  1. Not a bad first half, liked the D and most of the O. Armstrong made some mistakes and almost a costly INT there at end of half. Think huskers can hang on to sort up a huge showdown vs iowa. GBR!!!
  2. Would be a huge get. I do like this staffs route with going after JUCO's to help immediately fill some holes.
  3. No matter what system is in place people will complain. The only thing to stop the complaining is to drop rankings all together, and just make conference champions automatically enter the playoffs. The 6th spot being left open for the BCS buster type teams. Then it becomes like the NFL. I don't like that way, but it's the only way to ever cut out "bias"
  4. It's nice Nebraska gets a BYE while Iowa will be coming off a game and a short week, since NU/Iowa game is Friday. Plus, a Nebraska win vs Rutgers gives this team some major momentum and will be anxiously awaiting to knock off a top 5 Iowa team. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!
  5. If we have to start calling Iowa a top 5 team my head will explode. Don't worry. If Nebraska beats them they will have been "over rated." would be (impossible) pretty amazing if we beat iowa then they upset the east winner. i think the west will always be looked down upon by the east, BUT nebraska could be like florida was for a while in the sec east. doesn't matter once you get to the conference championship. Big Ten West vs Big Ten East is very comparable to the Big 12 North vs Big 12 South. Obviously the West being the Big 12 North.
  6. what is Iowa's schedule before us? Hope they keep winning. Would be awesome if Nebraska knocked them out of the playoff picture, and of course that would be a top 5 win for the Huskers!
  7. if it wasn't for the glimpse of hope this past Saturday did for the program, I would be excited for this news. But within the last 7 days things have had a different outlook. 1. We won BIG. Suddenly there is hope we finish this season on a high note, and give us huge momentum going into next year. 2. The hope of MSU win being the win to turn this program around into the right direction...We find out if that is true this coming Saturday. (have to beat Rutgers, otherwise we start thinking MSU was a flash in the pan) 3. The 2016 recruiting class is shaping up to be pretty decent, and may land some surprises by NSD. 4. The 2017 recruiting class is looking to be one of Nebraska's best in decades. So you hope this staff succeeds to keep those recruits. 5. Eichorst has said some things this past week and even done some things that have given me a little more respect for him. IE. bringing in Spurrier to a game, telling Pearlman to hush about the extension talks, coming out and putting his money where his mouth is with Riley. This has been a good week for Nebraska football. Again, Rutgers can derail this momentum quickly, but if the Huskers beat Rutgers, like they should, this program will be seething at the bit to derail Iowa's season and at the end of it, make Nebraska's season.
  8. if a 6-6 Nebraska teams refuses a bowl game I will be flabbergasted. Considering the turmoil this season has been, if Nebraska is 6-6 that means they beat two top 10 unbeaten teams in the same month. This coaching staff might have some major flaws, but I don't think they refuse a bowl bid at 6-6. The extra practices, the extra exposure, the chance to have a winning season, and a little extra money dumped into the program is all a positive. Just make sure Banker isn't the one responding to the bowl invite, and I am pretty sure Nebraska accepts at 6-6.
  9. Forget this 5-7 talk. Nebraska going 6-6 to finish the year.
  10. I know there are certain bowl contracts, but a 6-6 Nebraska team, given their wins and the momentum and the fansbases history of traveling well, one might think they get a better bowl invite that a traditional 7 or 8 win B1G team gets. That be funny.
  11. Me too, which makes if Nebraska wins this that much more meaningful. Oh, and Iowa game determines our post season fate!
  12. I like your thought. We will see over these next two games. If Huskers win out, then yes.
  13. I really dont see Banker coming back as DC, probably a positions spot if Riley doesnt work his butt off trying to get Banker a HC gig or something better for next year. Again, they are probably best friends and I don't see a full fledge firing. But you get a top notch DC here and things change.
  14. Too bad this kid isn't next years group. Wish he was '16! What a playmaker.
  15. CU fans were bad, but their teams were not all that good. I didn't see them as any more of a rival than Missouri, in fact I disliked Missouri more. Colorado was just our forced rivalry because of the conference split. Although they have sent us into our spiral from that beating in 2001, besides their early 00's teams, Nebraska handled the Buffs pretty well.
  16. Please god let this happen.............these Iowa fans have been terrible to deal with this season. Updated bowl projections has us playing Oregon in the Foster Farms bowl in California on December 26th. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2015/11/8/9691220/bowl-game-projections-2015-ncaa-football-playoff we play them the next two years. This could be like how we played Washington over and over. Hope not, Oregon is starting to gel real well, we are not ready to play them.
  17. MSU - Oklahoma Wisconsin - Texas Iowa - Missouri
  18. Any word at all about that silent commit? How huge would it be if it was some big time gamer? Just momentumus weekend.
  19. LOL yes. Definitely thought of Texas for sure.
  20. IF Langsdorff can figure out to run the football ,and utilize our stable of RBs, I am fine with him. He is actually a good QB coach, he just needs a real QB at the helm ,and I think that is what we are all hoping for with O'Brien. You look at his track record at Oregon State and he did a decent job. He had multiple QBs with NFL talent there and also Oregon State had utilized the run with some decent RBs. I have hope for Langs, and will give him another year with Riley. Banker on the other hand needs to be replaced. I understand the long relationship with him and Riley, and I doubt Riley fires him, so I wouldn't be surprised if Riley just gives him a position job, like D-Line. Go out there and hire Orgeron.
  21. if we win the next two games I will be amazed and extremely excited. Chance to go 7-6 would be unheard of considering what this team has gone through and what this entire season has been. I think I said it earlier, but my worst case scenario in Riley's first year was 7 wins. But this 7 wins would be something else, I would be highly impressed considering he turned the sinking ship around in the hardest times. That could also solidify a decent recruiting class. And in the grand scheme of things, Pelini wins 9 games again this year, and Riley wins 7 games, did anyone expect a title his first year? Probably not. Then we can look back and see how well this team played in all their games (except Purdue)
  22. I think Nebraska beats Rutgers, and suddenly our forced rivalry with Iowa has potential to start a real rivalry. For Iowa what could be at stakes is an unbeaten season with a win in the CCG getting them into the CFP. For Nebraska, it could mean a bowl game and a somewhat decent finish to a terrible season. Can't remember the last time I was really amped for our Black Friday game. Might have to go back to early Pelini days where we needed to beat Colorado to solidify the North.
  23. I don't want to go bowling at 5-7. No team should be allowed to go bowling at 5-7.
