  1. I'm OK with it this Spring, learn the new techniques and the system the coaches want. That said, come August when games are coming around, I would hope that live tackling becomes more consistent in practices.
  2. Not really 'space' but still really cool. http://secondnexus.com/technology-and-innovation/large-hadron-collider-scientists-hope-make-contact-parallel-universe/
  3. It's actually not that big....we just have really narrow seats. LOL
  4. When they were talking about that, I was thinking to myself that my dream hire would be Brian Dawkins. One of the best safeties to ever lace up in the NFL, and alread familiar with us since he was Lee's coach in HS. You'd have a ton of name recognition and BDawk is just a very intelligent guy. He'd be fun to listen to as a recruit. However, I do not know if they've dropped his name on the show before. I can only hope. BDawk would be badass! Probably wishful thinking though.besides being a great player does he have any coaching or recruiting experience at the the college level? Great players don't always make great coaches. He coached Lee's 7-v-7 team and he's also an assistant for a major HS program in Colorado. While he has no college coaching or recruiting experience. He does have limited coaching experience, and more than enough playing experience. The key with him would be how well he can transfer his knowledge to the players. In my opinion, he's worth a strong look. He has the right demeanor and I would classify him as an expert.
  5. Kenny would be an easy transition, already familiar with the staff and players. Then replace him in the AD's office/recruiting staff.
  6. Kenny Wilhite. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=209491633
  7. Surprised to see so many without Jalin Barnett, dude is a stud. He'll be a 3-4 year starter with proper coaching. 1--Jalin 2/3--Davis Twins 4--Anderson 5--Stanley Morgan (going three wide with Morgan, Westy, DPE, Cethan at TE and one of our stud RBs will be a nightmare for DCs) 6--Lee Sleeper--Barry, his attitude and his work ethic might make him the best LB in this class. A position of need, I expect to see him against BYU and have a great 4 years at Nebraska.
  8. I'm not a regular poster here, lurked for a long while, post occasionally. I know of the board you've been banned from, and I'll just say there's no one here as obnoxious or irritating as "the colored rain" here. He claims to post here, but he must save his attitude to a place he has power. Knowing your style, I think you'd be good here.
  9. I swear, I could hear players from the 70s - 90s saying the same thing about TO as Barry said about Riley. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/life-in-the-red/article_fad06380-a830-11e4-a0c7-4bde81edbc98.html#.VMsBrdCwU-k.twitter Don't know if Coach Riley will have the same success, but I'm starting to get the same feeling about Mike Riley as I did Osborne, filled with class and dignity and making sure things are done the right way.
  10. Broke this about 10 minutes before it became public. Work for the press or something?
  11. Seeing it on Twitter. Severe and Football Scoop are tweeting saying it's him.
  12. Troy Walters is the latest rumor. http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=206290990
  13. welp...there went my lunch. Dear GAWD
  14. I like it! Solid work by all the coaches to keep them committed!
  15. So, we are looking at someone from Green Bay, Seattle, New England or Indianapolis? Green Bay WR Coach = Edgar Bennett Wide Receivers; born February 15, 1969, Jacksonville. Running back Florida State 1987, 1989-1991. Pro running back Green Bay Packers 1992-96, Chicago Bears 1998-99. Pro coach: Joined Packers in 2001 Seattle WR Coach = Kippy Brown Wide Receivers; born March 6, 1955, Sweetwater, Tenn. Quarterback Memphis State 1974-77. No pro playing experience. College coach: Memphis State 1978-1980, Louisville 1982, Tennessee 1983-89, 1993-94, 2009. Pro coach: New York Jets 1990-92, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1995, Miami Dolphins 1996-99, Green Bay 2000, Memphis Maniax (XFL head coach) 2001, Houston Texans 2002-05, Detroit Lions 2006-08. Joined Seahawks in 2010. New England WR Coach = Chad O'Shea Wide Receivers; born December 18, 1972, Houston. Quarterback Marshall 1991-93, Houston 1994-95. No pro playing experience. College coach: Houston 1996-99, Southern Mississippi 2000-02. Pro coach: Kansas City Chiefs 2004-05, Minnesota Vikings 2006-08, joined Patriots in 2009. Indianapolis WR Coach = Charlie Williams Wide Receivers; born January 31, 1958, Torrance, Calif. Defensive back, Colorado State 1978-79. No pro playing experience. College coach: Long Beach City College 1984, New Mexico State, 1986-87, TCU 1988-91, Minnesota 1992, Miami 1993-95, South Carolina 2003, North Carolina 2007-11. Pro coach: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1996-01. Joined Colts in 2012. Of coarse, it doesn't necessarily have to be a coach that is coaching WRs right now. I don't see any coaches on any of these teams that have direct experience with Riley. Jay Harbough, who is an offensive QC coach on the Ravens (who just lost this weekend) was a GA/Intern with Riley at OSU, most of the offensive staff knows him and worked either with him or his Dad. He's got good pedigree, not sure if he has the 'knowledge' yet that Riley is looking for in a coach. Plus being a first time position coach, working with WRs at a P5 level is a huge responsibility. Not sure if he's ready, but his name has been floated a few times.
  16. You need to do better than "appears". You need to make facts appear that you know this for sure. https://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1723780 Linda Crump, Title IX investigator for UNL retires in June. This is a Title IX case. Arturo Perez is her temporary replacement until a permanent replacement is found. Linda, with the Dean of Students laid out what he needed to do. Avery does what was asked of him, keep his nose clean, no legal infractions, go to counseling, show remorse, etc. She retires, Art comes in, in a temporary role, does the safe thing after seeing what happened in Eugene and what's happening in Tallahassee and denies re-admission. In his role, he didn't want to open the door to a lawsuit if Avery did something in the future.
  17. Where did this myth of rules being "laid out" for him come from? The university is not going to give rules to someone who has been expelled. And what would those rules be? "Avery, if you see a girl that catches your fancy, keep your ballpark frank parked indoors." Please. This is ridiculous. He was to complete counseling, keep out of the legal blotter, be an upstanding citizen etc. There were some criteria that he had to meet to ensure he would have a good chance of being re-admitted. He did those things, and the new person in charge still felt he was too big of a risk.
  18. Appears last year, Avery talked to the Title IX investigator, who laid out what he needed to do and if he completed that, she all but assured him he would be allowed back as a student. She retired in July I believe, and the new Title IX investigator didn't think allowing Avery Moss to be a student again was a good idea for now. So, while Avery did everything that was asked, it appears the new investigator still felt he was too much of a risk to allow back as a student. Hence being denied. I'm sure the fallout of Jameis and what's happening in Eugene has an impact on Avery's decision.
  19. Has he done anything wrong since then? He was banned from the University for one year. If they weren't going to allow him back, ban him for life. I find it hard to believe he would have stuck around, instead of attending school closer to home, without some kind of commitment from the school. Then again, we know how the Administration handles commitments. He was banned from the university for life. He had the chance to appeal after one year. He wasn't just banned for a year, other wise there would be no discussion and he would be back. If he loses this appeal, he won't be eligible to appeal again for another 4 years, ending any chance of him playing for UNL again.
  20. And being a legacy guy, it just blows my mind that Pelini and staff never offered this guy...not only never offered, but never even seemed remotely interested. Probably got in the mix too late to sway him from OSU, but dammit, he would have been in Lincoln if offered early.
  21. Given the choice between potentially playing for the Raiders and the Huskers, he'd be a fool to leave for the NFL. His best hope is staying another year, and hoping beyond hope the Raiders somehow get a mid first round pick.
  22. We all know Avery wants to come back, but it still up to UNL admissions. It's outside of MR and the football program's hand. From what I hear, he's done all that was asked of him and is hopeful that he will be officially re-instated as a student.
  23. Until the day a Nebraska fan kills historical trees of a rival or rips the scrotum off of a fan of a rival school, I'll think Bo is full of BS that this is a Nebraska thing. And I guarantee, that the negativity, with similar outcomes is far worse at schools like LSU than it ever will be at Nebraska. If he's ever given the chance to run a top-tier P5 program again, considering his short comings, he'll know true fan vitriol and wish he appreciated what he had here while he was here.
  24. Because of why he missed Iowa and chances of missing a bowl game, his draft status may plummet. That does bode well for him coming back next season. He didn't miss the Iowa game because of injury, unless it was glaucoma, and that 'cure' may also have him miss the bowl game.
  25. Same agent Besides same agent, with Orgeron being at USC for some time and Riley being at Oregon St, they have had to game plan against each other in some capacity. Both should be well aware of what the other brings to the table.
