The thing with changing conferences is that the schools in the B1G haven't known us as a contender. I don't think they care much for what we did 20 years ago. If we want to be feared, we have to win now. Michigan State wasn't feared ten years ago, neither was Wisconsin. Both are very much in it year after year now.

After last season, do we still have a basketball program? On topic, I think we sh!t the bed early and give up a couple of turnovers that allow Goldy to score and that's the difference. No 10 second drama.

You failed to include a former Husker. I agree with what the OP said and would add this: Barry Alvarez went 1-10 (0-8) his first year at Wisconsin. 5-6 (2-6 and 3-5) his next two seasons. His fourth year? He won the Rose Bowl. He modeled their program after the Devaney regime at Nebraska. Built it from nothing. Yes, it can be done.

If this season ends and we scrap out 6 wins and an invite to the Foster Farms, Quick Lane or Armed Forces bowl, would any of us travel to the game? A West Division title seems out of reach, so what else do we have to play for? The question is if we make it to a lesser bowl, would you go?

The fans of other B1G teams I have talked to are sad that we fired Bo. I think that they would throw a huge party if we hire Frost!

You ridicule other fan bases? I don't....unless they're throwing piss bombs. Maybe that is a word you don't understand. Read the board. We (in general) constantly praise ourselves for being better than other fan bases because we don't _____ (fill in the blank, boo, they can't touch our sellout streak, whatever...the list is so long I can't even do it justice). Other fans work hard to buy tickets, gear or whatever to show support for their team. We only truly support winners. It makes us the same. Sorry you can't see that.

I couldn't agree more with everything the OP has said. I have travelled to other stadiums and seen their fans mock our fan base. The past is just that, the past. There has been little to truly be proud of in the present. We need to win in order to say we have a championship tradition at this point. Our fans are incredible (when we are winning), they were a tremendous asset yesterday. Yet, in some road blow-outs, I see our fans fleeing the stadium at halftime. Maybe there were medical emergencies or something, but in Indy there were none left by the end of the game (except me and a guy whose girlfriend was a Badger)...We have become fair weather fans. Plain and simple. We are everything we ridicule other fan bases for being.

Not in the Big Ten. We should crawl back to the Big Twelve where we belong, then I say HELL YES WE CAN! This was a bad move for us, our program, our culture.

Don't look now but Rutgers is tied with Michigan State. As it turns out, you have to play every game, they all count and have 60 minutes of football. Rutgers. Beating MSU.

You have an interesting definition of bright spot. I saw a guy get outplayed by Joel Stave, missing open guys left and right and throwing out of rhythm. He ran well and played hard, but his performance was not good. Perhaps some credit is due to the Wisc linebackers for that. Just saying' The wind was crazy. Neither team did jack sh-t when against it. Maybe that had an impact on the passing game... My torches aren't lit, that's all I am saying. This regime needs time. Any new staff does.

WHO would come to Lincoln at this point? Seriously, who? We aren't who we used to be. We don't intimidate our new opponents, they didn't worry about us from 1970 - 1994, they certainly aren't worried in 2015. We are who we are. Get used to it.

No. No you wouldn't.You can still be excited during the season with just 1 loss at this point and still be in contention for a B1G west berth. At this point I just hope the season is over faster than slower. We have nothing to play for. I'm going to MN next week because the trip was booked months ago but we are a lot more excited to go to the NFL game Sunday. Our games means jack sh#t You are quite the fan. Congrats.

This. Exactly. Wisconsin is just as beat up as we are. Maybe more. Yet, they didn't quit. Their kicker shanked one off the goalpost yet got a second chance (that should NEVER have happened) and snuck it through...good teams play 60 minutes. They were the better team today. Maybe not for all 60 minutes, but the stats show that they outplayed us in every significant category. We got beat. Likely by a better team. So let's cheer for them as they roll out of town like we say we do, regroup and try to figure out where we keep going wrong. There's a lot to play for yet this season, all is not lost.

Because the coaches are out there on the field executing the plays (or not)??? Time to face the fact that maybe, just maybe our players aren't as "elite" as we want to think they are. In the B1G they have choices of campuses, St. Paul, Evanston, Ann Arbor, Bloomington, Madison...many much cooler and more fun places to be than Lincoln. The rest of the conference isn't afraid of us and doesn't care about our history. We are just another game on the schedule. We need to come to grips with that. Maybe we should start a discussion about returning to the Big XII...at least some of those teams also remember when we were great.

I think Wisconsin is just better than us. Even in a down year. That's what I am seeing.

The refs are not to blame. We should never be in these positions to begin with. Uh, yes, yes they are IMO, at least part of the blame cause they aren't calling an equal game. You are right, but we have been the RECIPIENT of a lot of questionable calls. They have been equally bad if you ask me.

No. We are f-ing ourselves with stupid penalties. The refs are just calling them.
