  1. During the Interview with Stai, Ganz told him it was college
  2. What are rules about in home visits by coaches this time of year?
  3. Banker kept calling them that , or a law firm with Davis, Davis, Davis and Neal, so how about "The Firm", i guess we'll see how stout once they can scrimmage a renewed "Pipeline" on a daily basis. Lol. Just having some fun. We have a long way to go but gotta have some optimism and enthusiasm on signing day..... oops wrong forum, meant to put in recruiting, stupid newbie.......... mods please move
  4. nope, he'll be announcing the 2015 National Champion in a column next week........ opens up my saturdays for more yardwork now
  5. Lavonte. David. Speed. Speed. Speed.Nah I'd rather have my linebackers be 240 pounds and get beat to the edge everytime. Do I need the sarcasm emoji?Only if your not serious and your doing that tongue in cheek thing. Otherwise I'm taking you as serious and believe you honestly do love seeing our LBers get beat to the corner everytime. they'll be faster once philipps gets their hips fixed, lol. I actually kinda buy this cuz they all did look a bit stiff at times
  6. i havent worn shoes in my house since i moved to Seattle (and then back), home means slippers and not tracking dirt all over the house. It was pretty common up there to not, probably cuz of the rain.... i know theyre in mizzou, just something i wouldnt of even looked at twice, lol
  7. It also allows this staff to spend more time at a diff position vs chasing more running backs. In this time frame certainly helps the staff to be more efficient
  8. Riley indicating that he is going to hire a support staffer who's sole job is to follow Nebraska kids. I would hope that would include getting out to schools (Followed by Riley and other coaches) and just saying hello.
  9. i would hope that the new staff showing much love might bring a native son back into the fold. At least get another look from them. Yeah go get coached up by someone that blew you off could not be encouraging for the next few years of your collegiate career
  10. Well judging from his defensive hires he likes someone who has been a coordinator as well as an "expert" at their position. The only one i can think of is, couple years in the pros as a receiver, as well as a former off coord and head coach, he even mentioned in the press conf that he's been playing phone tag.... obviously he's looking at Osborne for that spot
  11. could see this one happening, he has ties to Riley at OR St. Just have to think it is someone who is still coaching. Otherwise i would of expected to hear something more concrete.
  12. No wounder we didn't offer with those numbers we would have won more then 9 games and screwed up Bo's record Its a shame really that we are now fighting an uphill battle for a legacy. According to Sean Callahan, had we offered last spring or summer, He woulda been "N". Kinda reminds me of Callahan ignore Mike Rucker's lil brother. Maybe the system Nebraska was running was just not a good fit. Still not entirely sure what that system was...... lol
  13. Solid point. This could reduce parity and give an edge back to the schools that can afford it (e.g., Nebraska). Add to the fact that the NCAA is essentially returning Prop 48 with their academic redshirt rule in 2016, and we could have a recipe for Nebraska to return to prominence. it will only help if you have a solid recruiting program / system or a huge base to draw from. MR seems to be intent on revamping our recruiting so it could help. Otherwise OSU, Bama, USC etc will have the advantage and there will be a smaller pool for everyone else to draw from.
  14. This^ I guess you can be but why do you want to? Why is it fun to just constantly be critical of your favorite program? Exactly! Its like "oh i'm a fan, but i'm more than a fan, there's nothing they can do that will truly justify my fandom, my loyalty and "fanism" (making up words) is more important than whatever it is im supposed to be a fan of, but its ok cuz its my birthright...." i dont wanna hear how long you've been a fan, it means nothing. You are either behind the program 100% or you are not. that is the definition of fan, fanaticism. A change was made, PERIOD. We are entering a new time. Period. Support the program. PERIOD. Go Big Red! Give 'em all a chance! PERIOD. Then critique.
  15. Obviously with my post count, people dont know me. my above post was dripping in sarcasm. for everyone that thinks pelini was influenced with "darts from above" i'd agree with you. But i would also say that less than a year into his job (Osborne was helping out thru Jan) Eichorst had his bellcow coach call him out. If you dont think for one minute that things being said weren't being heard up as well as down then you are incredibly naive. Pelini was not growing. The program was not trending up or down. Things seemed like they were going pretty well with the Riley hire and then Michigan hired Harbaugh and those on the fence suddenly saw greener grass. Harbaugh was going to leave the NFL for one, ONE college job and that was Michigan. Oakland, Chicago, and the Jets all made overtures but too little too late, because he had the Michigan offer. He wasnt gonna come to dear ol' Nebraska U. Please and Thankyou. His dad coached at Mich, he was a ballboy for mich growing up, he played for them. Period. our Harbaugh maybe Frost in 10-12 years. Who will grow as a coach when he is no longer coordinating a Heisman QB. He will grow as a coach when he becomes a head coach and learns to CEO a program. He will grow as a coach when it is all on him, and I will enjoy seeing him progress, i just would not enjoy seeing that process here right now. Now if in 10 years we are looking for a coach and Frost has proven himself and we don't go after him.... I'lll bring the tar and a couple of bags of feathers and look out AD. til then....... Who else was out there? Really? Muschamp? Orgeron? Patterson is on the verge of reaping what he has sown, he's available? Mullen? Riley i am sure has been made incredibly aware of the situation of the program and the bunker mentality. What would you do? Hire a bunch of people you dont really know because thery're a splash? Or do you hire people who's character, work ethic, and ability to build relationships with players and develop them, that you have worked with and trust, and with that are going to define your tenure and give you the best chance at what has eluded you you're entire collegiate career? I'm 100 percent sold on Riley and who he chooses to help build a program with the players on campus. In 4-5 years if it doesnt work out, i'll be the first to admit it. The negativity on these boards is exactly the ridiculous crap that a former coach used to foster a toxic environment. Pelini was our "savior" after Callahan. I dont want a savior or a splash. I just want a coach that is inclusive and can appreciate the environment he is in and use his experience to further "our" program. Happy New Year everybody! Go Big Red!
  16. Sounds good, and i'm contributing the first post, (mods feel free to move), cuz i heard that Riley wants his last shot at winning championships to fail badly so he is going to hire the worst assts he can and will most likely not even fill out his staff, Damn SE!
  17. I can't stop watching this, oh my...... LMAO
  18. Are they being asked to jump? LMAO
  19. Well their D's certainly played better against UCLA than we did, and vs Wisky than we did. I'm just drinking Koolaid for the time being. We will see.
  20. Then obviously all we need to do is stretch the field a lil bit and sneak a 12th guy into the backfield and we'll be fine. Hi everybody, went into a "board shell" (at another board) cuz i didnt wanna post all negative and get trolly. So i figured with the new beginning i'd try a new board. Happy with the hire. Time will tell. I'll give Coach Riley that.
