    Upright freezer question; Does anybody know if the newere frost-free freezers last as long as the more conventional manual defrost (coils in the shelves) type?

      I just bought an upright freezer maybe a month ago, replacing one like your old one. I don't expect to have it longer than 10 years.

      So, you don't think it matters if it's the more convential manual style or the newer fangled frost-free type that affects it's longevity?
