  1. the "public good" by who's definition? My definition is getting the hell out of my life and not trying to control what I say or do. If you are so stupid you didn't know sugar was bad for you then you get what you deserve. The first line from that article.. The sugar industry paid scientists in the 1960s to play down the link between sugar and heart disease and promote saturated fat as the culprit instead, newly released historical documents show. This very thing happens today for many "issues" today, and they are paid by the government to produce results to allow government to insert more control over the people.
  2. bingo, which is exactly what I did.. hadn't lifted in years and started back up, but jumped the gun on how much weight I started with.... pop in my shoulder, torn a rotator cuff. This was about a year ago. I think I am able to start back up, but it will be very, very slow. I am just doing push ups to start with, or if on the bench just doing the barbell by itself. EDIT: I use to have the huskers workout (from the 80's), but can't find it any more. Would love to do it again, but without trying to lift as much as I did back in the day.
  3. I just bought testogen, I bought it to help me to be more active because I want to start working out more... just to get into better shape, not to gain large muscle mass. I should get it tomorrow, so I can let you know how it makes me feel very soon. I am going to use it to get more energy, build some muscle, but mainly gain strength.. and of course trim down.
  4. I am 48 and starting to get back in to getting fit.. as much as I can anyway. I am 5' 11" 195. Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, my recommended weight is 132.6 lbs - 179.2 lbs lol, 132-179? holy crap. Anyway, I know I need to drop some weight, but all the way down to 179? I don't think so! I had planned dropping to about 185, with weight training and cardio. I am only looking to regain strength, not build mass. My body type is one that shows muscle, even though I have not touched weights for 30 years... especially in my upper body. Not sure why, but it has always been that way for me. I know I need to clean up my diet, which is easier said that done... sometimes. My wife went on a strict "no carbs" diet and it made a big impact for her... it isn't easy, though. I work 70 miles away from home so that is about 2 hours and 30 minutes of drive time each day, I tend to get tired by the time I am home, so I decided to try testogen, to see if that helps
  5. Why do think NU was getting pushed around so much? Well, now you know!
  6. The replacement setter is supposed to be very good, so ti sounds like we may not drop that much. here is Hunters bio before Nebraska.. • Redshirted the 2016 season • Attended Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio • Graduated early to join the Huskers for the 2016 spring semester • Ranked the No. 41 prospect in 2016 by PrepVolleyball.com and the No. 8 setter • Named an Under Armour first-team All-American • Won the Best Setter award at the Under Armour All-America showcase • Named Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year • Was a two-time all-Ohio first-team selection • Led Dublin Coffman to the Division I state final as a senior in 2015 • Averaged 9.7 assists per set as a senior with 171 digs, 146 kills and 38 aces • Played club volleyball with Mintonette Sports VBC
  7. Oh yeah, for some reason I was thinking she was a junior..
  8. Those teams have that one or two "standout" players that can totally control a game, no doubt. NU, on this years team, was not expected to get this far, let along win the whole thing. They really did it via teamwork and just plain ass hard work. This just shows you how good of coaches John and his assistants are! Foecke is one of those players, and it really showed in those last two games. She was quiet at times during the season mainly because her role changed somewhat this year. Albrecht was really the surprise player in my opinion, and was key to NU's success this year. She was always good in the back row, but this year she was a much improved outside hitter. NU pretty much always has top ranked classes, they are just used differently, and often times don't seem like the standout because of their role. Next year will be a fun ride.. Holman, Strivins, Sweet, and one player we didn't see a bunch this year, but is an elite player is Anezka Szabo. Her role will increase next year for sure, with Albrecht being gone.... and of course we have Foecke back for another year. We very well could see a repeat!
  9. yeah, my mistake. I should have better clarified my position. Even very good coaches can make mistakes and have teams unprepared. and yes, I 100% agree NU is the better overall team for a number of reasons.. being mentally tough is a big part of that.
  10. and I didn't say she was a bad coach, I said they were not very well coached, which is 100% true, and there is a difference. My mistake was I should have clarified better. I was more talking about for this game. That said, those mental mistakes fall on the coach, she did not have them prepared. Well coached, mentally strong teams overcome mistakes, teams that are not, don't.. they didn't! There is a reason why teams do not serve receive well under pressure!
  11. Ok, bad was the wrong term, but you can clearly see when a player/team makes the kind of mistakes they made there is a coaching problem. Every time we had an opportunity to put the ball down at the net we did it, every time they did they botched it. That is mentally weak and that can be fixed through coaching. Same with the hitting errors. NU didn't do anything to make Florida look silly, except maybe a couple times at the net, Florida made themselves look silly with the many hitting mistakes and straight up bad decisions (letting balls drop on overpasses that should never have dropped). At the end of your post you agree with me, NU is a better coached team! players knowing their role is part of the coaches job. As I am sure the inevitable statement will come... yes, I know a thing or two about volleyball and coaching volleyball, I have done both. no doubt about that. I, personally, believe he makes those assistant coaches better.
  12. Florida made Florida look silly. They were not a very well coached team, making stupid mistakes at the net numerous times. They were also not a mentally tough team! There were a couple times when they got rolling and NU couldn't handle them, but because of their weaknesses NU was able to come back every time. John Cook could coach baseball and would win, he actually started his career as a football coach. NU was the less "talented" team, but by far the best mentally tough team and of course the best coached team. Just think what a 6' 8" player would do under Cook.. Man oh man!
  13. but yet you made the effort to begin with.. Go figure! Oh and it is "You're"
  14. Damn it, I said that was my only post but I have to reply to this.. No it isn't, not even close and this is exactly what I am talking about. it maybe considered treasonous to the establishment, but not according to the constitution. Ok, gone.
  15. The hate is strong in this thread. I see many are in here are separatist. The problem with this country is the establishment from both sides, they don't like Trump coming in and making changes to their safe cushy world. I 100% agree with his deregulation, but he also does a lot of really stupid things. Both sides do not care about the people, they care about money, they care about the control they are extending over the people. Make no mistake, every person is different, every person has different abilities and strengths. Trying to implement equality across socio-ecomonic groups is a farce. It is about taking control from the people by the people, and giving it to the government. Mob rule takes the voice away from each person, and gives it to mob rule mentality. Your voice no longer matters. Anyway, this is the ONLY post I will make in this forum.. to much BS.
  16. You seem to be a little obsessed! I noticed you didn't take me up on my little bet for final record.. why is that? EDIT: Are you one of those fans that go after recruits for decommitting from NU? hmm, something tells me.. Congrats to the team on doing much better than I expected. I didn't watch the game because I was watching another NU team win a National Championship.
  17. In my opinion, this really should be moved because you can't comment without going away from football. Tax breaks, whether some like to call them trickle down or not do work. It does put more money in the citizens hands.. some save more, and some spend more but it does make a difference. Who can say they have actually read the bill, and what they are saying isn't just regurgitated hate for anything a certain side puts out there?
  18. Oh, I don't disagree one bit. I think they are a-holes for sure. I was just pointing out this person is a joke.
  19. yeah, I saw this.. I also saw this guy spelled America with KKK on his home page. After complaining about fans attacking KJ he then attacks NU by calling them horrible. Sorry, but that is being a hypocrite
  20. Wait, according to the national media this is nothing but a rich get richer tax deal, but you are saying the rich will pay more? Maybe, just maybe it starts to bring coaching salaries back to earth? yes, the rest will be affected, but so what. If you pay less you have more to spread around. Honestly, I don't care who is affected, overall health of this country is more important than football. That said, if it adds more to the deficit, then it isn't a good plan overall.
  21. One game? How do you know he is making that judgement off of one game? You do realize the Jays have played more than one game, right?
  22. I, personally, don't care about one game. I want to win enough games to get into the tourney. Maybe that means winning both games, maybe neither games.. Just make the NCAA tourney, oh, and win the first game finally.
  23. Even though I have zero faith in Tim Miles, I will still be rooting on the team, of course. I really hope Tim makes me eat crow, but I highly doubt it!
  24. CU has played 2 top 25 teams and lost to them both, lets not pretend they are some awesome team. In the past they have had some really good team, this year at this point they are not one of those teams. They lost by 17 to number 12 ranked Gonzaga just 9 days ago.
