  1. I would probably be on board with all of these suggestions. However, I'm unsure how I feel about district lines at all. I think proportional Representation for each state reduces future risk of extreme partisanship taking hold.
  2. Here ya go, a link to NASA talking about how humans cause Climate Change (since you're unsure and all) I've taken the liberty to not source a fringe group known for guerrilla reporting or entrapment tactics: https://www.google.com/amp/s/climate.nasa.gov/causes.amp As far as the video, I've made my stance clear. Their goal is to sow doubt in the education system, which is why you're so happy they caught him. I see one crazy teacher being bad at their job, you see the education system being "exposed".
  3. Not to deviate from piling on @Archy1221 much, but I do want to ask this thread: if you could change the process of elections in this country, how would you do it? Personally, I would get rid of districts and institute proportional representation based on Ranked Choice Voting. I'd probably also increase the number of house seats every census. I would also favor the Presidency to be won by the national popular vote winner. As for the Senate, I'm unsure of what election reforms would make it healthy.
  4. Hahaha, pretty rich coming from the guy not sure how much humans are causing climate change or isn't convinced that Abbot or DeSantis aren't harming their constituents with their COVID policies. Yesterday I accurately attacked the motivations of a far-right group who captured video of one idiotic teacher. Their goal is convince the political right that the Education system is a liberal brainwashing machine in order to sow distrust. This sort of anti-intellectual populism is dangerous. The pandemic is demonstrating that right now.
  5. It's amazing that somebody can dismiss basic facts and claim intellectual curiosity as a pretext for doing so.
  6. It's really amazing how far down Trump has taken the Republican Party. Where do they go from here? Are they going to develop a platform of ideas? Do they even have to in order to win elections? They've really fallen off the deep end.
  7. Well, my issue isn't this particular story. It's the organization as a whole and their motivations for capturing it. Do you think they were concerned about a single teacher doing his job correctly or do you think they want to use one example and have crazy right-wingers extrapolate it out to the entire education system?
  8. Do you think the purpose of the video was to do anything other than to get a bunch of right-wingers to say anything other than "see! The education system is brainwashing kids to be liberal commies!". Because if not, what's the point? To reveal that a single teacher was bad at his job? Lastly, that source is dubious. If Archy1221 or any other conservative on this board wants to be taken more seriously, they need to stop posting sources from the right-wing fringe.
  9. Oh yeah, the organization busted for numerous fake videos (including the WaPo as I cited above) has been totally vindicated. I haven't watched the video because it's obvious what they're doing: capture dubious video and sell it as if it's a massive systemic problem in the education system. Insane right-wingers are convinced education is part of a liberal indoctrination. Sowing distrust of education isn't just stupid, it's DANGEROUS. The pandemic has demonstrated this. The human cost to what the Republican party is doing is absolutely disgusting.
  10. Firstly, my issue with transgenered laws are social - I'm not sure how I feel about biological females competing in men's sports (for safety reasons) or vice versa. I admittedly don't know how much of an issue this really is, but I suspect not much. Overall it does not bother me much and at the end of the day we should at least protect LGBTQ people when it comes to employment, marriage rights, and anything similar. Secondly, don't move the goal posts on climate change. You voted for a guy - twice - who's position was "it's a hoax by China". The few in your party acknowledge climate change but try to hedge to their base by claiming there is doubt about if human activity is causing it (therefore we don't actually have to change our behavior, how convenient!). There is no doubt that human activity is causing climate change. It ranges from "an extremely high amount" to "nearly all of it". Both scenarios involve fundamental changes to our economy to fix, something Republicans are unwilling to concede.
  11. This is pretty wild. SCOTUS is dominated by Republican nominees, despite only receiving more votes in an election once in 33 years. The sad thing is: there is no way to plausibly fix it.
  12. What about my post is insane? Republicans enjoy a bias when it comes to controlling all three branches of government. They need fewer votes to win. The bias of the electoral college is R+4.4%. Meaning that a Democrat has to win by that percent to have a 50% chance of winning (this translates to millions of votes). The bias is growing. It's possible it reaches 5% this decade. The Senate is similarly biased. Here is a good tweet about what adding states would do to the innate bias of the Senate: As far as transgender issues are concerned, I'm personally really unsure about a lot of it. However, Democrats policy regarding transgender - or at least what surrounds it - is worth debating. The difference is that nobody is killed if a biological male plays sports with women. Unlike the Republican party's denial of Climate Change. Or their politician of masks/vaccines.
  13. I find it amusing that you scrolled past the Newsmax host saying something racist or the gas station with a wonderful Trump sign complete with white supremacy imagery and you poked DEMOCRATS for being snowflakes on a mascot.
  14. Oh heck, Republicans have won more votes exactly ONE time since 1988 in Presidential elections. They don't even try to win the popular vote because they don't have to. We haven't even discussed the Senate - where Democrats could add the states of DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands - and still face a Senate favoring Republicans and rural states. Or the House where Republicans control gerrymandering in more districts - because the state governments have also been gerrymandered. If it wasn’t for the complete and total ineptitude of your party (I mean seriously, getting your base to deny science for votes is tragic - how you can support them is mind boggling) they would probably control all 3 chambers 6 years each decade, with splits the other 4. I think the Ivermectin is getting to your head. The dose on the bottle is for a 2000 pound animal, you gotta take less to account for the size difference.
  15. I don't have to watch a video of a flat earther to know what they're saying is stupid. The best thing to do with people like that is to not give them the time of day. But hey, glad to know that Project Veritas works on you. My personal favorite moment of theirs is when they tried to discredit the WaPo's reporting on the misconduct of Roy Moore. They tried to entrap a journalist into reporting a fake sexual misconduct allegation. The Post ended up with a Pulitzer from that reporting and we ended up exposing Project Veritas, it's quite funny. But hey, you falling for (and spreading) Project Veritas reveals a lot about who you are. It confirms your views are not only out of touch with reality but also they shouldn't be taken seriously. Alas, because the country gives more voting power to the Archy1221's of the world, the people he supports - currently enthralled with getting their own citizens killed by a virus - are going to hold onto and consolidate power for decades. Congrats!
  16. I didn't even click on it. I don't dabble in right wing news outlets faced with numerous lawsuits and a history of editing videos. Additionally, the right wing anti-intellectual argument that education brainwashes kids into being left leaning is absolutely hilarious. Newsflash: the reason highly educated people voted for Biden is because they live in reality. The reason right-wingers are putting a deworming drugs up their asses and are dying of a disease we have vaccines for is because they see dumb misinformation videos from outlets like this.
  17. Jesus @Archy1221, this is a new low. Which is impressive for you. This group is known for editing videos. It should not be taken seriously, nor should the individuals who continue to spread the idiotic videos they make.
  18. Just leaving this here. I've had many discussions in this thread concerning Republican politicians pushing policies that are killing their constituents. Here's an interesting graph. EDIT: I would expect that if Florida was included, the results of this graph would be even more stark.
  19. I think we can all find solace in the fact that the second half of our schedule is going to make the decision to fire Frost easy. If you think it's bad now, just wait until Nebraska is playing teams that are actually good or have more talent.
  20. What, in your opinion, is currently trending in the right direction under Frost? What do you see that warrants keeping him on for another season?
  21. If you needed any more proof that Frost is in over his head, this is it.
  22. Adrian struggled, but even when he plays well the team loses (as evidenced by the last several years). His coach does not call plays that suit his limitations as a passer. He does not call plays - or his offense is so conceptually flawed - which allows a run game to develop. I think what you need to grasp is that his coach is failing not just him - but his entire team. The reason Wan'dale transferred is because his coach put him in positions to get injured. Adrian is failing not just because he struggles on certain throws (he does) but that his coach does not recognize it and continues to put him in a position to fail. I don't think Brett Bielema was trying to light up the score board during 8:04 drive. Unlike our coach, Brett understands how to win games and that doesn't always involve running a play every 20 seconds.
  23. You don't think the head coach has anything to do with play calling? Those long developing routes require him to stand in the pocket. His head coach continues to put players in positions to fail instead of succeed. Look, Adrian is the only threat we have on offense. Brett Bielema said as much after the game. Is that a good thing? No. Adrian is bad. But it tells you how God awful the rest of the offense is. Unfortunately football is composed of two halves.
  24. Defense was the stronger unit, but still not good. The 8 minute drive they allowed to open the second half was brutal. Brett Bielema had his way with Chins on that possession.
