  1. Or it's a good marketing ploy to try to create revenue for the university. They still have a pile of unsold tickets. Most aren't very good seats but Nebraska will travel.
  2. I actually think the better weather benefits us. In the rain it would be our run game vs theirs which likely wouldn't go very well.
  3. Looks like the rain is supposed to be in the morning. Current forecast is saying temps in the upper 50s at kickoff with light winds and less than 10% chance of precipitation. Pretty much stellar football weather.
  4. Yes, those plays have been more effective. However, they wouldn't be if we weren't also running IZ to keep defenses guessing. Come on coach, you know this, right?
  5. And to that fact, a lot of the outside success is because the defense got caught up plugging the inside while the RB bounced it outside. Those outside runs wouldn't be as effective if that is what we ran the majority of the time. The defense has to think you will run inside as well. I thought you were a coach?
  6. Kicking competition is back open according to Frost. I think there is a good chance we see the Gretna kid kicking Saturday night. I also think we see Przystup punting. He looked good last week.
  7. I misunderstood you cart before the horse comment- my apologies.
  8. Your opinion vs 7 games worth of stats... All signs point to us having success through the air. Tucker is a stop the run first kind of guy. Nebraska total yards gained on the season- Passing 1121 Rushing 815 Michigan State Defensive yards allowed on the season- Passing 808 Rushing 336
  9. One and done is correct. 2020 he was technically a senior. This is his Covid year. "Toure can play in 2021 because the NCAA granted all fall sports athletes an extra year of eligibility due to the coronavirus. He entered the transfer portal in November, three months after the Big Sky decided to try to play football in the spring semester this school year." https://406mtsports.com/college/big-sky-conference/university-of-montana/former-montana-all-american-wr-samori-toure-grad-transfers-to-nebraska/article_e109632a-3eea-578d-8dd7-379a2811377e.html
  10. Michigan State's secondary has looked pretty leaky, especially when they were trying to account for King last week. I expect us to run the ball but I'm guessing the majority of our yards come through the air. Something like 70/30 air to ground in total yards.
  11. The same buffalo team that almost beat a ranked team this past weekend. It's kind of pointless to argue with some on these forums though. They probably watched the games in a drunken state b!^@hing the entire time instead of seeing the real progress that has happened.
  12. Safety came down hard before the run fake- if anything he was reacting to the motion. The pump got their DB, #12 to pause. He closed very quickly to make the tackle so it is my opinion that without the fake to the short receiver, he stands a chance to break that play up.
  13. And experience... We have athletes who can hang with about anyone, no doubt. We do not have the same level of experience as most in the top 25. The job of coaching becomes exponentially easier the more experience your team has.
  14. Agreed- not the typical QB turn around for the handoff play action that many traditionalists are referencing though. It happens fast while the QB keeps his eyes forward. I also think the quick pump fake is what really created the separation.
  15. And Oklahoma knew this so adjusted their defense to keep him boxed in the majority of the time. They also had a spy/delayed rush to disrupt passes outside the pocket. Not sure why you quoted my post to make this statement though?
  16. What are you talking about?? He was on the field for over 50% of our offensive plays. He played a lot, especially considering the temperature on the field.
  17. They do and it is effective. If defenders have eyes in the backfield and even have to pause for a split second, it gives receivers a step. This allows Adrian more time than if we ran a long and drawn out play action- which is a bad idea given our O-line performance.
  18. It's typical knee jerk Nebraska fan reactions... has to be an easy answer, right? Golly gee why don't they just do _____ and they will start winning more.
  19. Nebraska 24 Michigan State 17 Pass 317 Run 137
  20. Levi played his a$$ off. This catch was as good as any in the game. I get people are upset we lost a game we could have won but bagging on players who are giving Nebraska everything isn't the answer- ever. Have some class...
  21. We have run play action all year. Not sure where this started or came from? Maybe some 55 followers? I already proved him painfully wrong on that point and it died for a while. Bottom line- Nebraska regularly uses play action... In every game... Just like almost every other football team on the planet. In fact, we have done it pretty well this year.
  22. Seriously. If you think this coaching staff isn't losing sleep at night trying to figure everything out, you are out of touch. Tough conversations have been had and are continuing to be had. If your name isn't Ohio State or Alabama, your program can't afford to show that on the outside. It would effect recruiting and possibly other areas to much.
  23. Putting percentages to it, this is how I see it over the next 3- 1-2 - 60% chance 2-1 - 30% chance 0-3 - 9% chance 3-0 - 1% chance I think there is a pretty good chance we are sitting at 3-3 or 4-2 after the next 3 games. Michigan State isn't a juggernaut but will be a challenge playing them at home and the game with Oklahoma will take a toll on us physically. I don't see us losing to NW unless we regress significantly.
