  1. I don't think we need top 5 classes. Right around 12-15, and occasionally higher with the old Nebraska formula will do the trick: 1. Sign kids who want to work/meet character standards (staff is high on this), in order to turn 3/4* rated kids into 4/5* football players. 2. Develop/maintain culture of competition, accountability and brotherhood. 3. Out lift, out scheme, and out prepare the rest of the league. These are things Frost is setting out to do, exactly like T.O. did. #1 is the reason we may not see consistent top 10 classes ever as they have a very specific type of player they want. Might not always be the highest rated.
  2. I would agree with that. What I am saying is you won't find people with no degree and loads of experience in 10-15 years as no one will hire them today for them to have experience later.
  3. My work requires a degree for new hires. Several of my best coworkers don't have degrees however, but extensive experience among them was the common denominator. That path isn't available for young people now as they can't get experience without a degree. Field is computer engineering.
  4. Agreed. I would like them to keep being paid enough so these guys only would only leave for a perfect opportunity, never money. Pay them enough so group of 5 jobs aren't even a factor. Continuity is way more important than people think, especially at Nebraska.
  5. Goes to show ya that sometimes recruiting experts either don't know, or just make things up based on their perception.
  6. ¿Ustedes no pueden copiar y pegar en google para aprender algo nuevo?
  7. By that logic, as soon as a team slips up all their games are meaningless afterwards. 95% of other college football games are as well. Having a set of rules where the qualifying criteria is laid out ahead of time, and all teams know exactly what they need to do, is the only fair way and is how it is done everywhere else. Criteria that changes week to week and year to year isn't fair. There should also be a level playing field as far as how many conference games, actually having to be in a conference, etc., but you know all about that. The whole purpose of sport is to settle things on the field, not by a subjective commitee deciding who has a chance. It sounds like you just don't want any of the have nots at the table. I am a fan of a "have" school and I want the little guys to be let in because that is what sports are about. As far as Washington is concerned, my point was partly about money, but how do you know they wouldn't make new fans? You think we shouldn't try and correct things because you think you know how it will turn out, so why try?
  8. This sums up how I feel exactly. The NCAA/ sponsors/schools/conferences all want to make more money. This would bring in more than they've ever seen. College football is the only sport that gets the postseason completely wrong. It makes zero sense when people who are usually good at making money dig their heels in over something stupid and cost themselves. Take the Washington Redskins. Dan Snyder has a golden opportunity to not only garner goodwill, earn new fans, and sell a boatload of merchandise/sponsorships if he would just change the name. But he refuses because he is an idiot that doesn't want anyone telling him what to do.
  9. Every time I hear about a coach suggested position switch after a kid is in school I wonder if this isn't sure to follow. He did mention grades though...
  10. If we can get kids here on OV Visits....we have chances to have a chance...
  11. I would love to be wrong, but I just don't see either of the Pola cousins leaving AZ/CA unless it is for Alabama. I think the move to wait until February is specifically to see if there is a spot at Alabama available. Robinson we have some family history with, so I could see pulling him from AZ however.
  12. Best of luck to the young man. I have had a few too many drinks tonight with OU faithful....and I keep telling them NU is coming. Be here soon baby. Get ready.
  13. I suspect we don't have the entire story, but this is big time college football. You want top 15 classes, conference championships and playoff berths? Sometimes hard decisions have to be made if circumstances change to make the team better. A D1 starter grad transfer at DT wants in, and other options have emerged. It is what it is, but it looks like the staff was up front with Tony.
