  1. I enjoyed your post. Do you think we would win it or lose it?
  2. I just took another paragraph to state my intention. So, now in your follow-up, I am doing so again. You are reading into what I said and refusing to hear me, which is okay. Just pointing out that I took the time to state my intention. If it is not received then you simply choose to see me and my words in the wrong way [which I get].
  3. Just an FYI, I didn't state or say that in bold. I simply stated that I would be curious when the interview came in. We seemed to have him on the hook leaning our way, then he signed with Oregon. When did that interview get done? I don't know. It sounds like we had him and then a call came in to interview and then the kid signs with Oregon. It's just interesting to me. In no way would I say or am I implying that Tuioti was working the whole season to find his next gig. A new coach just got hired 8 days prior and he got a call some time in that 8 day period when the kid was [as it sounds] started to lean our way and then we seemed surprised we didn't get him. What changed within all that? I don't know. Sounds interesting to me. No butthurt at all here at all nor any claim for speculation to anything done or being done wrong by Tuioti during the season or even in the last eight days.
  4. All of that makes the Ben Roberts DT miss very interesting. He seems to be leaning toward us and then last minute we missed out. In that, I'd be real curious when the interview came as Tuioti sounds like he was working for us ... but maybe did "catch that fish" but it wasn't for us but for the Ducks. I'm not mad or upset ... it's just the way recruiting goes and it would fascinating if that occurred or what occurred.
  5. Just wow. After all the "stuff" around this guy. This is just classic.
  6. I've heard the plan is to move Fidone to Center to replace Cam Jergens. Ha ha. Just some humor.
  7. You gotta be calling for the head of Frost and can't be sleeping well then. Doesn't it make a lot more sense to see more of a "perfect storm" then to say AM was the wrong QB for what he was wanting to do? Doesn't it make sense to see the OL as an issue and special teams as an issue and the misuse of players like Wandale? But ... that's why you gotta love a forum for this type of convo. The best part is ... I don't think you are an idiot. I get your point and what you are saying. I can fellowship [with you and converse. Enjoy your Sunday.
  8. Ah, okay. I thought Scott choose AM to fit and run his offense. My bad.
  9. Ya, I agree with this. So much so, I think it would have been most fascinating to see what and how Whipple would have used AM. I think we all might be pleased with what he would have done with him. As with Wandale, even AM [even with his shoulder injury issues], will probably get used in a fashion that makes us look ... well ... interesting. Hopeful for better days and years.
  10. I'll often think about what it might had been had he had a QB coach, a center, an OL, and some special teams. I've been on the receiving end of the "perfect storm" and that seems to be what happened here for me. As much as I can throw stones at various players [for me, Cam Jergens comes to mind], I also know that within his whole set of learning and faults, that there are moving parts all around and in that "perfect storm", nothing seemed to work. Hopefully, there will come the day again where you have a good player whose been in program who can just sort of be a "plug and play" player and the system just keeps steamrolling the next season. For us, we can't seem to drop the "k" from kNebraska yet. For me, I could have gone with AM for another season sensing that their was nothing better, yet, totally get him or Scott moving on to something that is "different", if not better. I really don't think there is a "Really hope SF learned his lesson on what he needs out of a QB going forward." I could point you to quite a few QB's in Nebraska history we've had that were similar to AM. So, I don't see a "lesson to be learned" regarding him selecting a "type" of QB. There are many pieces around this "perfect storm" [at least as I choose to see it]. We now have a new direction, which appears to be Smoothers. Hopeful to get the "GO" back in "GO BIG RED"!
  11. This guy made one of the vaccines. Here's what he had to say about Omicron. https://fb.watch/9_XOBQvsEO/
  12. Looks like we added a 2* WR today from New Mexico St, Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda. https://247sports.com/college/nebraska/Article/Nebraska-football-Huskers-land-wide-receiver-target-Isaiah-Garcia-Castaneda--178633261/
  13. I loved his presser as well. I'm his age range so I related to him. I certainly hope he isn't needed in the capacity ... but I could see him being an "interim" person as well if not the next coach. He's the kind of guy that I think can "right" a ship. I'll enjoy his input and think he has a great temperament consisting of humility and yet knowledge built amidst relationships. I'm a relationship guy ... so, not everyone will get him and his way ... but he seems to be a real solid, experienced person in what he does.
  14. JJ, you are a hoot for sure. A shining example of a human. Glad to know you whit and charm.
  15. In your opinion. To differ is to be called names [ya, I know, part of the greatest fans on earth cluc, right?]. Have any statement to make toward @Toe or @jjhusker? It's a forum to express views guys. Cam was an underperformer ... as I see it.
  16. My view of Cam Jergens was that he was a total bust. It took him a good two years to hike a ball for goodness sakes. I'm not cutting him a break. If we can't do that for a player like Wandale and say he isn't any good and we don't need him for his Junior and Senior [best] years, then I can't evaluate Cam on what he would/could be potentially. All I can do is evaluate him for what he accomplished. Cam wasn't Dave Remington. Not even close. He is nothing more than a bloviated and perhaps fabricated "great player". His best season was this one on what was a "less than average" Husker OL that went 3-9. From my perspective we got one [1] decent/good year out of three years of development. When it comes to what he could bring to the stability and growth of the program, he can and has preferred to move on. So have I. Personally, I don't think it's a tough position to "plug and play" and Cam was certainly not a Center that was just so dominant that he opened up holes for really anything. And again, it took him two years to really "figure it out" [which surprised me for someone that Frost and company raved on for "great potential"]. As it relates to the next possible "Cam", we don't really know. Sure, there is a bit of "tongue and cheek" with how I phrased that ... but it would be epic to replace Cam with a better Cam ... especially since he also was originally a TE. You think the new Cam took two years to learn how to snap a ball as a walk-on? Who is smarter there and quicker to figure that one out [Jergens was the best player in the state and supposedly a phenomenal football player]? I'll wait with real excitement to see what we can muster up in that spot. If there is any position on the OL that is easier to fill [as I see it], it would be Cam's spot. Personally, I'm not gonna project losing him as we now have a "massive" hole to fill. I'd rather just leave Cam Jergens in the past as having minimal impact as a Center at in Nebraska folklore and turn to the next man up who will add to the OL and perhaps get us back to respectability. For me, Cam Jergens was not that guy. I don't personally like "Mr. Wonderful" on Shark Tank, but in his tone ... when I think of Cam Jergens ... "I'm dead to him". I will now wait with real excitement for the next man up ... maybe it's this new Cam. Ha ha.
  17. Ya, that is a load of pain in every capacity. Losing a parent at that age ... wow. And then both. That happened to me at 50 years old and it crushed me. Grace to him amidst all that.
  18. Dang, this would be epic and such a win for us to replace Cam with a better Cam.
  19. I will "trump" that. Whatever we have at RB can't be fully seen presently do to us being 1-2 pieces away. Still, after all the current moves, I still believe we are 2 pieces away on the OL just to be in the middle tier of our side of the conference. We won't be in the Top 5 just in our conference! At present, the OL looks to be the same as this year, if you take out Cam and bring in a few new pieces or considered upgrades. For me, I will see EJ like Wandale, a "piece" whom will look like he just isn't that good, all the while we can't block and he will be used perhaps in a wrong fashion [again?]. Then, he too, can transfer back to his main school Minny [like Wandale did for Kentucky]. Minny will get him for the "good, productive years. Ha ha [it just seems our plight].
  20. Got it. Ya, I wasn't debating ... just seeking your input or view. Anymore ... or moving forward, I just don't know. I'm still overall thinking that the OL is still a few years away before I can truly see what a RB looks like [at least, that is what seems to be being sold to my mind].
  21. Decked, it seems he had a good senior year for sure. Here are those numbers: He amassed 2,733 all-purpose yards (rushing, receiving and returning), surpassing 100 yards on the ground in each game, breaking 200 yards or more seven times and had four or more touchdowns in eight games. Defensively he made 71 tackles, including 10 for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He returned three punts for 28 yards and returned four kickoffs 181 yards including one touchdown. Here are his "totals" for high school: 623 carries for 4,697 yards and 62 touchdowns. He scored 66 total touchdowns and accounted for 5,868 all-purpose yards. He added 138 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. My guess is that between from his Junior and Sophomore season the rest of those stats came. He was on only an 8-3 team this past year. So, it appears that he was probably one of only a few really good players for them. Sounds like a guy that we would like if not only for a year or two [until we decide that they are good to have for their Junior and Senior season like Wandale? Right]. With losing Hayes, and Citizen a long-shot, he looks like a good get. So, why the "meh" for you?
  22. We all like promotions. I'm also sure that initial NFL contract is alluring. If it was me being Cam and I had the issues I've had at the position, I would want another year to develop my skills and prove to myself that I know when I step into the pros that I am prepared and ready. Obviously, he believes he has "arrived" or that it's not worth "enduring" being at Nebraska another year [the stock of has dropped in his mind]. Either way, he's a big boy. He's free to be and do as he sees fit for him. I'll appreciate his contributions for one year. He really was more of a problem the other years as I see it. Hopefully, Scott learns to not put as much into a player and as well has more consequences moving forward for underachieving players like Cam for most of his career. Like AM, Cam was a sort of personal "golden boy" for Scott. Neither of them really worked out to the degree he expected [as I see it]. Now, Scott seems "pissed" that Cam didn't stick it out for the "payoff" year. I get Scott's frustration [if that is the reality]. Still, Cam is Cam and has Cam first in his mind. Like the portal ... this is what everyone thinks is "great" about football and life. We all get our free-will choice and the resulting consequences [but we also want every situation to turn our perfect for everyone involved]. Ha ha.
  23. After watching his senior highlights off of 247, it's the hit that the QB takes at the 1:00 to 1:09 minute mark that caught my eye. That QB was quite a "hefty" guy and took a good hit on that one. Ha ha. https://247sports.com/Video/Decoldest-Crawford-Shreveport-Green-Oaks-2021-senior-season-high-10791848/ I don't know where to go with this guy. If LSU wants him and he's a guy Mickey wants I guess that is a good thing. Seems like more is made of his name than anything else. Compared to what we have in recruitment, it appears that he would improve the special teams as a start.
