Well said, Josh. It's not like some of us fans didn't blow a gasket when the announcement was made. I know I did. I'm happy with things now, especially after hearing the coach's interview this morning.

I'm sorry I'm tired of programs in this conference accepting bullsh#t mediocrity. Coaches are the number one reason why we are behind other conferences, yet certain teams like to either hang on to conservative coaches hanging on to play books from the 80s or hire crap coaches that no other major P5 team would have even considered. I want to play against the best so we can be the best. I don't know wtf happened to Nebraska fans to make them accept this crap, but these are not the Nebraska fans I know. The Nebraska fans I know would be demanding excellence. Not rolling over and going "Oh well" I have to admit that I was crapping bricks when I first heard the news about Mike Riley, but at that time, I knew nothing about him other than his win-loss record for the past few years. After reading up about the man, I'm optimistic. I'll give SE the benefit of the doubt and assume that he knows what he's doing. I'm not accepting "crap" by thinking that this might be a good hire. I've seen several "splash hires" go to other schools and fail miserably. I don't think a fan base that is unhappy with 9-3 seasons is one that accepts mediocrity. We do demand excellence. 9-3 doesn't sound bad, but there was no indication that it was ever going to be any better. You can't win championships every year, but it's nice to have a good shot and win a few.

I believe the email was to notify the players about a meeting tonight with their new coach. I'm not sure how he could have handled that better.

I have no doubt that he can succeed if he brings in the right coordinators. I think poor coordinators were what sunk both Pelini and Callahan. If Bill Callahan had had a good defensive coordinator, he might still be at NU. Hiring coordinators is part of the job, though.

I would assume that these people get permission before hand? I don't have a problem with it being free, but the guy should have asked.

I don't understand why the guy thought it was o.k. to invite a bunch of people into the school to use the gymnasium for free. Who the people are is irrelevant and has nothing to do with the events taking place at UNL. He's lucky he only got stuck with the bill. I would equate it to letting a shop lifter pay for an item after they got caught taking it.

I don't use Twitter, but what I've seen of it, I would be happy to see it go up in a ball of flames. People seem to say things that they would never say in person. Things that are said get taken out of context or misinterpreted. A couple of jerk fans make rude comments to players (or coaches) and all of a sudden, all of the fans are jerks. Some people are jerks in person, but most people would not say things in person that they so boldly say on the internet. I have always supported the players and I always will. I think this is true of 99% of the Husker fans. A few comments by jerkwads should not be interpreted as being representative of the fan base. I would like the players to know that the NU fans do appreciate their efforts, and we do care. The few jerkwads that are throwing insults should be ignored.

Cant completrly agree with this as far as winston is concerned. Wasnt gharged with sexusl assault so hotta say he difnt do it. But if he did i dont think he deservrs a second chanfe. But as ive said at least fige times on the hoard in different places, even if he is welcome back im not sure he comes bagk. From what ive heard he just really doesnt like it here. I agree. Sexual assault is inexcusable. Pulling your wanger out is a bad decision.
