Speaking of narratives....

So is losing to Troy at home
-
Maybe don’t chase away three scholarship qb’s in the off season then
-
I’m starting to wonder where that one win is coming from
-
Troy replaced a bunch of starters from last year
-
No kidding. My original point still stands he shouldn’t have had to.
-
I agree. Let’s just make sure it’s spread around to the staff too
-
And what’s the point here?
-
Beating Troy at home shouldn’t require “exotic. “

We have a serious quarterback depth problem
MountainMan replied to Hayseed's topic in Husker Football
Frost would deserve the praise if he had pulled it off. But Gebbia is gone and it is what it is. People wishing him ill isn’t something I’d do. We’ve had history here of qb’s trying to leave when they don’t get the starting nod at first. Some got convinced to stay, some didn’t. -

I don’t think Frost is “dirty” but respectfully he’s only ran two programs. Neither at the p5 level. And the team he was OC for has tons of fishy behavior to their name I think the ultimate point is Frost is going to have to tweak what he does to thrive in the Big Ten. I bet even Frost knows that considering he’s not an idiot. And we’ve seen our fill of coaches here who think they don’t have to change their scheme/system/patterns to succeed. I know I have. -

Well we should probably remove Dantonio and MSU from that list. Shaw is certainly a candidate, as is Patterson. But those programs I'd wager especially Kstate are ones that your average Nebraska fan considers "beneath us". And their ceilings are significantly lower than what we as Nebraska probably want. -

So....you know it can be done, but you admit that it maybe hasn't been done, but you think Frost has? Thats.....a little muddled. And this isn't to say that Frost has to turn into Art Briles, but I think it would be for the best if the narrative that Nebraska has to win and win "squeaky clean" went away. And Frost probably should have done more to ensure that he would have Gebbia around this year. Look no further then how Saban handled the Hurts/Tua situation -

Who are the coaches currently "doing it clean" in your opinion? -
Hypothetical: If we win our next two games...

That says something different than you guys think it says

What if we made the Akron players bale hay? I bet they’d fight the Buffs tonight for the right to play today. Frankly, I think we need that advantage.

I haven’t done any of those things but have I ever told you about the time I went horseback riding with a guy named Bill Brasky but there weren’t any horses around? Well, Brasky throws a saddle on my back and rides me around Wyoming for three days. Well wouldn’t you know it my stamina increases with each day and I develop tremendous leg muscles. So anyway, Brasky decides to enter me in the Breeders Cup, right? Under the name Turkish Delight. And I’m running in second place, and I’m running and I break my ankle! They’re about to shoot me, when someone from the crowd yells out, God bless him, ‘Don’t shoot him, he’s a human!' So I guess what I’m saying is I’m glad we didn’t play under weird conditions because we are pretty thin and we can’t afford injuries.
-
Another reason they’ll be paying Akron
-
Neither have been shy about stirring the pot with a mic in their face. Moos especially.
-
Lol oh my god man.
-
Nebraska isn’t going to go under because of this, I assure you
-
People mocking this move likely don’t realize Oregon St’s new coach is the former Offensive coordinator for UW under Chris Petersen and was his qb coach at Boise before that. And that Mike Riley isn’t on staff there But hey.

Ron Brown Returns to Nebraska as Director of Player Development
MountainMan replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
Ron Brown left for Liberty less than a month after he was asked to take sensitivity training at Youngstown State. I'm pretty sure he won’t last a long time at Nebraska this time around. Why the University would sign off on this after their PR failures with the conservatives in the Union and the Nazi, I have no idea. Ron Brown is who he is, but I really don't understand why the University would sign up to have to legislate this fight again. They're absolutely going to get a petition like the one Ron Brown got at YSU, and Frost is going to have to comment on it. Now, the average Nebraskan won't care, but he's going to be in the news for stupid, off-field reasons for an own-goal that's completely unnecessary. Walters is already a FCA guy, so if you needed someone to go in Frost's place to a couple meetings, you can send him. Otherwise, just let Brown do his ministry through FCA and work with players that way, instead of giving him an office and giving the university's liberal element a target when you're clearly unprepared as an institution to deal with those issues. This reeks as a nostalgia hire. Which Nebraska has been addicted to as a cheap cash grab for years. -
