  1. Agreed. Guess I am still pissed about Cox. Top 40 player and it seems the board didn't see that as a major fail. To me, seems like we are drooling over this guy. He is a "get", another prospect yes.
  2. Frankly, I don't think we excel in the coaching of QB's to move as slow as we do with these QB's. We need to be better at developing and evaluating the talent in the QB area or we will continue on this road.
  3. Bring a Top 40 player, 4-star grade, being a legacy, hearing we have 25 scholarships, the need at LB, the flexibility to play both O and D and make an impact ... and to not push as strong as we did (from what I hear) and to lose him to a team like ASU is a disappointment in my limited recruiting experience.
  4. To me the focus of this thread should have been the incredible recruiting opportunity we have in Cali and now nationally. I could care less about the announcers.
  5. Agreed, I still wonder what they saw on his play at LB that said that was not worth taking? For me, this was a "fail" by our staff. More then enough reasons why he should be , especially being a 4-star that we didn't seem to close hard on.
  6. With all the misses ... this one leaves me bewildered. I agree. We should not slow play this QB. We have room to take two if they have a stud that says he is interested but still looking.
  7. Guy is a horse. See him as a blocking/receiving TE as well.
  8. Scary, makes me think about journalism done by the networks and what they do and don't cover. With the media being mostly liberal it's no wonder people think this country is being run as the framers intended. Now back to football. ..
  9. Peppers! In fact, I would like to see a big recruiting weekend with 10-15 invites from California and Arizona to the game.
  10. ebraska close? Ya, I think so. Sadly, I've seen many talented teams in many sports over the years that just never seem to jump the hurdle of fixing the mistakes, penalties, drops, fumbles ... etc. For whatever ever reason ... being discipline or just bad luck ... we have not crossed the bridge to get that done ... making us an average to good team at best.
  11. Michigan's recruiting is lookin' really sick. Of course, like us, all of the talk on our current ranking and how we finish is all subject to a review 2-3 years down the road. One only has to look at the Husker 2011 class. We raved about getting Green and wanting Starling ... both helping make that class #15 on Rivals. We never saw Starling and Green then transfers to TCU.
  12. Good luck at TCU Aaron Green. I will always regret seeing you leave Nebraska. All the best to you. I wanted to root for you with that on your helmet.
  13. I agree with your thoughts. When you have alot of talent at a school like USC, you need to have great character and coaching that can harness all that ego. Time will show what Kiffin can do with it all ... my guess is that the same will happen as the last "bunch of leadership" that led to the Reggie Bush saga. Sadly, that place seems to collect all the talent ... and the ego's ... and then we shall see what kind of character both Kiffin and the kids he recruits have.
  14. Guess I oppose the B1G stance on determining a champ and what our Chancellor is saying. I think they are dead wrong.

Maybe the B1G should rename themselves to the 'RIAA'

All conferences besides the SEC have major fear over the 4 best teams playing for a championship. It is millions of dollars on the line. Major conferences have been able to strong arm more than their share of bowl revenue but now that it might actually be about competition they are turning into politicians.

I like the plus 1 idea. Or why not do the four highest ranked team with the provision that one conference can have a max of 2 teams compete in the 4-team playoffs?

  15. Mizzou would be such a better fit in the B1G over the $EC. They know that. Wait till they see all the illegal recruiting they will have to do just to stay relevant. ARK was willing to do it ... I just don't see MU doing it or stomaching the sanctions well at all. High risk/reward. I'd also favor a school like Kansas, then Notre Dame. I'm up in the air on the other spot.
  16. If he doesn't ... we won't see a good WR recruit prospect come our way in a long time.
  17. It was a double miss. We lose Peat which would have made this guy a nice get. And from his perspective you would think walking on at Nebraska and earning the scholarship would have been more attractive. He would have received two years of scholarship and had a chance at a title with the Huskers and probably gave himself a better chance at the NFL. Don't forget that a degree from Nebraska would look better that NSD. Bummer how it all worked out. Wish he would reconsider and walk-on.
  18. Crave s will e joy his ebraska visit a d some kool-aid.
  19. Who is the "we" in his comment? Rather, who needs to be influenced along with the recruit?
  20. I liked what I saw. I agree with MinnesotaHusker, the QB seems to hold Kevin back a bit. This kid would thrive in a pass friendly place. I think there are more big plays with a QB or offense that gets him the ball.

USC is truly amazing. What they have recruited with fewer scholarships is bewildering. One would have thought that with their limitations they would take a stop back. A few years later they are projected a favorite to win it all. Scary!
  22. Congrats to their "12th man". They won it last I saw. No tears here.
