  1. Hopefully that had a lot more to do with working for Eichorst v. coaching at Nebraska.
  2. Literally everything about Chase Daniel. I loathed that guy at Mizzou. He torched NU repeatedly and the fact that he's been able to hang around since '09 as a backup QB while attempting less than 100 passes, make tens of millions of dollars AND get a Super Bowl has ticked me off way more than it should. I've never met him but if I did, I would expect him to be a utter and complete d-bag.
  3. Yeah the Arizona situation is going to be really, really interesting. Miller has a monstrous buyout.
  4. I'm completely fine with Moos playing the 'wait and see' game especially with some of the mid majors absolutely killing it at the NCAAs. I personally have a giant man crush on Eric Musselman who has revived the Nevada program after Fox left in 2009. I've watched way more than my fair share of Nevada games this year because they started off en fuego ATS this season and I just kinda followed along. Dude makes Miles look like he drinks decaf coffee plus he's a heckuva in game coach if you watched the Nevada/Texas or Nevada/Cincy games. I'd be tickled pink if Moos got that dude.
  5. Here's a link for the Houstonians for Huskers page. I would imagine they have a dedicated spot for watch parties and other good info. http://houstonians4huskers.com/
  6. +1....I know everyone who posts in the baseball thread says the same thing but dang...they just flat out can't hit at all. It's ridiculous. Gotta think Erstad is going to be under the microscope this year.
  7. He's a special, special talent. Really cool seeing a couple freshman in Lee and Yanni win national titles. On a side note, the most entertaining wrestler of the tournament has to be Tariq Wilson of NC St. Dude put on a show...just let it all hang out like Caldwell used to do for NC State. Popolizio has some good things cooking over Raleigh.
  8. That scramble was crazy, I saw the mat level replay and Martin was in decent position when he had Nickal on his back...Nickal just did Nickal things, popped his hips and that was kinda it. He had Martin's chin...lost it and then somehow got it back...just nuts. I can already tell I'm going to loathe Vincenzo Joseph...a lot. He's the new Dean Heil! The Valencia/Hall match was awesome, that 1st period scramble was incredible.
  9. Medal Matches 141--Red gets a pin late in the 3rd period and gets the WBF over Perry (EMU) and will finish 7th. 157--Berger wins by injury default over Kemerer (Iowa) and finishes 3rd 184--Venz loses 8-1 to Parker (Illinois) and will finish 4th Nebraska should be able to finish in the top 10 of the team race. Future looks pretty bright as the majority of the team are underclassmen.
  10. Medal Rounds 157--Berger gets a super weird TD in OT to win 4-2 in SV over Jordan (tOSU)! Berger will wrestle Kemerer (Iowa) for 3th/4th. First meeting between these two this year although I remember Kemerer winning a very tight match over Berger last year so a bit of a shot at redemption today. 184--Venz continues to wrestle like a grown a$$ man and wins 7-3 over Zavatasky (VT)! Venz will wrestle Parker (Illinois) for 3th/4th. This will be the rubber match between these two and should be pretty entertaining. 141--Red will wrestle Perry (EMU) for 7th/8th. Hat tip to both guys for getting on the podium as unseeded wrestlers in an absolutely stacked weight class.
  11. Guy had one helluva career. It's always cool to see someone who gets every last drop out of their abilities, whether that is athletics or otherwise.
  12. Whoops, I misspoke. Red and Berger both wrestled one more match. Red lost 2-1 in SV-1 against Jack (NCST) and will wrestle for 7th/8th Berger wins 6-0 over Zilverberg (SDSU) and will wrestle in the consi-semis tomorrow.
  13. Yeah Lee was really impressive in how he just worked NATO. Yanni is going to have a slugfest against Meredith tomorrow. I can't help but root for Meredith. Should be some really good finals matches.
  14. 184--Venz just put a beating on Renda (NCST) and wins 11-3 to lock up AA and avenge a loss from earlier in the year! Venz had an unbelievable 6:40 of riding time. To give you an idea of how dominant that is...matches are 7:00 in length. Nebraska goes 3 for 4 in the blood round to lock up 3 AAs. They'll pick up action tomorrow morning.
  15. 165--White drops a tough one 2-1 in SV-2 to Chavez (Cornell). White falls one match short of AA.
  16. 157--Berger wins 6-3 over Fox (Stanford) and is now a 2x AA!
  17. Blood Round 141--Red (NU) with a HUGE pin in the 1st period to knock off 2x National Champ Heil (Okie State). Chad Red is an AA! Not too shabby for an unseeded guy.
  18. R3 Cons 184--Venz whoops up on Bowman (Iowa) 16-4 and advances to the blood round 194--Schultz drops a tough 3-2 decision to Holschlag (UNI) and is eliminated Nebraska has 4 wrestlers left in the consolation bracket going into the blood round tonight which starts at 7p CST
  19. R3 Consis 141--Red beats Turk (Iowa) 3-2 and advances to blood round tonight 149--McCrystal loses 5-2 to Oliver (CMU) and is eliminated.
  20. R2 Consis 197--Schultz (NU) wins 3-2 over Kasunic (American) All 6 of Nebraska's remaining wrestlers are in the consolation bracket.
