  1. I’m not crazy about the McGriff take. I will no doubt trust Frost and the assistants on offense because they clearly know what makes their offense work but he feels like a G-5 player in my opinion. Not trying to be a downer though, there are exciting times ahead and we are in on some big time recruits. Going to be a fun couple of months.
  2. Yeah, definitely seems like a bit of a tweener. Probably a true 4-3 DE, but maybe the coaches love his frame and playstyle and believe he could bulk up to a 3-4 DE. Doesn’t seem to be an OLB in my opinion.
  3. Agree with you both, good points. I think if we take a JUCO at QB, RB, or WR, then it will likely be a sign of attrition before the spring (or they know someone will transfer during the spring like at QB). Especially at RB, because if Bryant is able to return at full health, then we only need a prep RB. I worried about Tyjon transferring once KW wasn’t retained but I think he is solid and on board. Morgan is thinking about the NFL but I think he comes back. But I still wonder because of how close all those guys are with KW. I don’t have any inside info, I’m just speculating though. We will get a real good idea based on what committments our staff accepts.
  4. Obviously. But the staff is offering a lot of JUCOs and it stands to reason that they’re going to try to sign some of them. Minn was expressing some concern on if we were going to take too many, I’m simply saying the numbers will work either way. We need a JUCO at OLB, OT, and DB at the very least in my opinion. Seems like the staff is trying hard for a JUCO TE, RB, and WR as well. We will have to see what all happens in the next month.
  5. I understand your point but I think any amount of over-signing will be due to expected attrition. This class will have a good amount of HS recruits even if it seems like we are taking a lot of JUCOs. It wouldn’t surprise me to get a number around, or over, 25. Just means some guys are moving on. The rumor going around is that some of the attrition “will cause panic, but ultimately be good for the team.”
  6. Truly surprised by this even though I’ve been reading about Fisher and A&M putting on the full-court press. I thought Frost’s offense, Moore’s genuine love for Nebraska, and, most importantly, the chance for early PT would be enough to keep him in the fold. My other worry besides losing such an awesome talent is that this could affect a QB wanting to commit here as well. Hard to sell our offense when we don’t have any WRs committed here (I’m fully assuming our other WR is out too).
  7. +1 because you’re absolutely right that the staff could have made a huge mistake. I’ll be worried if we see a weird, lesser rated offer go out to a QB in the near future. Until then, I assume our staff must like our chances with Martinez.
  8. Think that says a lot about our chances with Martinez.
  9. Definitely sounds promising. Waiting on Steve to make a flip prediction haha.
  10. Eh, definitely not a 5-star RB but I like his film and his offer list. I actually think his offer list is more deserving of a 4th star than Wildeman’s is. Would love to have this guy N.
  11. Looks like he’s up to 280lbs and has offers from Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Syracuse as well. Thinking this guy could have been a big time OT if he wasn’t 250lbs his senior year in high school. Probably needs to add a bit of weight still but I’m sure our staff, and many others, believes he can do it by fall camp. https://hailvarsity.com/players/8289/levon-livingston
  12. Moore was going to visit A&M this weekend but had to cancel since his high school team is still playing in the playoffs. Sounds like Fisher is making him a priority.
  13. Very meh about that Iowa DE. Has potential I suppose but needs to add a lot of weight. Feels like one of those G5 dudes who wreaks havoc as an upperclassman after several years in the system.
  14. Abdullah and Suh need to continue playing games in the NFL so that whoever is on the road can point to them as part of our NFL factory. I went with Crouch because he’s the type of guy that moms will trust. And the Heisman Trophy is timeless so it won’t matter if recruits have heard of him or not haha.
  15. I think and hope that it’s entirely possible that Bryant will be back. I’m looking forward to it. I also think it’s imperative that the staff treat his return as an uncertainty, and that they look to bring in a prep RB and a juco RB. After ‘18, we lose Ozigbo and Wilbon, and while I love Bradley’s potential, if Bryant isn’t able to get back on the field, then that RB position is bleak even with a beast prep RB in this class. If the staff pursues and accepts a commitment from a juco RB, then I think it will say a lot about Bryant’s status going forward. Would love to have him back, but I’d also understand if medically retiring from football might be the best thing for him.
  16. Interesting, can definitely picture him in that Frost offense. Matchup nightmare.
  17. Says that he talked with Frost the day he was hired and it went well. Frost and co will make an in-home soon. Admits that he likes Ohio State, how they play, and that “they’re a big program,” but also says he likes all the schools that have offered him. He’s taking his time and evaluating every option right now. He and Babb do want to play together at the next level (Babb’s favoring of Ohio State is a big reason people think Brown will go there too) but they will make the decision that is best for each of them ultimately.
  18. Jerry Falwell (the founder) was a disgusting human being and his son isn’t any better.
  19. Could start day one at OLB for us. Big need and great offer list.
  20. Good chance this ends up being a dumb post but I’m glad we aren’t going to get Parsons. I admit, I thought it was just sour grapes from opposing fanbases at first, but I’ve heard and read way too many things about his attitude at this point. And it sounds like other recruits aren’t crazy about him either. He feels like a recruit you take just to show off your recruiting rankings, which is something that pretenders do. And if he was committed to us, I’d probably be happy and willing to look past some things. But I think it works best that he’s not interested in one of the biggest rising star head coaches in college football.
  21. True but we have to get kids who want to leave the state anyway. You’re absolutely right that it makes it more challenging, but this sucks more for Florida and Miami than it does for us in my opinion.
  22. If Walters wants to be a head coach, but no one is offering, then this is the time to split from Frost. People will keep saying it was all Frost’s offense until he goes and proves he can do it himself. You see this kind of thing all the time in the coaching ranks. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes an OC job at a different P5 program if possible, probably one with a DC/HC. Of course, I’d love to have him here if that’s what is in the cards.
  23. I’ll be surprised if we get in the top 30. Not a whole lot of time, we need several JUCOs (who don’t get rated properly), and there are a lot of spots to fill now. And this is a crucial time for recruiting for next year’s class as well. Very important that the staff starts setting up potential spring and summer visits. If Bookie were to rejoin the fold and we snag that Martinez, then maybe it will be enough of a jolt that other highly rated recruits will jump in. But otherwise, I think it will be a process, with a lot of the fun coming with next year’s class. Frost will get the right guys though, even if they’re 3-star recruits.
  24. Not sure about bringing so many assistants from UCF but I’m willing to trust Frost. If it wasn’t Frost, I’d be really disappointed with that.
  25. Michigan State is going to roll the conference this year. This 4 game stretch sucks, hopefully we don’t go 0-4.
