Our offense is downright pitiful. I remember how excited we all were that Frost was bringing his high-powered, quick-strike offense that we saw at Oregon to Lincoln.

TERRIBLE idea. After playing OU, MSU, and Michigan close, gotta think that if we get throttled by OSU, the sentiment will be that Frost has "lost the team" and TA will have an easy decision. Glad to hear that it's 100% certain that we'll get a QB in the portal... but what guarantee do we have that the one we land will be any good?

I think Calhoun is a damn good coach, and I love the offense he runs. Again, Nebraska is the one school who would embrace that offense whole-heartedly.

Say Frost is retained, yet TA forces his hand and he has to make staff changes... who needs to be shown the door? With Orgeron leaving LSU, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Jake Peetz, Corey Raymond, & Mickey Joseph on our staff. All three Huskers; all three coaching for LSU instead of us. Unacceptable. This is the perfect time to snag all three.

Many of the same problems from Riley's tenure have plagued Frost throughout his tenure. Hiring assistants he's familiar with, instead of branching out and looking for the absolute best guys available. The top coaches in the game aren't hesitant to fix broken pieces.

Chadwell, Herman, Venables, Freeze, Lanning, Campbell, Calhoun, Aranda, DeBoer... I'd be happy with any of those.

If Frost is retained, I have zero doubt in my mind that his decision will be to play Martinez, expecting the results to be different. They won't be. If I were Trev and actually considering keeping Frost, the two things I'd require him to do would be: 1) replace all of the crappy assistants (there are many); and 2) get a new QB from the portal.

Perhaps not... perhaps during his meeting with Trev, his argument is that he's going to get a new QB, like Brennan or Rattler, and Trev says, "OK, if you're able to land him, I'll give you one more year." In the end, it's all too much of a risk. Brennan's biggest problem is that he's been injury-prone. One big hit, and then what?

Hypothetically speaking, let's say that Frost reaches out and is able to secure Brennan's commitment for next year. Would that be enough to keep Frost another season? Heck, even if Frost isn't here, we're gonna need a QB.
