Watson will probably leave at some point, but it will only be for a HC gig at a university the caliber of Nebraska. I mean last season he turned down an offer for a lateral move to Alabama. Refresh my memory, was it a O coordinator job or a QB coach offer? offensive coordinator, but he'd be answering to nick satan. wats got a pay bump as an incentive to stay, but to be honest i wouldn't want to work in a nuthouse like alabama. Looking at Satan's record he will probably be gone in three years. The guy suffers from adult ADD. Which would leave an HC job open. I guess Watson is really true to the Huskers but will probably have to leave with a solid D-1 offer.

I thought it was well written- and accurate. He was an absolute beast on the field, but unfortunately he was also a beast in the community. I don't know what's going on with him today.

I dropped him a note saying if he gigs Osborne for being "bland" then he has to do the same for Paterno. If Osborne is Vanilla, Paterno is French Vanilla. I disagree, Paterno is pretty candid and has been an outspoken personality for several issues in college football throughout the years. Osborne, albeit great, has a bland personality. My main objection on the list is Woody Hayes. Osborne and Bowden had better track records, and neither one of them punched an opposing player.

I think winning the north is a legitimate and realistic goal for this year. I will personally set the bar higher in the following seasons. I agree, but how I read this article is that the author does not believe we will ever match our glorious past(as he writes) which I assume to mean the number one team in the nation year end and year out. Rather we will become the beast of North. That is not good enough for me. I don't think many teams will have that one or two perennial tops spots that we use to enjoy. I want to think in terms of being the beast of the b12, not just the beast of the North.

Good article although it is not enough for me to have the Huskers as a B12 North powerhouse. I just think that thinking is setting our standards too low.

I think you are out of luck. Where do you think they will put the cell phone towers? I don't even get service between Lincoln and Nebr City. Satellite phones do work Oops, thinking of Carribbean - Mexico west coast. If you are in sight of the coast you might - but don't know about Mexican cell phone service. The cruise line just got back to me and they do have full cell service while sailing. $2.49 a minute which I think is reasonable.

Man, I wish I could just not be in touch. I have an elderly parent that I do need to make myself accessible to in case of emergency.

Do cell phones work on cruise ships? Do cruise ships have phones you can pay for, and probably dearly for, while out at sea? My family is going on a five day cruise to Mexico in a few weeks and I'm tying up loose ends before we leave. I would like to check my VM once of twice per day and be reached in case of a family emergency. I have alltel service if that matters.

My favorite Husker moment would be watching the TD when the receiver catches the ball laying on the ground after having "kicked" the ball into the air. Although the play probably wasn't called that way the execution of that play was enough to make me a fan! I'm sure you all know which play I am talking about. My second favorite would be the one where Bo calls the ref a "#@*&" leading to a 15 yard penalty. Can't remember the game but I think it may have been against VT.... That play was against Missou in 97 and made Matt Davidson the household name is he today. Kicked by Shevin Wiggins that initially said he did it on purpose and then recanted when told it would have been illegal had he done it on purpose. It was the greatest play I never seen because I was swarmed by the Nebraska band in the stands.
