I think most of us agree with you to a point but the one thing our team has lacked since Pelini left is an identity. We need to know who we are and adapt and adjust as needed- crawl before you walk. One pretty good example in another B1G team- Quite a few people thought Michigan's offense was inept due to the style being run a few years ago. They hardly ever passed the ball. They have adjusted and adapted that to be an explosive offense now but they still have their core of who they are. Time will tell if it works but I like the direction we are going.

Not sure if it was a typo but it should read Nebraska HAS HAD 1 winning season in the last 8 years. We finished 9-4 in 2016. Still crappy but no reason to make it worse than it has actually been.

Oregon & Washington to the B1G - Clemson & Florida State Next?

Of course it is. TV deals have gone through the roof in the last 12 years. We got roughly the same deal they are discussing for Oregon and Washington when viewed as a % of max dollars. -

Agree. Your fan base have a preference of destinations? You guys geographically could go either way but Clemson feels like a better fit for the Big Ten than Florida State does. -

I agree with you but Florida State sure came close to saying it. Seems they are pretty concerned they will get left behind. -

I think there is a good chance the Big 10 can bring them in at a reduced rate, at least initially. Hopefully, our TV partners are willing to kick in extra to add the 4 teams, making the addition worthwhile for all schools in the conference. All 4 of those schools would be foolish to turn down even a 60% big ten payday vs staying in the sinking Pac ay 20 million/year imo. -
His post practice was impressive to me. He seems like a very smart guy who is capable of leading. Hopefully his on the field looks the part this year.

This is so true. Entertainment is evolving quickly. I think interest to watch will remain for a long time but how people access it will likely change in the near future. -
Rutgers and Michigan is at 11am on BTN. Maryland at Michigan State is at 2:30 on ESPN. Minnesota at Northwestern is TBD. Ohio State vs Notre Dame is at 6:30 on NBC. Iowa at Penn State is at 7pm on CBS. Wisconsin and Purdue play Friday night. Nebraska, Illinois, and Indiana play lower level teams so 2 of those will likely be BTN games at 2:30 and 6 so pretty good chance they get one of those slots.

1994 still hurts man, I get it. Penn State was good that year but not on the same level with Miami or Nebraska. I don't like Iowa but I personally would rather keep that series going because there is zero chance I am travelling to PA in late November for the game. Flying into Pittsburg or Philly at that time of year, on a holiday weekend, and then driving a few hours sounds horrible and expensive.

I guess they figure the gold will look good with all the red in the stadium. -

I am still glad we didn't hire that guy. -
And to limit the number of fumbles. Less violent impacts equals fewer times the ball hits the ground.

Immature kid saying immature things. NIL is separate from the university. I'm sure they have some influence but Nebraska didn't do him anything imo. And there is the fact that he went through a coaching change last year with a guy who was in way over his head to the point he allegedly assaulted his wife. Things weren't exactly smooth sailing.

Originally from Colorado- might be in the running if our coaches want him.

2023 B1G Tournament - Thunderin' Bolts vs Maryland

The tournament board says final 1-1? I don't have enough service to watch... -
I tend to see it your way as well. I believe we are headed for 2 super conferences down the road.

Not saying using a fullback won't work, especially here, but there are only about 20 teams left in the FBS that use one. It isn't like Frost was being a unique and that position, or lack of one, had no bearing on our terrible defensive and special teams play that accounted for so many of the losses. One could argue it would have gotten us a couple extra first downs on drives where we really needed one but with our horrendous line play I tend to think it wouldn't have mattered at all.

The concept has been used by numerous coaches in the past. It isn't like we are copying what Deon is doing. Here is just one example. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/23/sports/ncaafootball/uniform-number-virginia-notre-dame-michigan.html

A blackshirt is just another color of jersey.... Players absolutely care what their number is. I have seen fist fights over a number before at the high school level. Will it serve as good motivation? Who knows but I like the effort and attention to detail.

Huskers Land Texas Transfer QB Casey Thompson
Hilltop replied to suh_fan93's topic in Husker Football
I tend to think of QBs like Sims as being able to make up for some deficiencies in the running game and on the offensive line. Of course all QBs would be better with a solid rushing attack but I would rather have a dual threat at QB if I have concerns with my line.
