  1. The “should Frost be fired” argument is pretty much over. 5-7 and he should be fired. The narrative should shift to, “does Alberts and Nebraska have saint like patience”. Frost has done enough to be fired at 100% of the schools with Nebraska level expectations.
  2. Only we would be surprised our 3-5 team with our 15-25 coach lost a game. We are what we are.
  3. We didn’t roll over. I thought we were dead in the water. Put these f#&%ers away.
  4. “This isn’t the same team that lost to Illinois in week 0” I’m afraid a Frost coached team will always be capable of being that team.
  5. This is what scared me about all the “we turned a corner talk”. Was and still is too early to declare what this team is.
  6. Damn, Husker Nation’s thoughts are with Chins and the family. Some things are bigger than football.
  7. I think Moos kinda just let Frost sink or swim on his own. That was fine for Bolt, dude was at A&M for 5 years with CWS pressure playing in the SEC, B1G pressure is nothing for him. Hoiberg literally coached one of the most storied franchises at the highest level of his sport. Frost and his entire staff are navigating something entirely new at a level none of them have really been. They need veteran voices around them, the more guys like Trev, Busch, TO that can be around and let the coaches bounce ideas off the better.
  8. I hope so, if we never seen one of those turds for awhile it will have been worth it
  9. Spot on Padre. Have to beat Purdue and Minny. Don't care where the 3rd win comes from, just win another one. 6-6 and a bowl would be awesome. Anything better than 6-6 would be amazing. 5-7 and I'm pretty bitter we're at home after November for the 5th straight year.
  10. Minny RB room is obviously a wreck. They do have their best two WR healthy again, the only other time both have been healthy this season was their 30-0 win over Colorado. They were down both those guys against BG which severely impacted their ability to stretch the field, made them completely one dimensional.
  11. I think the only obvious change right now is Verdu to analyst and hire a full-time ST coach. 7-5 or better, we run it back next year with ST coach being the only change. 6-6 and you'd see Austin on the hot seat depending on if the OL continues to struggle. 5-7 or worse, I'm not sure who is safe - because I think a 5th straight bowless season will have many fans at a breaking point.
  12. I get that, but we need two capable backs. Seems like our coaches have a horrible grip of the RB room. They finally found Rahmir who started as #4 on the depth chart, but can clearly be the guy who takes 50+% of the snaps at RB. Rahmir does a lot of things really well, but at 185lbs he's not a guy you can run consistently between the tackles in the B1G. Yant is young, and made mistakes - but it would behoove the coaching staff to continue to get him reps and confidence. We are gonna need more than Johnson. Guys like Adrian, Jurgy , Benhart, Turner, were given a chance to make mistakes and grow on the field. Seems like some guys are given leeway and some guys make one error and are put on a milk carton. Maybe it's just how Held runs his room.
  13. I can't help but thinking what a difference that Illinois game would have made. It's a s#!t stain on what should be looked on as a really good year for Frost and the boys. A lot riding on the next two games. A loss would negate any good will built up by playing good teams tough. "Must Win" gets thrown out a lot, but you are right on - both are "Must Win" games
  14. ACL, MCL, Meniscus per his mom. I did the same exact thing when I got rolled up on in college. About the same time of year. I was back, helmet only, for spring ball.
  15. I’d look at Ed Warinner for OL. He’s built very-very good OLs in this conf. I think for what Frost wants to do, a stud OL coach is absolutely vital.
  16. I was frustrated last night, but have seen progress. I think it needs to culminate with beating poor-average teams. Losing to Purdue or Minny would negate losing close to good teams.
  17. Trev has expectations. I'm guessing he won't fire Frost this year, as Frost is meeting his expectation of playing hard and playing good teams down to the wire. Beating teams like Purdue, Minny, NW also fit into the incremental progress Trev wants to see. Eventually the progress will move forward to where we are bowling and competing for division titles - or progress will cease. Trev won't keep Frost around just to keep him around, it will be earned. If Frost keeps it up, he will have earned next year.
  18. Next week will be a big progress game for me. You got a guy in Fleck that out coached you the last two years, he’s got a hot and cold team, but had two weeks prepare for you. Get the win and it gives me more confidence that the close losses are signs of progress.
  19. Great. There are metrics he has to hit in the next 14 months. If he goes 2-3 the rest of this year and 5-7 the next year there is no runway.
  20. If he finishes 6-6 and continues to build on it, yes, absolutely.
  21. No idea. I’m just done being cool with 5-7. Frost is running out of runway. He might survive another sub .500 year, but 5 in a row is game over. He needs to start winning these type of games or he’s done. No more **so close**.
  22. So if we go 2-1 against minny, Purdue and Wisconsin and lose to OSU/Iowa - you’re good with that. This is healthy for me, I need to know I have a unrealistic expectation of this program.
  23. So you’re cool if we finish this year 5-7?
