  1. 3-3 ... they look great ... we look very average so far.
  2. I couldn't imagine another Martinez even considering the Huskers.
  3. My score for TX/OU was 41-17. Surprised to see K-State beat MU.

  4. I had OU winning 41-17. Got that one about right.

  5. Wow, 57-7. Boise St. would roll us by 3-4 TD's. Most impressive. I'll be interested to see what they do when they lose their QB. For this year however, they would kick our butts.
  6. It has never made much sense to me why the B1G hadn't grabbed Mizzou ... it's even more now. The thing about this is that if the B1G were to offer an invite to Mizzou at this critical time ... you would be taking the a big domino to the end of the Big 12. Ya, it could still survive ... but you would end up with a solid conference and all that could really be pieced together after that is perhaps the TeXas 12 or TeXas 10. Personally, screw ND ... give them one final offer to join and if they don't ... round it out to 14 and be done with it. I'd take Kansas from the Big 12 for basketball.
  7. Maybe Beck could start recruiting a passsing QB saying, "We want you ... look what I did with Martinez ... he's an athlete playing the QB spot, he doesn't throw the ball well but I had him throw 12 times in 15 plays. Your a 5 star QB ... just think how many times I'll have you throw." Some humor there ... but it does make me think ... if we are gonna throw that often with this QB, working to his weakness ... then why the hell not bring in the passer that can atleast do the reads and make the throws.
  8. Most impressive ... your team looks promising in representing the B1G in the conference championship and beyond.
  9. Love it EZ ... and I agree with you. Thanks for posting your experiences with the game.
  10. I'm not down on Martinez. I only got to watch 10 minutes of the game ... and it was the part where he threw the three interceptions. Maybe I just saw two of them. Anyway, he made bad reads and then made bad throws. The question I had is why the calls with a 14-13 lead with the game in hand and the half just around the corner. Again, I didn't see any other part of the game, just didn't understand why the game plan wasn't to run, sustain drives and get to the half. Yes, run the offense ... but our offense isn't "give the ball to Martinez and make throws". I'll put this loss and play calling, bad reads and bad throws and not simply on Martinez. Is he a QB ... yes, cause he is our QB ... but I have never believed he was a true QB. You get this sort of thing with this kind of player, that's why you put him into good situations to throw the ball ... that is where he was failed by the coaching ... then he botched it up with the reads and throws. If he learns from it ... it will be okay. I still have us losing three more games, so I'm not worried ... it's all the "undefeated" and "championship" or "conference championship" people that will have the problem. By the way, my score of the game was 24-45 ... and I'm not a "hater" ... maybe I'm more "realistic" then even I thought.
  11. I don't see Wisconsin as overrated. I've thought we were overrated. I had us as Top 25 at the start of the season ... and would still have us there. Wisky play the kind of game most honest Huskers would say we want to play. They keep replacing good OL each year and have a solid running game. Wilson has been more then solid. Has our defense played any QB with his athletic ability running and throwing accuracy. Nope. Look at what the Washington QB was able to do. Wilson is better ... and playing better. If the status quo happens for both teams, Wisky wins this one rather easily ... without the Huskers being embarrassed ... just beat. However, if our D can cause some turnovers I can see us making this a game ... assuming our D shows up. I can see Wisky having 5-6 drives for TD's where we can't stop them and that's more where I'm leaning after watching our defense struggle this season to find itself. This I do know, if put the ball on the carpet, have the penalties, etc, we will get blown out. I'm thinking 24-45 ... a Badger win. Say, this isn't a ... "I told you so". I was just looking up this post to try to remember what I was thinking. I think my thoughts were about dead on. Let's keep our heads up guys.
  12. Wish I could find my prediction, several posts I did had this the score around this. All is well.

  13. Let's don't miss the mark ... this will come down to blocking. Thus, we shall struggle mightily in this game.
  14. Welcome to our board. Not a fan of first time posters ... period. I'll start reading your posts when you get around 200 or so.
  15. Having this on GameDay is gonna be awesome. However, I still think we get a public flogging and lose by three TD's ... and that's if we play well and don't turn the ball over. Our O and D lines are gonna show ... we have much work to do. I just see this as reality ... but I still have us ranked as a 20-25th in the country.
  16. SERIOUSLY. Even in short-yardage situations, they're 8-10 yards off their guy. I specifically remember a 3rd and 3 play, Wyoming in the shotgun as usual, our CBs (minus Fonz) are giving a HUGE cushion. WR runs a quick out past the marker and its an easy first down catch. I get the whole 'bend but don't break' approach, but come on. It's really frustrating. Enunwa is a monster. Another huge stiff arm. Hard to tackle when he's got the ball. Great down field blocking. He is so ridiculously physical. Legate is also a great blocker. He had some huge blocks last night. Choi is a mauler. He had another play near the goal line where he drove his guy 5-7 yards down the field and out of the play. He has been a huge bright spot on the O-line. Thorrell, Blatchford, Cassidy: get off the field. You are physically and athletically outmatched. I don't care how smart you are or how well you know the defense, if you aren't fast enough to get in the position you need to be in, then what good does that knowledge do you? They have no business playing against D1 competition. Especially considering that they're matched up against WRs, some of the speediest and most athletic players on opposing teams. For some reason this whole game seemed like a secondary experiment on defense. Cooper at CB, Stafford at nickel, Thorrell getting playing time, etc. Josh Mitchell's absence last night was inexcusable. He's better than Thorrell, Blatchford, and Green so get him more playing time because he'll only get better with experience. Husker Richard ... very salty. I liked what you said and how you said it.
  17. Four games in ... I'm still waiting for my Huskers to get going.

Without any push on the DL and the lack of ability to throw the ball and block on the OL ... I still think we lose four games this year. Regardless, I just don't like how we play D ... and on the O side, I just don't like the OL push, the passing, more then anything, the lack of protection of the ball.

  18. Enjoyed this video and song. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
  19. No offense intended ... to me, it seemed like the players were in slow motion. Wonder how this kid would stand up against better players.
  20. You can have a pretty reasonable schedule and still play four teams from big conferences can't you. Choose four conferences and cycle thru a top tier, two middle teirs and one bottom feeder. Alternate them. Yes, you will end up with some tough years ... but overall, you can be measured against a team that atleast played the top tier of that conference. That makes a hell of alot more sense to me then playing a team like say a Missouri State (my college). Our Huskers have a few of those games every year. I don't see why anyone even wants to pay for the tickets. And then we play them everyone seems stressed out about why we can't even put that kind of a team away. Personally, I think it's good to force a team to play to a "higher level" early. The game is suppose to be a test ... not a rest. My two cents.
  21. I enjoyed your post. Agreed with your post 200%! All the best.
