I've loved it too - it's definitely been fun to watch. Is anyone else concerned, though, about a faster defense being able to jump one of those quick outs? There were a couple of those against Minnesota where it seemed the defender would have had a decent shot at an INT (& likely pick-6) if he would have anticipated the throw better.

Naysayers? Meh. I've been really pleased with how well Martinez has done so far. That piece of the puzzle is in place, and he's bound to get better as time goes on. We're blessed to have him.

Has he specifically said the decision was FB related? Maybe he just wasn't happy in Lincoln in general.

I just hope what we are seeing is rock bottom. I do not doubt that Frost and company can turn this thing around over time, but man, the product on the field right now is not very good. I hope the players, etc., are able to power through it enough to start building something better.

True, there was a coaching change, and I think that in the long run we will likely be better off because of it, but I am honestly surprised in how poorly we are playing. Is it a case where we overachieved last year and are underachieving now, or did we lose key personnel and haven't developed the new guys yet, or is it something else? It seems like the program is under a pretty dark cloud right now.

Honest question. Were we better last year under Riley? Why or why not.

It's bullying on a global scale. Is the ICC perfect? Absolutely not. But what the statement seems to be saying is that the US will not be subject to international law. Such law is reserved instead for those of you who do not have a trillion dollar military, and who choose to not follow our dictates. It is not justice they are after, it is rule by might. "You don't have a military that can challenge us? Then get out of our f#%&ing way or we will steamroll you." And people wonder where asymmetric warfare (i.e. 'terrorism') comes from, as if it is a big freaking mystery.

Assuming the Buffs have a decent offense, our defense looked to be improved. I love that we seem to have a pass rush, either that or the Buffs O-line cannot pass block. With that said, the D is still going to give up points, so the offense needs to be hitting on all cylinders. I liked what I saw on offense, for the most part. AM played his age, but he is good. He really needs to keep his heroics in check. I hope AM isn't out for long or it might be a long season. Frustrating to watch veteran receivers drop clutch passes. Turnovers are killers. Time management is not one of Frost's strong suits. Assuming we continue to get better each week, we'll be okay. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I miss being geographically closer to other conference rivals, and I also miss feeling that the rival fan bases had more in common with us because of that (NU still feels like somewhat of an outsider to me in the Big 10). But I do not at all miss dealing with Texas. Screw them.
