I believe we are on the same page then...but why not just let the quarterback read it every time and have faith he will read it correctly...I understand you aren't the OC so it may seem ridiculous to have you guess what "he is thinking"...I just think the benefits of him reading it correctly outweigh the negatives (a little cost v. benefit analysis with a QB pull going for big yards while a simple give goes 4 yards, if done correctly)...overall, I just don't understand why the coach needs to specifically call a designed give...if our QB can't read the option that is a problem that needs to be fixed (it's actually unexplainable)

I agree with you as I honestly think tommy could have had 200 yards rushing if he were to read the option right instead of handing it off every time (I dont know if that is a called read but it's terrible and a bad idea)

I believe you are on the money...Bo can take over the defense and special teams because that is what he knows, but to take over the offense he will need some help. Bo knows nothing when it comes to offense. I just think it will be one Bo's hardest decisons of his career as I believe he will be forced to choose between retaining or firing a close personal friend (Beck)...it's almost like one of those dramas you see on TV

Our offense played awful tonight...there really isn't an argument against that..we should all just move on and maybe find some creative posts to keep us busy during the bye week that don't involve the same old topics (i.e. need a new QB, need a new OC, SEC bias, etc.) that have been debated for weeks

Honestly, I'm not trying to argue with you and agree with most of your analysis. But, if you think we need a QB coach, where do you think we should get the money to pay for that full-time QB coach? I would think paying for a QB coach would come from the offensive coordinator's salary if he can't get the job done....Unless you think TA isn't the quarterback of the future which is a whole new argument to discuss No, i think that this team is in the most capable QBs hands at this point with TA. He's a brilliant runner when he's on (and he needs to stay on) and a good leader, although he tends to get a bit more blame-y after turnovers which I don't care for. Nebraska is not a place where money is a problem. Especially for football. We just built a new basketball arena for crying out loud. Money is not the issue. I think the harder thing for this staff to do is going to be cutting one of the ol' boys loose to replace them on staff with a QB coach. If they want to win and have a dominant offense under Beck, it has to be done. Absolutely has to. if not we have to hope he moves on and we hire an OC who knows how to coach QBs. If Beck stays and no staff changes are made, we will continue to see inconsistent QB play game to game and have an inconsistent offense overall. I just don't get the "send in Fyfe or Stanton" crowd. That's not going to fix anything. The issue is systemic. I know I might seem crazy and annoying because I basically say this on every thread, but why doesn't our QB keep it more often...the worst thing that happens is that we get stopped 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage..but think about all that open space in the middle of the field if the end has to actually consistently account for our QB
