  1. Plus a lot of these guys lost time to the optional weight program. Weight programs are like your 401k, what you invest at the beginning creates exponential growth. And missing the beginning means it's that much harder to catch up on.
  2. I believe when all the speculation was out on her, it was noted that she has been head coach for 27 years.
  3. I think it's a bit of a leap to say that Tennessee stinks, they make us look like the Patriots.
  4. Don't hurt yourself with all that stretching!
  5. If he's not able to find holes against NIU then I'm concerned about his effectiveness overall. He hasn't really impressed so far, IMO.
  6. I like Bo a lot, but I agree. I think that a high level DC is probably his sweet spot. Unfortunately I think he probably has too much pride for this.
  7. Not only that, but losing so much conditioning/weight training just put us way behind other schools so while we may have been getting good athletes, they had no chance at developing. Most 18 and 19 year olds aren't ready to play at the D1/P5 level, they're still growing and getting stronger. And let's face it, we were all (probably) 18 once. If someone says you can do your weight training on your own time or it's optional, there's a good chance you're not going to do it. Having a structured system is so beneficial and that lost time is just that, lost time. They're not getting that eligibility back, and they're not getting the dividends on the work that was missed.
  8. I don't think it'll be a gameday game. Probably WSU v Utah or UVA v Notre Dame or they'll find a reason to go where some player is having a breakout season (TTU v Oklahoma?)
  9. I think it's about the fashion in which we lost. We were so dominant in the first half and then seemed like we were lost in the second half. Also the opponent doesn't help the sting of the loss. I'm sure after next week cooler heads will prevail (hopefully).
  10. Someone did include this video of Sam talking about punting. I'll admit I didn't watch the entire thing...because it's about punting...and I just don't have that kind of patience. https://youtu.be/5oZYO0FbZ_A
  11. Devin Hester did a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) and was asked who the punter was he hated going up against. His answer: "Sam Koch. If Sam was allowed to punt the way he did in practice, you didn't want to catch none of his balls. He had a leaf ball. It wasn't a knuckleball. Imagine a leaf dropping 100 feet from the air the way it swoops back and forth. It looked like a leaf falling from the sky. Only faster." It was a very solid AMA, usually they can be kind of a crap shoot but he answered some good questions. https://old.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/czmsxb/im_devin_hester_the_nfl_recordholder_for_punt/
  12. This is a tried and true strategy that has worked well for me over the years (not so much for my bank account). Though last week it didn't motivate them to demolish South Alabama, so maybe I've lost my bad luck mojo...
  13. I like where we're at now (1 cupcake, 1 P5 conference, 1 G5), though the scheduling is so far out who the heck knows where a team is going to be when we actually play them. We've got Tennessee in 2026 which looks horrible now, but in 7 years who knows where they're at.
  14. Unfortunately we've been trending this way for years. An early season W over a top tier opponent doesn't mean anything in November (unless you go undefeated at which point it didn't matter anyway). The pollsters have very short memories.
  15. I think you're probably on the nose here. CU managed to do better in the 2nd half as well (not that they could do much worse).
  16. Iowa State didn't lose, but going to triple OT against Northern Iowa might as well have been a loss.
