@Enhance and I agree with that policy and have no problem with it. I guess where I'm getting confused and may be wrong is I fail to see how that post or the replies we're interpreted as political in nature. Sure "gun control" is a political issue but a simple social media post that had a gun in the picture...? And the pic wasn't even linked. That is enough get it bounced from mention in a status update? Maybe I'm in the minority here but that seems like an awfully wide application of the intent to squelch political discussion in status updates. I realize there is a forum where we can have wide ranging discussion of these issues so it's not a huge deal. It just struck me as a bit overzealous but maybe that's the new standard now  I'll get used to it, I guess.

And for the record, I hadn't really considered the amount of time it takes to moderate status updates and keep a lid on things. That changes my mind a bit. I suppose it is better to error on the side of caution if it reduces the time commitment to keep things habitable around here
