  1. who you recommend on twitter? I got Callahan, Christopherson and Sipp.
  2. Ummm if Nebraska hired Bielema i would be asking for Mike Riley back.
  3. I do not think we are 5-0 with Bo still at the helm, 4-1 is likely, even 3-2 is likely with Bo. I have been absolutely outraged since Saturday with this coaching staff. Being located in Oregon I got to know Riley well while he was at Corvallis. However, looking at the overall picture, the Illinois game is really the only absolutely terrible game produced by this coaching staff. Completely inexcusable. BUT, the rest of the games I have liked what i've seen, i've seen reason for hope and there has been improvements (besides the penalties) But i think under previous staff we dont come back from the BYU or Miami games.
  4. Yeah as of recently i've gone with Omaha.com , but was unsure if that was the prime spot.
  5. It was an improvement on the previous season. Well that is true....dang it.
  6. I am out West here, and I use to get my Husker news from journalstar, but that site seems to either not work, or I have to pay to read anything of substance. What's the typical place for Husker news?
  7. Nick Saban had a terrible first year with Alabama, true. But Nick Saban wasn't 62 when he inherited the Alabama program. Regardless of success or failure, I see Riley has about 5 years left, which would make his final season 67 years old... Regardless of success or failure, after about 5 years we will have to rebuild, once again.
  8. 1. D-Line plays like they did last week 2. Defense plays like the first 59 minutes of last week. 3. Nebraska runs the football 4. Armstrong makes the simple throws 5. Use DPE somewhere
  9. So Bo couldn't coach, but he managed to somehow win at least 9 games a year....Ok, i can agree with that. But what does that say for a guy like Riley who has 40+ years of coaching experience to come into Nebraska, and by the grace of God hopefully muster up 6-7 wins just to crawl to a bowl game?
  10. I posted somewhere about Mike Riley not recruiting top athletes to Oregon State, and didnt even try to do so, and his replacement was already getting 4 and 5 * to at least visit Corvallis. And then Riley not sseemingly being aggresive in recruiting at Nebraska and continuing to go after 2-3* recruits. Well congrats Oregon State. After 2 years OSU gets two 4* commits. http://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2015/10/shurod_thompson_4-star_safety_4.html#incart_2box
  11. This. And all the things he did at Oregon State with "lesser" talent and resources. The big excitement was to see what he could do with more resources at Nebraska and with top level talent. He's so far 2-3. He is truly the exact opposite of Pelini. Pelini with no experience managed to get at least 9 wins every year. Now that Riley is failing miserably, the answer is he needs the 3-4 years to get his recruits and his system in place. Well, with Riley's age and his experience I would have had to imagine this hire was intended for Nebraska to start winning immediately.
  12. I didn't take this at booing the players. I took it as the booing to be directed at the coaches, no? Never boo the players, it isn't their faults. The coaches however, who are paid millions. Yeah I can blame them.
  13. It is true. There is no way Riley is fired after this season. However, Riley most certainely can just retire after this season. I am sure Riley is not use to this heat he is getting, he is probably mind blown at the fact he is getting so much heat 5 games into the season for losing. A 2-3 record at Oregon State and no one says a word, because no one cares. And he may retire. You look at the heat he is getting just 5 games into the season, the fact that his demeanor on the sidelines is a "I dont really care" Seriously, his headset mic is never down, it's always up. Reminds me of Brady Hoke at Michigan not even wearing a head set. And his hands are always in his sweat shirt pockets as he just strolls the sidelines, talking to no one, coaching no one. It isn't a fire Riley movement that will get things going, because firing a coach after 1 season just wont happen. a Retire Riley movement is more fitting.
  14. Depends...a hard fought showing vs the Badgers and you wont hear boo's. If Wisconsin comes out and beats up the Huskers like they have in recenet past, then yes, I think there will be booing.
  15. He hired someone for one the biggest jobs in the state of Nebraska and he didn't interview more than one person for it.
  16. I am pretty sure with the talent he had returning to UGA this year, he wouldn't have wanted to come to Nebraska if given the chance. But now, after they lost bad to Alabama, and I am sure there is a loss or two down the road, maybe he would be interested in Nebraska. Again, the problem is we are most likely stuck with Riley for 3-4 more years.
  17. Just putting something out there to talk football, that isn't about bashing the coaching staff. Granted, I am one of the culprits putting Riley under fire, but thought having a different topic on the main board would be refreshing?
  18. In drawing comparisons to Callahan, it reminded me more of the texa$$ game where Bill made an equally stupid play call with the pass to Nunn on 4th down. Oh much better comparison as Riley has now allowed the once banned word of 'he who must not be named' back in our dictionaries. That play was brutal as well, but not as bad as this one as beating Texas would have been huge. Beating Illinois should have been, just another Saturday. True. At least the whorns were good, Illinois isn't. Do you think that Riley mentioning Bill in that press conference was a coincidence? Heck no. Riley even mentioning Callahan's name proves he doesn't know what he is doing...
  19. with Pelini BYU is a toss up. Miami is a blow out and we never come back. Illinoi, Pelini wins. Now we can predict what Pelini would have done the rest of the year, and Riley so far is unknown. Pelini loses to Wisconsin, loses to Mich State, probably loses to Iowa. Riley it looks bleak, but until the game is played we won't know. At Ore State he was known to have one big upset a year.
  20. well, for there to even be a chance for Richt to Nebraska movement. Riley has to retire first. Retired, fired, bought out, whatever... still, there a lot of fans who say "no way" when Richt's name is mentioned -- I don't get it. He has everything you could want. Well if I had to choose between him or Riley, I'd choose him any given day. Richt actually somewhat would make sense. People are probably against him because he hasn't gotten to the top at Georgia when Georgia is your typical pre-season national champion and loaded with talent. That said, he's at least competitive in the SEC and hasn't had numerous 5-7 seasons in a weaker conference like the PAC-12. Right now, if we could go back in time to last year, I would take anyone over Riley. I'd be for Frost or Richt. If it is Richt, I would hope it would be soon. Because if we wait out Riley's contract or give him the 4-5 year window, Richt will be almost as old as Riley is now and we would be wondering about him having time to rebuild.

  23. Seriously the only way out is if he chooses to retire. Otherwise we are stuck with this for at least 3-4 years.
