  1. Who here is identified as a Hillary supporter other than zoogs? NM11046
  2. Who are you voting for? Anyone but Trump. It's very, very clear that he is the greatest of all evils that will be on the ballot. Go ahead and run in yourself into another circle about emails and benghazi though. So, then you are voting for Hillary.. Love the hypocrisy! If I were in a state that could swing either way, yes I would vote Hillary as a vote against Trump. Don't act like the two candidates are similar on any level though. They are way more alike than you understand, evidently. Both are all about themselves and will do anything to get what they want. ANYTHING! EDIT: it is seriously scary how little some of you really know or care to know about the person you are going to vote for. Because some of us have different opinions than you, or different priorities, or different morals doesn't mean we're dumb or uneducated or don't care about the election. From what I can tell everyone that has participated in these back and forth mind numbing, never moving forward conversations is quite well read on why they are voting for the candidate they are voting for. Share your comments about your candidate all you want, but don't imply that others don't know what they're doing or don't understand what's at stake with this election just because they're not climbing on your train.
  3. Also interesting to note - in the last day or so he has totally gutted his Twitter profile (Ala Tate Martell when he started getting a lot of grief during his commitment/decommitment/commitment saga). I'm sure with the move from CA to LV and the press that got he cleared out all potential material. Even took down his "Commitment Day 8/22" declaration.
  4. Interesting indeed - I think it changes nothing w/OSU's interest however, or his announcement on the 22nd.
  5. Or for all the republicans who are unable to vote for Trump because he's a lying, crazy, misogynistic, racist, sexist, xenophobic bigot ... edit: who has no comprehension of national or international relations or history. edit: who is unable to control himself in situations where he feels slighted or questioned.
  6. I think they will. Between primary numbers and rally turnouts, some people are going to be pretty overwhelmed at the disparity on election day. It has been consistently shown that primary numbers and rally turnouts are not at all indicative of election day turnout. http://www.npr.org/2016/04/26/475681237/campaign-mystery-why-dont-bernie-sanders-big-rallies-lead-to-big-wins Unbiased source looking at the lack of connection between rally attendance crowds and votes.
  7. I think that what is needed here is an example of someone manning up, admitting his wrongdoing with no excuses whatsoever, taking his punishment without complaint, and then making the most of this chance and the rest of his life. What is really missing these days is someone admitting they did wrong without trying to weasel out of it. It's never anybody's fault for anything, and that is what younger people overwhelmingly see from so many people saying "yeah, but..." If Williams isn't ready to change, he'll blow this chance as well. So he isn't really "getting away" with anything, he would just be postponing the inevitable. If Williams rights himself and "gets his mind right", then everybody wins. Agree 100%. He did this and only he can work himself out of this jam. I wish he were suspended far longer without pay- like six games. Heck, let him coach with no pay until October. Only then would we see KW's true remorse. No joke, there may be a law against something like that - having an employee work for no pay as a punishment. Though I'm sure he could volunteer to put his paychecks toward a charity. That said, I'm not sure he should miss house payments or put his family out for this type of offense, as lacking in judgment as it was. Complex issue, imo. Slavery????? Lets go all racial, that would be a nice turn for this thread. Stop it.
  8. In NC yesterday Trump did an ok job with the teleprompter speech until the very end when he said, “You're living in poverty (fact check - about 25% are, similar to other minorities), your schools are no good, you have no jobs (fact check - unemployment rates are similar between all races). Fifty-eight percent of your youth is unemployed (fact checked not true, in order for this to be true it would have to include all African Americans down to high school age). What the hell do you have to lose?” Speaking before another largely-white audience in a town whose population is 93 percent white, Trump said, “And at the end of four years, I guarantee you that I will get over 95 percent of the African-American vote (right now he hovers between 0 and 1%). I promise you. Because I will produce.” I expect offensive, flagrantly incorrect statements from Trump, what shocked me on this one was actually the response of his Sr. Adviser when asked by CNN why Trump was trying to woo Black voters at rallies populated mainly by white audiences, and where few african americans live. “Maybe it would have been nice if he went and had a backdrop with a burning car,” Kingston replied. "His rallies are open to the public. Last night in North Carolina we saw a lot of African-Americans. I wasn't sure about the crowd content tonight… but they’re open to the public, and I mean, there’s nothing exclusive.
  9. Just when he was acting and talking Presidential there are glimmers of his old self:
  10. I think they will. Between primary numbers and rally turnouts, some people are going to be pretty overwhelmed at the disparity on election day. It has been consistently shown that primary numbers and rally turnouts are not at all indicative of election day turnout. You have your models and I have mine. We'll see what happens in a few months. In the meantime, can we also add "stopping someone who seems mean!" and "electing someone who doesn't hurt my feels" to the list (in addition to my suggestion of "I'm not voting")? This can cover people who are only casually following the race. I know it seems like a joke, but...ya know! What are your models? Listening to Trump, Fox and Breitbart and then reciting whatever catchphrases they tell him to.
  11. This is fun! I needed to take a break from all the debating. I have a feeling I'm out of my element - no hard rock here: 1- Five groups or musicians. Counting Crows Colin Hay (yes that guy from Men at Work) The Eagles Willie Nelson Pearl Jam Picked folks I like that have huge libraries and a mix of music and tempos. Island life can be tough, no telling what I'd be in the mood for. But essentially I like songs that tell stories and nothing that makes me clench my jaw when I'm listening to it. Chris Stapleton would be on here at #6 as well as Jack Johnson. 2- Five other songs. You get any and all versions of these songs. Jane Says - Janes Addiction While My Guitar Gently Weeps - I heard an acoustic version by George Harrison that was amazing and have never been able to find it Got To Give It Up - Marvin Gay- this one always gets me happy and moving, can't explain it. What I Got - Sublime These Days - Jackson Brown 3- One genre, Blues no doubt about it.
  12. Can someone please start a Main Stream Media thread if it's that important to discuss?
  13. Phelps didn't lie about it, or go on several national tv shows talking about how a foreign country's police system was corrupt.
  14. It was said in the presser that there are - and that Riley is not going to discuss them.
  15. Because that's not the Nebraska Way. stop it.
  16. Nice spin. Trump is the only Presidential candidate giving this Katrina like tragedy the attention it deserves. Meanwhile Obama is having a great time golfing. As i pointed out in the other thread, a prime example of the MSM showing its bias and hypocrisy as they chastised Bush for not showing up or seeming engaged enough with Katrina. http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/kyle-drennen/2016/08/18/nets-compare-louisiana-flood-katrina-ignore-obama-vacation Dude - the state has asked people not to come! Not me spinning anything - they're saying volunteer or give. Edit: they don't want extra people there requiring them to secure areas or spend time and money on anything other than the recovery. So nice spin by you on the vaca claims.
  17. The only thing I disagree with is I think he should have been suspended without pay until after that 4th game.
  18. This from the guy who prides himself in picking winners and managing teams. I wonder how many cabinet appointees he'll go through in the 1st year if he is elected? At this rate, we'll have the cabinet, a Kitchen Cabinet, and a Alumni Cabinet Oooooo I hope he writes a book, or better yet - comes out with all the juicy stuff and supports Hillary!
  19. I agree. Being it was his 3rd. With a fender bender. While hosting a 5 star WR, I expected the suspension to be for the season. Lets be honest - who was in town ("hosting a 5 star") has zero to do with this. Would it have mattered less if it was a 3 star? If he had been out with his wife? I hate that people keep bringing up Lewis with this. It has no place. I don't think they are specifically pointing out Lewis as much as the fact that he was hosting a recruit this weekend. And that does matter considering how many times you hear a player/recruit call a coach their father figure. I agree on the father figure comment, for sure. But IMO the damage is done regardless of if the kid is in town or at his home.
  20. Looks like Trump & Pence are planning to do a fly over photo op to LA despite a request not to come if they aren't helping in some way. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards' office said Trump had not called to discuss plans to visit, but that the New York businessman was welcome to volunteer or make a sizable donation toward helping victims. "We welcome him to (Louisiana), but not for a photo op," the statement said. "Instead we hope he'll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of this storm."

  22. Can you delete a thread vs. just locking it? This is an embarrassment.
  23. Hmmmm does he understand Brexit? Obviously somebody forgot to take his phone away from him this morning:
