Why should we hate you..that would be like hating a poor gutter dog that for once found a mostly uneaten steak in a dumpster. The Hawkeyes have a long, long, long, long way to go before their program is anything but one more date on the calendar to me. Hawkeye fans are quick to resort to "It's been 20 years since you won your last championship" and that does seem a long time...but not as long as "forever"....Keep your program relevant for 20 years Iowa...then I won't snicker when you try to talk your lame smack. Point of fact...our program hasn't been relevant at any time since we joined the B1G and for quite a while before then. Don't embarrass yourself.

They were just what we thought. Very basic, and very stable. Stable enough to take advantage of our mistakes. I'll cheer for them in the Big10 Championship. hope they win, then hope the get absolutely biatch slapped in their playoff game. Yeah, yeah...Big 10 status and what not...don't care. I ran into several Iowa fans after the game and was very congratulatory and wished the well. Except for one young drunken idiot...walking up to Husker fans and yelling "12 and 0" in their faces..he got to us and did the same thing...I was ready "Yep...12 wins this year, and still 0 championships". Got the expected "F--k you" response...lol. I don't think that we should continue to trot out the whole Championships thing. I really don't. We haven't won a conference title (or anything else of significance) in nearly two decades. Give it a rest. makes us look really bad. We need to win something, anything before we keep talking about the good ol' days. Otherwise, we are just Michigan with better colors.

What would your reaction be if Iowa said that about the Huskers if we ever get to play for a conference championship again? Come on, there are threads for this drivel, this isn't it. That said, I applaud the Hawkeyes for coming in and getting the win. They did what they needed to and finished their season strong. They were already headed to Indy, so this was a bit of a trap game, but they overcame it and won the game. We didn't lose, they beat us, they won. Heckuva job for Ferentz and his staff. Great season for the Iowa players and they have at least 2 more solid games ahead, maybe 3.

The lucky ass MSU win... Lucky...or maybe we stole it after our receiver ran out of bounds, either way, that's the win we have to console ourselves with until next fall.

We just went head-to-head with the number 3 team in the country. Three weeks ago we beat a top ten team. What the hell do you want? Us to actually win the games we should statistically win. BYU: Led the game 28-27 with :03 left. Lost on a Hail Mary. Miami: Rallied in the 4th quarter to force OT. Throw an INT on the first play of OT, with a bonus unsportsmanlike penalty to essentially give Miami the win. Illinois: Led 13-7 with :55 left. No timeouts for Illinois and Tommy is given the option to pass, which he so happily complies with, throwing an incomplete pass to an albeit open Devine Ozigbo. Given the sieve the secondary was at that point, Nebraska was bound to give up the big pass play, and they did, and lost 14-13. Wisconsin: Led 21-20 after Wisconsin missed a FG with 1:30 left. Wisconsin has all 3 timeouts, and Nebraska runs 3 uncreative totally predictable plays up the middle, running a total of :25 off the clock. Given the sieve the secondary was at that point, Nebraska was bound to give up enough plays to put Wisconsin back into field goal range, which they did. Wisconsin hits a FG and wins 23-21 Northwestern: Held the ball for almost 18 more minutes (note: football's a 60 minute game), ran 30 more plays than Northwestern who was playing a true freshman QB and had just gotten beaten senseless by Michigan and Iowa. Purdue: Going up against the worst run defense in the Big Ten with a backup QB, Nebraska throws the ball an astounding, mind-boggling 55 times in a 55-45 loss, which required a 4th quarter rally after being down 42-16. Iowa: Nebraska ran 39 more plays against the Hawkeyes today and held the ball for 13 more minutes (note: football's a 60 minute game). In a windy day, Nebraska scored just 3 points when going against the win and held Iowa, a team who had excelled on 3rd down ALL SEASON LONG to 0/8 on 3rd down. But no, 4 interceptions from Tommy Armstrong quelled any chance of another Nebraska upset. Sad to say, good teams win all of those games.
