  1. The reason Nebraska loses to Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota is because they don't do the little things. The reason Nebraska hasn't beat a ranked team in 7 years and gets blown out by top teams is because they aren't very talented. Our problem is recruiting because it's average. Finishing ~25th in recruiting isn't that great, the level of talent brought in for that class isn't much different than the class that finishes ~50th. The difference between those classes is the size of the class, not the quality of the players. Unless they start recruiting 10 blue chip (4/5 star) players every year, it'll be extremely difficult for Nebraska football to rise beyond where Minnesota/Iowa is today. Except now the schedule will be more difficult.
  2. It says a lot about the roster Scott Frost assembled when nearly the entire thing will be flipped by the start of next season. The offensive line hasn't been gutted just yet, simply because marching out the same starting 5 next year is only marginally better than trotting out nobody. It isn't. The class is going to finish with five 4* players, it'll be ranked ~25th and will be extremely average in talent.
  3. Recruiting makes it pretty much impossible. The level of talent teams are acquiring is a lot higher than it was in the past. The sport has always suffered from a parity issue - but it's worse than ever and seems to be getting worse each year. That isn't to say that Rhule won't be successful here - I just think Nebraska fans should probably recalibrate what defines "successful". For Matt Rhule, that probably means turning Nebraska into what Minnesota is today. That is, a team that wins 7-8 games most years, has the ability to win 10 games, but lacks the talent to compete at the top.
  4. He's a pretty terrible candidate who's only trick is invoking the word "woke" into every delusional thought right wingers have. However, if you talk to a Republican voter for more than 3 minutes it becomes quite clear why they're unable to muster a better candidate that isn't just Equate™️ Trump.
  5. A guy ran a red light in front of me yesterday. This is a distraction and Biden (The Big Guy sitting right next to me) needs to be fully investigated for this obvious PsyOp.
  6. I think I used to be in this camp, but this would be a LOT of effort to try and cause Ukraine to make a mistake - where Ukrainian military leaders may just stay disiplined and choose to ignore what's happening and focus on the front lines. The trade is that this causes the Russian people to question Putin's ability to lead the country. The perception of strength is really all he has in a kleptocracy like Russia. What a wild time.
  7. What are they supposed to do? Look in the mirror and come to the sudden realization that they vote for idiots that are a danger to the country? No. It's best to move onto the next grift and express some faux outrage at Hunter Biden.
  8. Events like this make me long for the time our moronic President would live tweet classified information and detail American policy by tweet. Alas, we don't have that anymore. Damn, it would be really funny.
  9. Add Kentucky to the poll? Looks like he's going to announce on Tuesday.
  10. One of the receivers, I think it was Tolbert - got into a foot race thing to outrun a cop on campus. The cop caught him. Good times.
  11. Bo Pelini gave up on recruiting and offered 3 kids from Edna Karr high school back in the day.
  12. According to ZipRecruiter, the hourly pay for a local TV news anchor is $31 an hour. So roughly $63k per year. Your disbelief of human caused climate change is astounding. Is it that difficult to accept? I don't understand.
  13. I think they're pretty low paid and the hours are pretty weird. While you believe this, it is absolutely not true. Human factors have greatly influenced climate change. The effects of which humanity is only beginning to feel. Whether it's water shortages in the American southwest or insurance companies refusing to insure New homes in coastal states, these issues are only going to get much worse.
  14. I'd counter argue that the circumstances which allowed Michigan State to be successful are no longer around. Penn State and Ohio State are no longer programs dealing with sanctions, Michigan has a competent head coach. Talent consolidation at the top of college football has caused those rosters - already strong - to have fewer weaknesses. To be fair, I don't think Nebraska has the ability to win the conference. But I do hope they can turn into a 9-3 program with better recruiting and player development.
  15. Nebraska did a terrible job developing players, I'm not arguing they haven't. But developing 4 star players is the only way Nebraska is going to have a chance to compete with the top 4 teams in the conference. "Developing" low or unranked players is a risky strategy that many teams try to employ, most unsuccessfully. As stated, whenever Virginia Tech, Arizona, Oregon State or any number of schools hire a coach, they all inevitably say they want to develop players and they all express confidence in doing so. The reality is, that's difficult. My take is simply a function of years of data spanning thousands of recruits and dozens of teams. The odds of a college football team becoming successful recruiting low ranked players is extremely low. Only Utah, Wisconsin and perhaps Oklahoma State have built years of winning 9/10 games. And even amongst the teams that turn low ranked talent into stars, Utah is the only team to win a conference championship. The new B1G schedules present a challenge that even the best developmental program in the country - Utah - would struggle against.
  16. A lot of staffs have this experience and they have chosen not to offer these players. They either know something 64 other P5 coaches don't or they're wrong and the odds of an unrated player becoming a contributer are very low. I will be very happy if Nebraska starts winning games. I'm not going to act like taking unrated players is a good strategy, because it's not.
  17. Nebraska beat out Missouri Southern State for this one. Matt Rhule is going to have to turn Nebraska into the best developmental program in the country with the talent they're bringing in. This is pretty pathetic.
  18. It's best to trust the consensus of all power 5 coaches than assume that your preffered teams head coach is a football genius that can see things in prospects that other coaches cannot see. "Trust the coaches" is what fans of every talent deprived team says when they recruit players nobody else wants.
  19. Let's hope Matt Rhule and his staff is able to see things dozens of other P5 coaches don't.
  20. The problem is that when huge chunks of the roster need development, it's a bad omen. Dozens of other coaches have seen the film and works camp circuits. They chose not to offer. This recruiting is flat out not good enough.
  21. According to 247 sports, his only other offer was Eastern Illinois.
  22. As a totally legitimate Federalist Society judge, I wholeheartedly concur with this astute assessment. As a Texualist, I beehive believe that the original intent of the Founding Fathers was for everybody to own a gun (the well regulated part is the hair trigger installed on such weapons). And no, I will not be applying my Texualist jurisprudence on other law. Agreed. Jesus loves AR-15s, especially with armor piercing rounds.
  23. If the Founding Fathers could see this, they would no doubt be high fiving each other while humming the Star Spangled Banner. This is exactly what they envisioned when designing the 2A.
  24. President Brandon is also ruining the country by turning our economy into a manufacturing powerhouse.
  25. Republicans acknowledge bribe audio might not exist. Hopefully that answers @nic's question on if these are valid accusations or something made up in the right wing media sphere.
