appointments. I think Biden is slightly better than 50% right now, any other Dem would be less. The 2024 election is going to be extremely close, it's going to come down to 1-2% in 4 swing states. Furthermore, incumbency candidates enjoy a slight advantage. Throwing that advantage away in an election likely to be decided by less than 50,000 voters across 4 states would be borderline suicide to the Democrats.
  16. Why would the Dems "mix it up"? Why would a political party replace their previously victorious President - with an incumbency advantage - want to throw that away with somebody else?
  17. If Hunter has been, prove it and charge the guy. This isn't complicated. It also continues to baffle me that the guy isn't involved in the White House, government, policy, or anything. The continued fascination with Hunter Biden is weird, but understandable from a morally bankrupt political party with no policy goals and one that functions on pure undiluted outrage theater. I get it: to justify your vote, you have to scratch and claw at something. And if it isn't something that exists in reality - employment, job creation, American stability, gaining credibility on the world stage, etc. - might as well make yourselves feel better about Trumps obvious corrupt nepotism by latching onto Hunter Biden.
  18. The Earth goes through natural cycles and all those liberal scientists are WRONG. But yes I need new homeowners insurance for my condo in Tampa and that's Hunter Biden's laptops fault.
  19. Right wing obsession with Hunter Biden is easily my favorite thing. If they can't complain about job growth, inflation, macroeconomic conditions, weakening a long time enemy in Russia, bolstering our NATO alliance, turning America into a manufacturing powerhouse, or bettering the lives of Americans by doing things like capping insulin prices, creating student loan repayment programs, or investing in infrastructure, you better bet your bottom dollar that voters are going to respond to HUNTER BIDEN. Newsflash: unless your brain has been turned into mashed potatoes from Newsmax, I don't think many voters care about Hunter Biden. He's not in government.
  20. I'm sure they're reasonable and will no doubt give Joey B credit for the boom in domestic oil production.
  21. You actually have to click the tweet to see the entire graph. You see, he took office in January 2021, when production was much lower than it is today. In the near future, the United States will set domestic records for production. Now, my voting habits don't really move with this kind of thing. But your party is sort of the "drill baby drill" crowd so I trust, being the reasonable voters that they are, will properly reward Biden with this policy victory by giving him their vote in 2024.
  22. President Brandon needs to stop, otherwise the United States will set domestic oil production records next month. Between his action on energy, low inflation, unemployment, robust economic growth, skyrocketing investment in US manufacturing, infrastructure spending and his actions to safeguard NATO... I have no choice but to vote for Trump. We can't have all this, we need the historical embarrassment back in office.
  23. Good! I see you enjoy this display of free speech, unlike states led by a particular party attempting to pass laws regulating what people can wear in obvious violations of Free Speech. Hopefully your dedication to the First Amendment continues when you enter a voting booth next year.
  24. Unless it's pink and I'm in some s#!thole state like Arkansas.
  25. Thanks Joe! Is this when I go to a rally with a blue hat on? I'm trying to figure out how all this works.
