Whoever comes in I just hope they know how to teach our players to make a layup. So frustrating to see guys that can't make the simplest shot in basketball... and they are on scholarship!

I agree. No way to predict this year's performances. I can see us losing by 15 more easily than I can see us winning without Copeland... so they will probably win it just to confuse me even more.

Seriously? Our fan base was ready to can TO on more than one occasion. I think most people in our fan base are rational but there is a % of us that just don't get how difficult it is to build a championship level team.If we win less than 9 games this year, that group will throw a fit.

The players will motivate themselves for this home game. I think we win by 10+. Nobody on the team should feel comfortable anymore- including the coaching staff. I do believe that was part of the problem playing up and down to competition but now they are behind the 8 ball so they can't afford anymore crappy performances. I think from this point we will get maximum effort from players and TM- how good that can be is TBD.

I'm most confident that our team will continue to improve and will produce better results than last year. I'm least confident in our fan base being rational about the time it takes to put out the dumpster fire that Riley created.

Frost actually hasn't been offered an extension yet. There is a correction at the bottom of the link. My guess is Frost is making them take care of his assistants first but I'm just speculating.

I guess I'm one of the crazy one that still feels you can win within the rules and keep some level if integrity to your program. I personally would be ticked if we got caught cheating and would in no way support a coach or program that did get caught cheating.

The Big 10 was MUCH weaker last year. Anyone with 20+ wins in our conference is in this year.

It has to be hard for Miles and family to read this stuff but damn man just do your job. We don't expect a sweet 16 every year but we do expect a team to look and act well coached, play with intensity, and stop losing to the Rutgers of the world every year.

I am a positive guy who generally is on the "lets support coach and team always" side but last night did it for me. There is zero fire behind some of the guys who are supposed to be our core. Palmer needs to be benched a game or two to get re-focused. The few plays Miles does coach up are extremely predictable so they are no longer working. He needs to allow assistants, fans, his mom, or someone offer up something different so it's at least not something the opposing team can prepare for so easily. It seems like we give up a career high nightly to someone. Uninspired play, bad defense, lack of depth... = bad coaching. If Miles doesn't get us an NCAA tournament win, he has to be gone imo.

JPJ is the difference one way or the other in most of our games... when he is cold we struggle. He couldn't buy a basket for a good chunk of this game. He has been off for a while to me. Sure hope he gets hot at the right time.

The current 4 team playoff has gotten it right most of the time but I would much rather see 8 teams involved with an auto qualifier from each power 5. There is too much media bias pressure placed on the committee. Answer this, if Alabama had lost to someone early in the season and then went on a run and beat Auburn by the score of 62 to 39, do you think they would have remained ranked the same the next week? Ohio State completely destroyed top 10 ranked Michigan in their rivalry game and didn't even gain a spot. Heck in 2017, Alabama lost to Auburn in the last game and still made it in. I agree with the rankings this season but if the tables were turned, we all know that the SEC team would get the benefit simply based on perception. An 8 team playoff that guarantees a spot for each power 5 goes a long way to eliminating the perception bias imo.

The next 4 games will give him a chance to show he belongs. It's a rough stretch against some good opponents. My guess is we win one or two of the next 4 but sure would be nice to see us take 3 of them. Kind of weird coaching last night- I think he is feeling the pressure and it's showing through the players on the court.

I would argue that Pelini was a National Championship caliber coach who couldn't recruit. Take that second off the clock against Texas and I give him a decent shot to win that game behind a huge effort by Suh. Pelini had a plethora of issues but he was great at the X's and O's when he had dominant talent.

Good teams have bad nights... But I agree last night was tough to watch. Lot of basketball left to play... win 4 of the next 6 and we will be looking pretty good.

Ehhh... only thing I care about is we are getting some love nationally which helps our recruiting. I do see us as an 8-10 win team next year so 19 is probably in the ball park. The goal of these polls is to get people reading and talking so I guess they accomplish their goal every year whether they are right or wrong.

I agree completely. It's all about money. Right now they are obviously profitable so I'm going to enjoy them while we have them.
