I am hoping for a win but I know better....unfortunately, I do not think that our players and coaches have it in them to beat Wisconsin. Jonathan Taylor is going to run all over us. Of course I am hoping I am wrong because there is nothing I want more than to beat the Wisconsin skunks.

And here I thought that blackshirts are earned...after all black shirts are a great privilege and not a right. The defense has yet to put a complete game this season. I simply don’t understand why they are being rewarded? This seems worse than buying ice cream for the team after a loss. I bet Suh would not be happy seeing the blackshirts being handed when some players have not deserved them.

From the number of posts you have so far, it seems like you are the one that just started watching the Huskers yesterday. I have been a devoted fan all my life and I witnessed the entire Tom Osborne era. The state of Nebraska football over the past two decades has been nothing short of a horrible nightmare. When Frost was hired, I was the happiest man on earth as I am sure many fans were. I thought he will be able to change the culture. That is on me. I should not have had such high expectations given the past seasons but when Frost took this job, he promised the fans that he will right this ship. That means, at least, every year we should see some measurable progress. So, please tell me if anyone is seeing any progress. If they are then I must be blind and I will go and have my eyes checked. I am tired of koolaid drinkers who keep making excuses for the bad performances week in, week out. At what point do we admit that we are getting beat by much lesser talent? Does anyone think that we can beat Illinois if we played them this week? That should tell you where we are right now.

I can only hope you are right. Although if we get embarrassed yet again this Saturday, it will be harder to keep being positive. Anything short of making a bowl is a huge disappointment given all the hype this summer.

First, even though Frost identified Vedral and brought him to Lincoln, don’t you think he deserves play time when Martinez is clearly struggling. What does that tell you about Vedral if a struggling Martinez is still a better option according to Frost. Second, what have these high recruiting classes done thus far. Other than Wan’dale Robinson, who else has shown superior talent? We got beat by several teams with much lower recruiting classes this season. I know your response, we will be better next year once these recruits play, right? I guess we will see. We were also hoping for better results this season and it has not come to fruition. Finally, Ohio State has had excellent QBs that kept winning so there was no reason to go with Joe Burrow. It speaks to Ohio State’s ability to recruit superior talent. If Martinez was the same player As the one who ended the season last year, we would not be having this conversation. Again, please understand that I am not calling for Frost’s head. I am just frustrated that he and his coaches seem so lost as to how to fix this mess. Blaming the players is not the right thing to do. He is the head coach and instead of blaming the players, why doesn’t he sit out players who have not bought in and play the ones who have bought in. I would take an average player who plays his heart out for the team than a four star recruit who is not invested in this team’s success. It is not as if the state of Nebraska is not paying Frost very handsomely. When are we going to see results!? It is a simple question.

What Frost said about Joe Burrow and I quote: "You think he's better than what we got?" gives me great concern if it is truly what he said. It shows that he can’t distinguish real talent when he sees it. If Urban Meyer and Ohio state recruited him, he must be good. When was the last time Ohio state had a bad QB? If Frost and his coaches can’t identify talent, no wonder we are where we are. Think of Jurgens, he did not turn out good. How many others are not that good?

I am curious as to how other programs have been able to turn things around in their second year, some even in their first year. Is it possible that the players are not learning because they have little respect for this coaching staff? Also, how can you change the culture if you are not willing to discipline those who commit stupid penalties or sit down a QB who is struggling and refuse to give someone else a chance. Until Frost makes some tough decisions, the culture is not going to magically fix itself.

My mistake, I thought I heard the commentators say 88. Anyway, this is even worse then. If Taylor put up 250 against Iowa, can you imagine what he will do to us?

There is a good chance that we can beat Maryland but that is where our luck ends. Iowa played Wisconsin very close at Wisconsin. I already made my peace with the fact that both Iowa and Wisconsin are going to clobber us in our own backyard. Iowa limited Jonathan Taylor to 88 yards today. He will have 300 yards against our defense since chin can’t come up with a game plan to save his life. Iowa’s Stanley will look like Aaron Rogers when they roll into town. This team has no pride, no confidence, no heart, and no fight left in them. They do not deserve the loyalty of husker nation even though we will continue to support them till the end. If Frost does not figure things soon, next year will be a living nightmare again. This season seems like we are in bizarro world. Illinois is bowl eligible, Indiana is bowl eligible, and 2-6 Purdue a couple of weeks ago might also make a bowl before us. Can we fall any lower? Is there an end to our free fall? May be next year...

It is a sad time when Illinois has a better chance reaching a bowl than us. A lot of fans are delusional thinking that the next game will be our break out game...I am positive there are so many issues with this team and we are just privy to about 20%.

This team has quit on husker nation. They have been nothing short of an embarrassment so our comments are in line with their poor performance. Neither the players nor the coaches emit any signs of confidence. So do you blame us...trust me, not a single fan here in Nebraska wants to see their team clobbered by less opponents but that is what is happening. It is on this team and the coaching staff to make us believe again.

Just watched Wisconsin vs Iowa. We ain’t beating either team. We are getting clobbered by both in our own house.

The sad thing is that I am not sure we can even compete with North Dakota State right now. It feels like we are the Rutgers of the west and the irony of it all is that Rutgers might turn the corner faster than us. The fact that our head coach has no answer on how to fix this losing culture is really worrisome. I would not be surprised if next year isn’t worse than this year, especially with our schedule.

I wonder if our team is watching the LSU vs Alabama and the Minnesota vs PSU so they can learn how ACTUAL teams play. May be also chin can learn how to scheme and get a game plan ready because so far it seems like we are not playing the same football some of these other teams are playing. I bet a good high school team can put a whopping on us. We have been outcoached and outplayed in almost every game this season. I am hoping that the Holy Spirit visits this team this bye week and blesses them because we will need a holy intervention to make the toilet bowl.

Fleck has turned things around in Minnesota in his third year. His cupboards were as empty as ours if not emptier. Will Frost and his incompetent supporting cast led by chin be able to do the same in year 3? The next three games will tell us.

While I understand that consistency in coaching is a good thing, I am not sold that Chin is the right fit for Nebraska. I wholeheartedly believe that Frost is the right guy for the job but he needs to surround himself with competent coaches that can understand schemes and adjust quickly during a game. Neither the defense nor or OL have played well in four quarters in any of our games. The fact that we are regressing as compared to how we ended the season is alarming and I strongly believe that Frost must make some tough decisions and let some of his FRIENDS go for the sake of this team. There is no shame in admitting that certain coaches have not lived up to their hype. If Frost remains stubborn and refuses to bring competent coaches to replace some of his buddies, this ship will not be righted for a long time. Loyalty to the current coaches without self evaluation is not going to be well. Chin has had two years and he has yet to show any competence. In fact, players have regressed tremendously, especially in the secondary.

I fully agree. It is time to invest in the future of this program and AM is not it.

I would take Vedral at 50% over AM at 100%. I am tired of people using injuries as an excuse for losses. Purdue was missing ALL of its weapons and they still beat us. Enough defending inexcusable losses. You are one of the reasons why we have become accustomed to losing and you just expect us to accept it and pretend that we lost because of injuries.

This team has absolutely no identity unless “sucking bad” is an identity. Everything we do seems random and hoping that Lady Luck is on our side. Our OL is so weak that we continue to go sideways and every team we play has figured this out already. Chin is simply useless...he can’t make adjustments and is completely off in all his schemes. It might do him some good to get his a$$ in the booth and may be try and see the field better because him being on the sidelines is not working out at all. We have two very good weapons in wandale and spielman that we do not utilize to the fullest. AM is not the same AM of year 1 and Frost stubbornness to ride him the entire game when he is clearly struggling is really concerning. If Vedral was put in, we easily win this game. Frost’s blind loyalties will be his downfall because losing three games to end the season will not go down without some serious consequences.

I learned that Illinois is actually a much better team than us and I am sure they are in disbelief that they lost to this pathetic husker team. The way this team plays does not belong in any of the power 5 conferences. Let us see how many recruits decommitt after this game...if I were the father of a recruit, I would not want my kid going to a team that has no heart, no pride, and absolutely zero swagger. Somehow we have become what we have always hated...the only positive record we have is our sellout record and that is safe because thank God it is not up to this team but up to the fans who have remained loyal over two decades of the most s#!tty football ever.

We will have two weeks of excellent practices...Frost will feed us the usual bulls#!t and then come game time, this team will take its favorite position as of late...the bent over position.
