  1. "Progress Ohio" is a left leaning pollster that is hardly neutral. Their polling is designed to prop up causes they care about. Now, I wish it were true, but Tim Ryan will not win there. Vance is going to win by high single digits. A political environment where Ryan wins means that Democrats will likely expand their house majority and win Senate races in Wisconsin, possibly Iowa, and control the Senate with 53 or more seats. That's simply not going to happen.
  2. He's running one of the worst campaigns in recent political history, his opponent is running a good campaign and has a history of connecting to voters, and Vance is going to win by 8-10%. Such is the way states like Ohio have become a lost cause.
  3. 1. Wisconsin - The best and most consistent team in the West. 2. Purdue - A team with a good Quarterback and coach, with a very favorable schedule. 3. Iowa - consistent but lacks offensive firepower. A more difficult crossover schedule prevents them from finishing higher. 4. Minnesota - Decent head coach and solid pieces. Has a chance to upset Iowa or Wisconsin to finish higher. T-5th - Illinois - Difficult schedule but they return a pretty good RB. They've beat Nebraska two years in a row. I hope that ends this season. T-5th: Nebraska - Extremely favorable schedule but because Frost can't develop players, we're going into the most favorable schedule in years after hitting the reset button on offense. Could finish with any record between 3-9 and 9-3. I think they go 6-6. 7 - Northwestern. They'll be better than last year but it'll be tough sledding for them.
  4. I agree with you in that the final candidates weren't that desirable. I was a Pete Buttigieg supporter, and still think he'd be a dynamic candidate. However, he simply doesn't have the support necessary to win among Black voters. The coalition of Democrats necessitates a boring, mediocre Joe Biden candidate. Republicans typically reward whoever is willing to be the craziest. They found a person in Trump with no shame, sense of decency, and who's lack of intellect allowed him to stumble into power.
  5. Good, abolish the SSA, . If the morons in West Virginia, and Republicans at large, want to do that, I say go ahead. Start actually forcing Republican voters to suffer the consequences of their moronic choices. The sooner Democrats stop protecting Republicans from themselves, the better.
  6. We can dispense with the false equivalency. Only one of those names actively attempted to overthrow Democracy, presided over a pandemic where his political party peddled nonsense during a global pandemic resulting in the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands, and will be known as an international and historical embarrassment. All of that in his last 6 months in office. Let's not act like Hillary or Joe, as annoying as they are, should even remotely be considered in the same ballpark as Trump.
  7. Anybody voting for Republicans right now is a complete and total moron. If that's offensive to you, it's meant to be. You're the problem with this country. You're a historical embarrassment. What they're doing is so obvious it could be a villian from Austin Powers, and you idiots would still vote for it.
  8. Trumps odds of winning against any Democrat is probably 55% or higher. With the bias of the Electoral College, it may not be possible for a Dem candidate to win. Trump, if he runs, will almost certainly win the Republican nomination. He should be the odds on favorite to be in the White House in 2025.
  9. Unfortunately they're going to dominate elections. The United States is going to slide and deteriorate, until Democracy is sufficiently eroded in many states. Situations like Wisconsin will be extremely familiar, and the Urban-Rural divide will continue to worsen.
  10. I think it's a safe bet that he won't, but the concern is what does the offense do without a QB run game? Frost relied on it and the results are abysmal. Now we have to hope that an entire change in offensive philosophy - as well as roster changes at key positions - somehow mix into a successful cocktail. It's going to be difficult.
  11. 2AM averaged 12.1 over his career at Nebraska and Logan Smothers ran it 24 times against Iowa. Thompson averaged 4.8 carries per game as a starter last season. I agree with your second point, we used our QB as an RB because the offense relied on it. Hopefully that changes with a QB that we hope is a better passer. I'm simply skeptical that the offense can reliably change into a short passing attack or establish a meaningful run game from our RBs because the offensive line is so terrible.
  12. I'm not concerned with his throwing. I'm concerned that the team has relied on AM running the ball 15 times a game for the offense to be effective for the past 4 years. Thompson simply can't do that at his size in the Big Ten. Hopefully Frost stays away from the offense enough for Whipple to do his thing.
  13. Exactly. These brainwashed people are too far gone to be saved.
  14. Me and you both. I'll be thrilled with 7-5 if they pull it off.
  15. Public demand from Democrats to at least investigate something. I'll be beyond shocked if Trump faces criminal charges resulting from the January 6th Committee, from the New York District Attorneys office, or any other place. That isn't to say they won't set up Mark Meadows to be the fall guy. Will Trump be charged? I highly, highly doubt it. And if he is, I'm not sure that's great since it simply opens the door for President DeSantis to go scorched earth on the DoJ and Democracy in general.
  16. It's absolutely not going to happen. 50% of American voters would see it as the Deep State attacking their party's icon. It would free up Republicans to erode Democracy even further since their constituency would view it as simple retaliation for charges against Trump.
  17. It would appear as though Trump is going to run for President, with the announcement coming after the midterms. Being a true American patriot - and a firm believer of America First policies - if he loses to DeSantis (however unlikely) - he will throw his full support behind his candidacy and in no way institute a scorched earth policy against him. His desire to be President is in no way a grift to avoid criminal liability, civilian lawsuits, or to use the power of the Presidency to enrich himself or the upstanding Patriots who support him.
  18. I'm not hoping they fail. I'm simply basing my assumption on having: 1. Seen the current RBs play. They're serviceable, but I don't see any making an All-Conference team. Rahmir Johnson may do well in Whipples offense as a pass catcher. 2. Frosts history developing backs during his tenure at Nebraska has been disastrous. 7 runningbacks have transferred. He used his slot receiver as a RB 2 years ago - causing him to transfer - because the situation was so bad. 3. You are aware that Frost has averaged 3.75 wins per season? He's a terrible head coach who hasn't shown the ability to develop high school recruits at any skill position on offense. For the record, I think Nebraska will be a worse team than last season but finish with a better record of 5-7 or 6-6.
  19. And, simply put, Thompson is much smaller than Martinez. He's 6'2" and 195 pounds compared to Amart at 6'4" 220ish. Martinez played through several injuries because we ran him like a RB because Frost was unable to develop any out of high school, the run blocking was terrible, and he ran for his life on passing plays because our starting tackles were terrible and treated pass blocking as an optional exercise. If we run Thompson anywhere close to Martinez, we're in trouble. That being said, I think the offense will struggle anyway since I don't forsee any RB stepping up, our QB won't be able to carry the load on the ground, and we'll have to rely on a short passing game which is dubious with our talent and inexperience with a new scheme. We're basically rolling the dice that transfers at the most important skill positions in Whipple's offense - QB and WR - will produce without growing pains.
  20. https://www.yahoo.com/news/poll-many-red-state-trump-voters-say-theyd-be-better-off-if-their-state-seceded-from-us-160454042.html We need to let them. Their states are resource sucking s#!tholes subsidized by taxes from blue states. We need to cut the leeches off.
  21. Top 20 should be the minimum, but it's extremely difficult to crack the top 15. Nebraska needs land 6-8 4* players per year at a minimum, I think that's realistic and doable with the resources put into the program. Does doing that mean we win the conference? Probably not. But you at least have a punchers chance if once-in-a-decade breaks fall your way. I do find your post about being banned for being pessimistic interesting - I'm typically the harshest poster regarding recruiting and our overall performance and have never been banned or warned that I can remember.
  22. My apologies, I misunderstood the quoted post and it's clear what you meant after re-reading it.
  23. Let's not act like Democrats - often promoting annoying policies like 'Latinx', mediocre solutions to the homeless in California, or strange 'social justice' initiatives designed for virtue more than substance - is even remotely similar to the Republican party destroying a 250 year old Liberal Democracy so they can institute white nationalism via the Judiciary and pass tax cuts for the wealthy. They aren't close. But hey, if you can point to the Democrats and their attempts to overthrow an election, point to a time when their states sued the government to prevent free healthcare funding for their citizens leading to untold harm to thousands, or manufactured distrust about COVID leading to the unnecessary deaths of a few hundred thousand people, I might be inclined to agree with you. The current Republican version of America is bad for the world - global warming, nation building, torturing citizens of other countries after invading them for no reason, the list goes on. Domestically they lead to this. Warning: this is graphic video released by the Austin-Statesman concerning the Uvalde school shooting. The weapon you hear was legally purchased. Like I said, Democrats protect them from their own stupidity. After actually paying for the consequences of their vote by becoming poorer, sicker, putting up with crumbling infrastructure and economic calamity, they can vote for somebody else. If they'd rather remain in those circumstances because big Gubmint is oppressive or Critical Race Theory is so terrifying, let them remain in their situation.
