  1. Good post notherplace93. The biggest problem would appear to be this message board medium and posters who want their point of view acknowledged. When that acknowledgement doesn't come and posters instead push their view (pumper or nellie) then it just escalates and exacerbates.
  2. Why can't Nebraska perform like "X" school? Let's look at some common opponents and what some other teams have done against them. NU 55 FAU 7 FIU 38 FAU 10 UAB 31 FAU 28 Marshall 35 FAU 16 NU 31 McNeese 24 Sam Houston 38 McN 22 NU 55 Fresno 19 Wyoming 45 Fresno 17 UNLV 30 Fresno 27 NU 38 NW 17 Iowa 48 NW 7 No Illinois 23 NW 15 NU 42 Rutgers 24 Wiscy 37 RU 0 tOSU 56 RU 17 There's more and I realize the inherent flaws in comparing scores but, some people act like they can't understand why some of us aren't impressed with some of our wins. This is why. We aren't doing anything that many unranked, un thought of teams, aren't doing to the same crap opponents. We've played two teams with a heartbeat, Miami and MSU. We came ready to play against Miami, so I know we are capable and that is why all these other games are so frustrating. It's not just doom and gloom and complain for complainings sake. It's relevant because I don't think we can play this poorly and beat Wiscy or Iowa or Minny or the CCG or our bowl game. Sorry, I see 3 losses in there somewhere and then we're right back to the question; what has really changed?
  3. Bo has been 8-1 only one other time......2010. Actually made it to 9-1 that season before losing 3 more to get to 4 losses. Let's hope this season is different.
  4. You guys are right, I now see the light. We don't have to play well to win games. We're in the B1G f'n Ten. All we have to do is not suck as bad as our opponent. It's worked so far. Let's see how it plays out long term Cotton.
  5. .....and hopefully start playing well enough to deserve those wins.
  6. This is the best and simplest summation I have seen of Beck. No feel for his team and no feel for the game. Is this Kansas thing real? Would they really want him?
  7. I learned we are capable of playing even worse than we have already shown but still pulled out the win. A good defense and a hapless opponent make a world of difference.
  8. The only thing that is different is our opponents are even worse than usual. There is no other explanation for how we can play so bad and still win games.
  9. This is comical. WTF? Once again we escape with a win, because of who we played, not how we played. Not looking forward to two weeks from now. Our carriage is due to turn back into a pumpkin.

WHO we played not HOW we played. Exactly right. If this was any WHO worth a damn, we'd have our ASS handed to us.

Think I'll re-watch the Miami game again tonight.......cleanse the palate. It would be nice if they would play half that we'll again sometime. GD good thing the B1G is as bad as it is.

Dude the defense was lights out today. Special teams too. This offense though....I just can't take it anymore. It pisses me off that Tommy and some of these players shoulder the blame for this pissant Beck.

  10. Guys at the game- Ameer had MRI, mild sprain of mcl. Optimistic he'll be good to go for wiscy.

Mild....could be grade 1 or grade 2....depending on severity....looking at 1 to 6 weeks....not kidding. He couldn't plant on it which worries me a bit. We'll see.

  11. Another impressive start. Even the most optimistic sunshine pumper has to admit Bo does not get his teams prepared to play. Why do we have to stink it up for at least 2 quarters every game?

      Defense has played great.

Special Teams other than missed FG, Good.

      Offense decent.

      Tommy......meh.

  12. 2 plays by our special teams and one giant cluster fuk otherwise.
  13. So, #24 instead of #19...... maybe we (Pelini/Nebraska) shouldn't be the staff bearers of the bias claims. I guess I'm not going to worry about it until actually affects something of substance. And yes I do realize it is real, I just think we need to take care of us before we go worrying about what others may be doing wrong.
  14. Coincidently, the time frame referenced, 2005 to now........I'm not sure any amount of AP poll bias really adversely affected the Huskers. We've done a pretty thorough job of keeping ourselves from being ranked highly and poll bias has had nothin to do with it. Let me know when we beat a team ranked higher than us, or even a ranked team for that matter, then we'll see if we have any room to claim bias is keeping us down.
  15. It sure is a good thing these polls are virtually useless now. Really, what is the relevance of the AP poll anymore? There is none except people want to see some sort of rankings before the playoff committee releases their first mid season. The AP poll is about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop now.
  16. This is exactly what makes college football unique and interesting, there is no definitive answer to the rankings. The best system is little more than various opinions arranged in haphazard, biased ways. They are trying to screw it up by having a playoff and settling the issue the only way you really can- on the field but, that is just going to take all the fun out of it. What fun would it be for a Michigan fan to know for a fact that they were not the National champs in 1997? Not much fun for them so we have this imperfect system that lets them think they were actually qualified to hold our jock straps in 97.
  17. I'd hold out for the possible playoff game or bowl game. Heck, if they lose in the ccg, you don't want to see that in person anyway.
  18. What gives? Louisville has Adidas and their unis don't suck.

I like 'em and, at the very least, they are way better than ours. I'm a suckered for the gray though. I really like okie states grays.

  19. I'm looking to get a SoundBase or Pedestal for my 50" Samsung Smart TV. I have an older Bose cube sound system that works just fine for anything that comes over the cable box or from my DVD & BluRay players. The problem is when I use Netflix, Hulu, etc. (anything from the smart TV features) then I have to rely on the TV speakers only. The TV speakers suck something terrible. My audio receiver is older so it will not accept the only audio output (Fiber Opti-Link) from the TV and, if I did get a newer receiver, I would then have to change out my Bose cube system also. I'm not looking to spend that much money so I started looking at soundbars and soundbases. I really just need to boost the audio capability for when I'm watching Netflix, Prime, etc. But it might also be nice to use for run of the mill TV viewing, when I really don't need full surround, rear speakers, etc. I don't think a soundbar will work room wise for me (likely will block TV remote sensor and possibly even some of the screen with taller ones) so am planning on setting the TV up on top of a base/pedestal speaker. The bottom of my TV is a little over 7' above the floor. Does anybody have a speaker system like this they would recommend? I am really interested in the ZVOX 570 (mostly because it auto reduces volume on commercials) or the Bose Solo 15. I have not actually heard either one of these and would welcome a less costly option as these run $399 to $449. It doesn't need to be outstanding soundwise, just way better than my crappy TV speakers.
  20. Don't worry. Be happy.

  21. This is a bit too optimistic for me. There is no way I can watch the first three quarters of that MSU game and think we were wearing down anybody. Typically, historically, when we have worn teams down over the course of a game, there has been great success rushing the ball those first 3 quarters. Did I miss something in this game? We didn't wear them down, we jusT played so stinkin' bad that they relaxed. No way to spin it positively but nice try.
  22. Ahhhh!!!!!! The thread starting police! Oh noooo!!! Ya know I could give a fuk but out of 9 lifetime posts, 4 or 5 have been to start a new topic with a brief question or simple statement and all of them would have fit very well in existing topics. Just trying to help out. But feel free to piss and moan anyway.
  23. OP, you might want to quickly review the existing topics of discussion before starting a new thread for every fleeting thought that crosses your mind.
  24. Holy cow. There's a whole lotta football left to be played. This isn't the final four or top 25 yet. I guess people have to flip out over something. I'm going to wait and see what it looks like when it matters. Something tells me it will be lot less contentious when it comes down to it. There's maybe going to be one team with a legitimate gripe when it all shakes out. Not getting my panties in a bunch yet.
  25. Not my position at all.....and not what you said either. I saw Pelini's quote.Once again avoiding the direct questions. Do you happen to be a politician or lawyer by any chance? No Ok, that's funny. *thumbs up*
