  1. This is the most important thing to look for in every game. In all 3 losses, we lost in these phases. Not to mention turnovers being the biggest stat of them all. We SHOULD be able to run the ball on these guys and gain some yards. At this point, we really need to keep fine tuning our run game and run blocking.
  2. The only meaningful stat is whether you win or not f#&% spreads and over/unders.
  3. Yeah, a big Easter egg. Its pretty obvious they're going to wear these for Indiana.
  4. We're a Stanley Morgan, Devine Ozigbo, and a few good OL from beating Minnesota this year. Unfortunately, we don't have a big physical receiver like Morgan nor do we have a fast power back like Ozigbo. I think replacing Foster and Farmer has become more challenging than the staff thought. They had to re-stock a cupboard with basically worse product than what was in the cupboard before.
  5. He sort of said that in the presser after the game tonight. "We're lifting great in the weight room, we shouldn't be getting pushed around like that." And, "I'm hungry to get back in there and I think the guys will be too. We're better than we were this time a year ago." Talk is cheap. Getting it actually done is the hard part. Results tell you everything you need to know. We can't keep losing like this. We heard all off season how much better they were going to be in year 2. At this rate, I'm NOT going to assume that we beat the lesser teams on our schedule. We have got to stop setting expectations too and getting caught up in them. Frost gets caught up in it, too. The team needs to just go out there and play hard! As Osborne used to say.
  6. They've fired assistants before. They were good before Paul Chryst became coach when Gary Andersen was there. Not everyone was retained then, i.e. fired. Wisconsin has fired an OL coach after 3 or 4 games before.
  7. I agree they played out of position all night long. That was obvious even to oblivious fans. But you cannot tell me they weren't tired. Minnesota was so much more physical than us. Being beaten physically drive after drive sucks. It can and does wear you down. I posted 3 or 4 days ago worried about Minnesota's run game. I suspected our run defense being weak. They just gashed us when they couldn't really run the ball that great against their previous 5 opponents except for maybe Illinois. Either way you or I paint this, it SUCKS. Period. Losing sucks for everybody involved.
  8. Why not? Wisconsin does it. They go through OL coaches, OC's, DC's like clockwork and they keep getting better and better. Look at Jim Leonhard. Wisconsin's defense is downright scary. We thought tonight looked bad? They might beat us 56-0.
  9. Well, I remember some of their fans warning us about Chinander. I also remember the same from Oregon State fans regarding Mark Banker.
  10. Ok tough guy don't go all keyboard warrior on me over a difference of opinion.
  11. I agree the offensive line will only be as good as the defensive line and vice versa. It's going to take a few more recruiting classes to really turn a corner. We need a few game changers here and there on both offense and defense. That can be the difference between 6-6 and 9-3. Head coaches change assistants quite a bit these days. Sadly, the days of continuity of staff is not what it used to be. Assistant coaches come and go from every school in CFB left and right.
  12. They were tired after the opening drive dude. They marched down the field and shoved it down our throats. They blew our guys off the LOS from the opening drive to the final tick. Did you still have your rose colored glasses on then? 34-7 backs that notion up that they simply got their asses whipped and they were exhausted. Just like the loss to Colorado, fatigue. Maybe Google the word, IDK.
  13. That's a given. I'm more concerned about Indiana, Purdue, and Maryland. We may not win another game if we keep playing like this.
  14. You obviously missed the point of the OP you quoted but ok.
  15. Have you played football before? If a team pounds you so much like Minnesota has tonight for the amount of yards they have on the ground, that wears you out. You get tired of running, tired of tackling. You start half assing it which results in even bigger defensive breakdowns. Give me a break.
  16. Were you born in the early 2000's? We used to do this same s#!t to our opponents the entire Osborne era. Yes, they're tired on defense.
  17. He is also not as tired as the rest of them.
  18. Frost is uncharacteristically yelling at the players. He loves this program more than every one of his coaches and players.
  19. This reminds me of every single mistake we made in the CU, Illinois, Ohio State game all rolled into one. Minnesota clearly did their homework on us.
  20. Even Saban knew the moment the clock struck zero against Nebraska when he was at MSU -- he wanted to always have a bruising physical offense. What we do right now is not physical at all. It's like watching Tim Beck's "mutt offense" but worse. Just no identity on offense. We need to get back to being the Nebraska we all knew and loved.
