He was seeing playing time. So? Retention matters.
-
I know he tried. I know he tried to the point of kidney failure.
-
I don’t think buy in was a factor here. Remember he was a guy busting his ass off to the point of rhabdo to show out for this new staff. I think it’s important we remember that before we make him a scapegoat of an era being blamed for everything
-
s#!t like this drives me nuts. This was a kid that everyone in the country wanted. Because we couldn't develop him with either staff he played under isn't necessarily his fault and for fans to have a "f#&% him good riddance" attitude is ignorant. Losing talent like him is never a positive.
-
If I didn’t know any better. It would be like some people would be ok with any results as long as a Certified Nebraska Man was up there spouting platitudes and harkening back to days of yore.
-
“Gave a quote” One things for sure, if the press conference counted towards the score this team would be Indy bound
-
You missed the most important part. Recruiting. They do it on a much higher scale than us and that needs to change and change fast
-
I have. In a sporting setting. It doesnt work.

Scott Frost was put forth as a savior sent to save Nebraska and it’s people and you’re incredulous and mad the kids he’s paid to coach are looking to him for answers?
-
All of the teams you mentioned: -Have a national title more recently than us -have a conference title more recently than us -have been ranked more recently than us -have a win this year (Florida beat a ranked team tonight!) - recruit better than us. Man it’s really time to stop window dressing this. We are spiraling and the people in charge might not know how to stop it
-
The best part of your approach is the ncaa violations imo
-
I think Frost is going to want those comments back when he reflects on today. Blaming the previous staff for current discipline issues, snarking about a certain player without saying their name, and all the while taking no blame for himself or his staff is better left to the message board warriors because it’s a bad look for one of the highest paid coaches in the Big Ten. I completely understand -why- he made them. He’s frustrated, he’s emotional, and he’s mad. But the time for platitudes and bravado is long gone It’s time for work in silence and results. From everyone.

This team gets worse by the week

Ah so you’re not ready to have a discussion then

This is a cop out. Nebraska simply is more talented than Troy. They lost because of turnovers, poor effort and lack of fundamentals. Is Nebraska more talented than Michigan? No. Absolutely not. But I will not listen to any argument that says Nebraska has a talent gap that translates to a 46 point beating that could have been whatever Harbaugh felt like. Because it isn’t true. There were fundamental, glaring errors that led to that. Harbaugh doesn’t run a fancy, gimmicky offense. Know what a lot of the running plays were that paved us and stacked them to a 39-0 lead? Plays as simple as a counter. Every single last person on Nebraska’s defense has defended a counter before. Nearly everyone who’s played football at any level has defended a counter before. It’s a fundamental football play. And Nebraska was helpless to stop it. Some of the reasons are because Nebraska was trying to match up safeties to large blockers and they were getting destroyed (check out Scott Shanle’s Twitter. He was ranting about that) and other were simple fundlamental lapses and effort. Neither of those are on Mike Riley. He isn’t drawing up plays and he isn’t coaching them now. If the players now cannot execute what is probably second nature to them after a whole life of football it’s because they aren’t being stressed. I think some staff guys are trying to teach advanced physics when they need to be taught not to drop the beaker and cut themselves all over again.

Coach speak didn’t inflate me to where I thought Nebraska shouldn’t lose to a sun belt team and by 46 to Michigan
-
Preaching patience is fine. But there’s preaching patience and there’s saying that “this isn’t a four win team” and “the big ten will have to adjust to us” and “we shouldn’t schedule a makeup game 12/1 be cause we could be in Indy” (and boy i bet he’d like those guaranteed extra practices now). I think what people are questioning is the duplicity
-
You know, I don’t need to hear from any more players on the podium. They have work to do. Stop talking about buy in, owning it, and pride and show us.
-
Then we agree. Nebraska needs to pull top ten classes to even have a chance
-
That doesn’t exist in state. It just doesn’t.
-
I might not know what the answer is but less talented; less recruited in state kids defintely are not the answer
-
I was surprised to learn the best interest of the program was to lose to a sun belt team and have a record breaking loss to Michigan. Imagine what ill learn next week

Michigan players: Nebraska gave up 'after the first series'
MountainMan replied to r06ue1's topic in Husker Football
It’s the inverse of true -
We need to be in the top 15 at minimum. For all the comparisons to Frost and Saban, Saban at least understands that you need a top recruiting class. Frost needs to stop giving lip service to the walk ons and late bloomers crowd and recruit Adrian Martinez level talent across the board. Id start with the o line first
