  1. For me. What scares me the most is we don't seem really good at anything. It makes it really hard to try to put your finger on what is wrong with us. It seems like we are bad at everything. So what do you fix first? What is actually to blame. I feel like different people on this board could just talk in circles about what the actual problem is. Coaches? Players? S&C? Culture? All of it? I honestly don't know at this point.
  2. You could be right. Ultimately it all falls on Frost. But he is untouchable for a few more years to give him time and his buyout is too high anyway. So I think people see other teams that have a coach they may like or want to give more time. Those coaches make assistant changes until they find the right recipe for success. What we have right now is not working.
  3. 1. Is this the worst 3 year stretch of football since the late 1950's? 2. There has been minimal to no improvement in many areas. Some improvement lasts for a game or 2 then we take a few steps back. So it is very had to tell if any improvement has actually happened. That is my overall feeling on our team. I dont think that is exaggerating and I dont think it is unreasonable to think that is unacceptable. I want Frost to succeed and I am pissed how things are today because I was drinking the kool aide. As far as the QB's specifically. I think after Adrian's freshman year most people thought welp we got him for 2 more years then he is gone. Now 2 years later it doesnt look like he will even go pro.
  4. Everyone thinks they "know" the "reality" or the "truth" but maybe some are just optimistic to the point of being ignorant. Ignorance is bliss. We have a top notch staff, We have a top notch staff, We have a top notch staff. There I feel better if I say it enough.
  5. True. I wonder how many walk ons he will have to beat out there.
  6. Fleming goes to Maryland. Now we gotta cover him.
  7. You are right. He is a great G5 coach.
  8. So we need to go steal their QB coach since he can develop a 3 star into what you see today.
  9. I agree. I think if we had a consistent running game up the middle and a downfield passing threat those bubble screens and swing passes would open up. But we have neither so they dont work.
  10. I agree. But you should be able to have a very solid defense even if you dont recruit like Bama and Ohio State. Look at what Northwestern does. If we could be Northwestern on defense and Scott get his offense rolling. Look out.
  11. I hope Frost learned like every top school already does. Go after the best available QB every year. If he is the best and wins the job great. Some people on this board are worried about kids transferring. Well if that played into Scott’s thought process look where it left us. Adrian not as good as he hoped, Luke not ready to play probably never will be, smothers? Who knows if he is the real deal or not. Some think his HS film suggests he needs work. Haarberg is another project. I am confused what we are doing with our qb targets
  12. I would argue the entire season was garbage time
  13. So basically we were a top program for a long time, had a 20 year period of being s#!tty. Then we’re good for a long time Again and now we have been s#!tty for 17 years. Hopefully history repeats itself and we got another long period of being great again just around the corner. point being most people think we were only good during Devaney and Osborne and that’s just not true. As you said we had another 50 year stretch of being a top 5 type team
  14. Prove it. How many wins does Nebraska have pre 1960? How many wins does Iowa have pre 1960? How many wins does Northwestern have pre 1960? How many wins does Purdue have pre 1960?
  15. If he was 100% he would have signed. 95% I could believe
  16. Prior to coming to Nebraska Frost- No experience at the P5 level as Head Coach Chinander- No experience at the P5 level as Defensive Coordinator Lubick- He does has P5 experience as an OC Austin- No experience at the P5 level as Offensive Line Coach Beckton- No experience at the P5 level as a TE Coach Dawson- No experience at the P5 level as OLB coach Fisher- No experience at the P5 level as DB coach Held- No experience at the P5 level as RB coach Ruud- No experience at teh P5 level as ILB coach Tuioti- He does have P5 experience as DL coach Veduzco- He does have experience at P5 level coaching QBs. 5 years at rutgers then he dropped down to FCS level for 15 years. Usually if you are good your career progresses. You dont regress in your career. You have 3 coaches who have ever coached at the P5 level for what they are coaching at Nebraska. That is learning on the job. It is pretty evident when we get outcoached nearly every game. Or is that someone else's fault? Clapping? Media Timeouts? Penalties- sloppy play? If a coach says we are teaching the kids to do "X" but "X" never gets executed. Year after year you cant blame the kids. Its obvious your teaching/coaching is not sufficient. Are well disciplined teams that way because they have a good coach or do they just have smarter players than us?
  17. So to summarize this is the worst scoring offense we have had in the last 10 years. Also this is the 3rd worst scoring defense we have had in the last 10 years. The 2 defenses even worse were Chinander 2018 and Diaco 2017. Some of you are right. Things are trending up.
  18. Better yet who has he recruited? 1 real QB. Martinez ruined him after 1 year 3 project QBs. One may not even be a QB but a skill player Come on, we gotta do better than that.
  19. Horrible take. We are still #8 in all time wins after the last 20 years of sucking. Over 900 wins. Purdue has roughly 600. Iowa slightly over 600. Northwestern in 500s. You can’t erase 30 years of history and say without this then they are this. Because even then they are still not close in wins. We are still over 600 wins if you take away our best 30 years. I have never heard lightning in a bottle used to describe 30-40 years of excellence, 1 year maybe. 2017 UCF, 2019 LSU
  20. The difference is those guys were hired as an assistant then promoted internally because they knew what they had from first hand experience. Also when they were hired as an assistant it was 1 position coach. We have an entire staff learning on the job.
  21. Exactly, we are a blue blood that behaves like a middle of the pack program. Do you see Ohio state training staff for P5 competition or do they let other programs do that for them? They hire them once they have the credentials
  22. I agree. Frost even mentioned if he knew the season would get delayed he would not have brought the kids back on time so I think they still got normal practice reps just a delayed season. Is that accurate? Also with COVID I would think there would have been less distractions since the kids couldn’t do anything so you would think they would have spent a lot of time on football getting better.
  23. LSU is firing Pelini after one year. If you have high standards and want to be on top you can’t be afraid to make tough decisions
