  1. I have many friends in NYC. They don't feel any less safe than they have in the last 25 years. And the statistics dont' really play out that things are worse either. This looks at the last 29 years. https://www.nyc.gov/assets/nypd/downloads/pdf/crime_statistics/cs-en-us-city.pdf
  2. Really interesting discussion with a poll creator/analyzer from Cook Political Report on Preet this week. She says don't look at points difference between candidates but rather how far above or beyond someone is from 50% approval and how that's moving. For instance, Tim Ryan in OH, hasn't moved much from 45-46 all the campaign and the crazy hillbilly guy is steadily increasing - that should be a trend worth watching. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/stay-tuned-with-preet/id1265845136?i=1000584900736
  3. What shes' posting under his name is awesome. Sorta proves his plan is stupid but she's using her power for good!
  4. All the crazy started with that momma bear that can see Russia.
  5. Apologies I guess if I didn't read sarcasm in your initial post pointing out that it was flailing due to the woke liberal mob cancelling advertisers who remained. And yes I think ELON MUSK and any of the folks who felt they were censored because their threats against individuals and groups and dangerous untruths will use it as the excuse WHEN Twitter fails after he took ownership. But really it's due to his business decisions and poor planning and lack of forecasting. If he didn't think that advertisers might not want their name and product below a Kanye tweet talking about how his jewish doctor wanted to off him or one where he boldly claims that slavery was a choice and slaves were treated well that really has nothing to do with censoring. Interestingly enough, in the last few days if you look - the censoring going on relative to tweets that are critical of Musk and others in his world is huge. Look at responses to his tweets sometime ... it will show as have 42 replies but when you click to view you can only see 4. Now, what do you think about Nike and the Nets and how they're dealing with Kyrie? Cancel culture or business decision?
  6. Is it a "woke rebellion" if advertisers decide that the owner is volatile and the changes at the company put their name and reputation at risk? Or is it a company trying to limit the impact to their bottom line until they know how things are going to go? If I was a marketer at a co that advertises there I'd pull my funding based on the shear number of departing profiles. Their potential business impact is decreasing everytime someone leaves the platform.

  8. He continues to amaze me with his huge beautiful brain. Nobody is a better businessman than him. Nobody knows more about moving money illegally than he does.
  9. I don't neccessarily disagree with Will. Both Trump and Biden are too old, and Joe's done no favors for Kamala in the VP role. There was a funny skil on SNL this weekend I'll try to find and post. I'd be interested in a thread about "if not Joe then who in 2024". I have some favs and I'd love to hear of other peoples. There are strong candidates out there we haven't met yet. I also think the Dems need to show a united force from the beginning. This 20 person in the primary crap is crap. Pick 2-3 of the leaders and have the others back their fav. https://www.thewrap.com/snl-scariest-candidates-2024-presidential-race-video/#brid_cp_Brid_1127963
  10. Love how you think calling her a "bartender" takes away from the fact that she went to Boston College where the average GPA to get in is 3.9 and she graduated with both Economics and International Relations degrees cum laude. Then she was elected by a group of gritty, no bs New Yorkers to a seat in the house at age 29. If you don't like someones policy positions that's fair. But it's a huge sign of your allegiance and admiration of the former guy that you think the best way to speak about a someone you disagree with it to try to belittle them and call them names. That $hit says far more about the poster/accuser than the person they're focused on.
  11. The caveman behavior (beating people with hammers and clubs and poles and shields etc) and the absolute lack of brain power and the ability to think critically as well as the susceptibleness to falling for asinine, unbelieveable "theories" (jewish lasers, pedofile democrat groomers, masks causing brain damage because you inhale your own breath, Bill Gates implanting chips in your arm, kids using litter boxes at school, people handing out colorful fentanyl to kids, Las Vegas and Parkland shootings being "fake", pizzagate, the election was stolen with magic computers from (insert scary country here) that could switch votes to Biden, JFK Jr is leading an alt right political group, Ted Cruz'd dad assasinated JFK, Obama is a muslim, Soros is paying protesters, the FBI raided MAL to find Hilary's emails, Paul Pelosi let in the man because he's his gay lover, yada, yada, yada) It all kinda lines up huh? Makes me think these guys aren't so smart.
  12. You may have thought it was a jig, but it was really more of a sway and stumble. The fact that republicans think I'm going to give away my gummies is just par for the course in their crazy talk. People don't even give away full size candy bars, they're definately not giving away their precious (and there's no sarcasm intended) gummies.
  13. Sadly, I find myself making similar assumptions based on politics. If I learn someone shares my politics they're already a step ahead of someone who supports the GOP when I begin making a determination of their morals and respect for others and if they have a future as a friend or foe in my life. Wish it hadn't been proven the right assumption so many times, and I really am trying to be aware of having a more open mind about it - but right now, if someone is on board with republican candidates I feel they're showing their cards, and that they're ok with misogyny, they're anti science, they're anti gay, anti immigrant, lack an appreciation of diversity etc and I simply don't have room in my life to try and understand how someone can feel that others are not equal and deserving of respect.
  14. I believe it's Parkinson's but I don't think he has publicly disclosed anything. If it is Parkinsons, there are a lot of issues in addition to the tremors, like hallucinations and altered behavior. Good stuff for an already unstable person with a ridiculous amount of power and influence.
  15. I am actually thinking they won't do quite that well. Polls don't take the youth vote into account and they tend to vote for the good guys. Turn out is higher than usual in most states. Roe matters. I think we gain a seat or two in the Senate and hold the house.
  16. But I thought the attack on Mr. Pelosi was just another example of how CA is a crazy liberal state with lots of crime?
  17. You know what Furries are right? It's like people who like Star Wars or Comic Books. So I'm sure there are folks that consider themselves such in high school. I don't believe that people consider "Trekies" a derogatory term so I can't see where anyone would think this is either. Regarding Boldouc - he is a nut job. Even his own party won't sign on to this or his other crazy talk. I live near NH and I feel pretty confident he won't come close to winning, though there are a lot of "Live Free Or Die/Don't Tread On Me" folks in the state. This guy is even too crazy for them. I get so confused with your posts Nic, you come across as a curious, normal, eager to educate guy but then jump on conspiracies quickly. CRT, Furries, Boston Lab Creates Killer Covid. If you see something that seems a little crazy it's worth looking it up with some other sources isn't it? Or is it your intent to just stir the pot?
  18. I'll bet a dollar we move this to the Angry Violent Right. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/01/us/politics/violent-threats-lawmakers.html
  19. Well Lindsay, what happens is you have a party of racists who are now publicly using a black man to (again) get themselves further along in the game. Using a black man as a pawn. Not new Lindsay.
  20. It's just amazing to me that people who actually listen to Lake, Walker, Oz, Johnson et all think that any of them is qualified for the role. One should be forced to just read transcripts and not watch their TV prescence and then explain what they just read. Can't be done. Hershel doesn't have the ability, Lake is an excellent spinner and for some reason the others are just being excused. I'm disgusted with my fellow americans.
