Agreed, Vernon Adams looked pretty good at QB in a one year rental. IIRC he missed a few games due to injury and I remember they got roasted by Utah and he got hurt again in that game. Haha dang I forgot Hoke was at Oregon!

The big drop off with Helfrich hit when Mariotta left and they just weren't able to get another top flight QB which isn't too surprising because MM was a generational talent. What really cooked Helfrich's goose was they completely fell off a cliff defensively. It's oddly similar to Solich's tenure now that I think about it.

I could see Helfrich joining Kelly's staff as an OC pretty easily to rebuild some coaching currency and use that as a springboard into another HC opportunity. While I'd love to see Helfrich join Frost's staff as I think he's a great offensive mind I'd be curious how that plays out as there would be a role reversal from their Oregon days and it might not be a good fit. If Frost brings both Walters and the DC with him I wouldn't be totally stunned to see UCF hire Helfrich as their HC either.

I really enjoy the Pick 6 podcast each week as I find myself agreeing with Sam more often than not. Evan Bland has the most perfect name ever. Dude is completely monotone. I agree wholeheartedly with the Iowa rivalry push.

If all these dominoes hit and Frost does end up getting $5.5mm+ from Nebraska that is going to send things into a tizzy price wise for all the other big jobs. Once again the big winner in all this is going to be Nick Saban might as well just bump him to $15mm/yr and get it over with.

I would be absolutely floored if UCF threw $4.5mm/yr+ at Scott Frost. As others have mentioned...where is the money going to come from? If UCF had a pending offer to jump to a P5 conference? Yup, I totally get that. As long as UCF is a G5 school, the threat of Frost leaving is going to be there every year.

Agree @C N Red the UCF AD has zero downside. If Frost stays, Danny White gets a massive boost both in the short term with fundraising and also gets a big national boost. White gets to be the AD who hung onto Frost even when his alma mater came calling. If Frost does leave, White can say, "Hey, we did everything we could to hang onto Frost but when your alma mater comes calling, it's hard to say no".

Ehhhh, I'd say it's more that Riley is the eternal optimist that is always going to try and spin things in a positive light. An old management axiom is "Praise in public, coach/correct in private". We all assume that Riley is going to be gone and I'd be quite surprised if Riley didn't at least have an inkling as well. When you know that the pressure is off, folks tend to let their natural personality out and Riley has always had a generally sunny disposition.

The only real job I worry about for Frost competition (outside of UCF and NU) would be if Jimbo Fisher decides to pull up stakes from FSU and take another job. FSU has nearly everything Nebraska can offer (minus his alma mater) and could put together a stupid huge financial package.

Did anyone find out which member of the media asked Riley about the Scott Frost rumors? That person has some stones. Not a lot of tact, common sense or professionalism, but some serious stones.

It's just a personal thing for me, I find his voice grating. The rare times I do listen to the radio I'm usually tuning into Severe or Russilo (ESPN) over the lunch hour and the 590 guys in the afternoon. I used to listen to Sharp and Benning exclusively in the AM but now find myself listening to more national shows. I'm probably not the ideal target because I'm usually listening to music and talking books in my car.

I wouldn't hate this at all. I've seen a handful of Wazzu games this year and while they're undersized, they can really run. Would be interesting to see how his defense would translate to the Big Ten.

No worries. I'm simply pointing out the sheer absurdity of Pedro's statement. It makes it sound like Scott Frost is skipping down the halls chatty Cathying it up with anyone who will listen that he's getting a bunch of job offers.

Frost is discussing any potential job moves with 5 maybe 6 people tops. His wife, his parents, his agent, his AD (they do seem to have a good relationship) and it wouldn't surprise me if he and TO have talked (no one is going to understand the bubble more than TO). If you can find someone in the group that I listed that would be open to blabbing, I'm all ears.

It would be the delicious cherry on top of the tasty sundae with sprinkles (in honor of MR) if NU nabs Frost and UF somehow manages to completely botch their HC hire.

I get where you're coming from. At the same time, Bahe is probably stretched for content so he probably has to take what he can get. I don't think he can get any of the OWH guys since I'm guessing they all go to Severe's show. That being said, he could have an all star level of guests and he would probably still find a way to screw it up.
