  1. We are not using our tide ends at all and our offense is atrocious…add to that crappy special teams play. Our punter is like a Russian roulette
  2. Frost is sooooooo stubborn….see what smothers can do for the love of God…Martinez is running into the tackle rather than run away from it
  3. Martinez sucks…he is in his head…defense is playing lights out and Martinez is not giving us a chance…
  4. At some point Ohio state will make adjustments or our defense will tire
  5. Ohio state is beatable today but our offense and play calling sucks as usual….our defense is giving our offense every opportunity but Frost play calling is boring, predictable, and conservative. It is as if he is playing to keep the game close rather than going out there and winning…so frustrating to watch our offense
  6. Because we have proven kickers that did not let us down at all this season…
  7. At this point, I see two scenarios were Frost is retained. Scenario 1: the Huskers go 3-0 in their next three games and we get to 6-6 and go bowling. Scenario 2: the Huskers lose a close one to Ohio State but win convincingly against Wisconsin and Iowa and somehow back into a bowl game at 5-7 and win that game. Any other outcome makes it very difficult for Trev to justify retaining Frost for another year. As for who would come to Nebraska, anyone would if you pay them their worth. In fact, the bar is so low right now that any coach who goes 8-4 next season would be hailed a hero. I still believe that The Nebraska Brand holds some weight and many would see this job as a great opportunity. We just need to get the right person who can adjust to BiG 10 football. I am praying for Scenario 1. Go Big Red!
  8. Get over yourself. You can’t win an argument and you start calling people toddlers. If you can’t debate like a grown up who makes sense, don’t waste people’s time acting like a child. No point trying to communicate with people like you. Stay sane. Best advice I can give you.
  9. Some people just make bizarre arguments that make no sense. It is a side effect of drinking too much koolaid.
  10. Well, then you definitely deserve Frost forever…keep chugging that koolaid buddy. Bottoms up.
  11. Bravo, so there is a coach more clueless than Frost. I am not sure if I should be happy or sad that all you took from my post was that line.
  12. We can make all kinds of excuses because Frost is from Nebraska and was part of the 1997 championship team. I doubt a single person in the state of Nebraska wanted this outcome but here we are. So, the question is are we going to keep making excuses, drinking koolaid, and be satisfied with moral victories or are we going to demand some accountability for the record we have thus far. 5-18 in one score games is ridiculous and statistically improbable. The only way you can lose that many is if you did it on purpose. Now, I am sure that our guys do not want to lose games but the coaches are not making the right decisions and do not have back up plans when plan A is not working. I still remember when Frost declared that half the playbook was out the window when Bielema did some changes to his formation. That tells you Frost is not a good HC. Some may argue that he was a successful OC but that is completely different than being the HC and competing in P5 conference. His body language implies that he is way over his head. I am sure that his team can feel that and that is why our offense is chaotic. Show me one other coach who would keep a QB in the game after they had 4 INT. What message does that send to the rest of the team? This turkey is done…stick a fork in it.
  13. So, we are expecting the team to save Frost’s job. The team needs a game plan. If Frost and his coaches cannot come up with a game plan for their team to execute, no one will be saving anyone. This is the same team that rejected a bowl invitation last year. That was the beginning of the end in my opinion. Coaches who realize that their teams need all the practice they can get do not reject bowl games. Ironically, Frost is under investigation for practice violations. If you know your team needs more practice then take advantage of a bowl game instead of committing violations and bringing unnecessary attention to an already struggling team. That, in itself, tells you that Frost cannot make sound decisions. This also manifests itself week in week out on the field when he gets out coached by opposing Big coaches. At this point, I am not very positive that the team has what it takes to pull a miracle. It feels like the body (i.e., team) may want but the mind (i.e., Frost) has no idea of how.
  14. I have never wished we lose a game and will never do so because I love my Huskers and I want them to win even if that means it will prolong the “keep or fire Frost” discussion. In fact, I really hope we can pull three wins in a row and become bowl eligible. Now, do I think that Martinez, our offense, and Frost can pull this miracle? No. I hope they do but seeing Frost’s body language during the Purdue game tells me he is way over his head. He simply cannot come up with a coherent game plan to beat Ohio state and his offense cannot execute without shouting themselves in the foot. I believe we might be able to pull one of our last two games to finish 4-8 which was my prediction last year but that would be it. I really hope I am wrong because I want our seniors to go to a bowl. They deserve that.
  15. Stepp will enter transfer portal this spring since our coaches do not have a game plan. Either our coaches cannot develop talent and keep them happy and hopeful or they recruit the wrong players. We have three RB yet we cannot get a good production from them and when we do get good production, we yank them out of the game. Our offense is so chaotic and has no identity. We simply do not play to our strengths.
  16. I remember a thread that was started last year asking us to predict the number of wins we will have this year. The most common numbers were 3-9 and 4-8. We are on par with these predictions that were made last year. If you can predict how your team is going to suck a year in advance and it comes to fruition then I feel it is time for a change. Let’s face it. If Frost is given another year, here is what is going to happen: (1) he will retain all his coaches because he is stubborn and loyal (2) Martinez will come back for one more tour of redemption because he is not NFL material (3) we will experience another mass exodus in the spring which will include smothers and Yant and any other talented player who did not get playing time this year (4) recruiting will suffer (5) we will be back here next year discussing how we wasted an easy schedule and got nowhere. Having said that, I completely agree that if Trev does not have the guy he wants then there is no reason for an impulsive hire like Riley to set us back another decade. In that case, Trev will need to let Frost know that he needs to make necessary changes for the team to be competitive or else he needs to start looking for a job. I do not buy the “we were effected by COVID” and “Riley recruits were quitters” crap. Mel Tucker turned things around with whatever talent was left in the cupboard. Arguably, our players are twice as talented as MSU, Illinois, Minnesota, and Purdue players. The difference is that Mel Tucker can coach and he had Frost’s number three times already with two different teams, whereas Frost and his coaches cannot get the best of the talent they have. The rest is just nostalgia wanting Frost to succeed when he showed he has no idea of how to succeed. Ultimately, Frost leaving might be the best thing for him and for Nebraska. He was successful at UCF. May be that is the type of football he knows how to coach and that is simply not enough for the BIG 10.
  17. Ok, then why does Frost insist on playing Martinez when he has seen that he chokes when it matters most. Martinez had 4 INT and Frost insisted on going with him to the end. Put Smothers in for a series. The guy might surprise you. He might be a better QB come crunch time. Purdue had three QBs ready to play. You can defend Frost all you want but these decisions were his and his alone. If you see your QB is choking and struggling, no one would blame you if you took him out and gave the next man up a chance. Unless your game plan is built around Martinez and no one else. Frost’s offense has no identity. It feels like trial and error with mostly error, and if for some reason something works, we stop doing it. At some point people will run out of ways to defend Frost.
  18. I simply believe that Frost and co. do not know how to coach a successful 2-min drill. You can’t teach what you don’t know. The play calling has been atrocious when we have had the ball in our hands with a chance to go and win the game. No QB in FBS has had more chances than Martinez to go down with ample time and timeouts to win the game and he keeps coming short. So, I do not know who to blame, Martinez for not learning, the coaches for not developing him, Frost for insisting to go with him when he has other QBs on the team, or all of the above. You would think after so many trials and errors, something is going to hit. Apparently not with Frost and Martinez.
  19. I guess time will tell but I still believe that Frost is stubborn and set in his ways. That is why we are in this predicament.
